"Absolutely not."
Mo Tingchuan retorted sharply.
How could he possibly use Mingdai's property?
Absolutely not.
"Oh, why are you so stubborn? It's not like we're not going to pay her back, we're just borrowing it temporarily."
This is the only solution Mo Yumei can think of right now.
Mo Tingchuan shook his head.
"I can't move."
Mo Yumei slammed her hand on the table in anger.
"What about your sister?"
Mo Tingchuan explained.
“Mingdai’s money is all with her parents.”
Mo Yumei was stunned, incredulous.
How did you know?
Mo Tingchuan lowered his head in embarrassment. "I've investigated."
Mo Yumei's mind raced.
She stared at her son's face. "You really can't come up with this money?"
Mo Tingchuan was very irritable.
“The company has invested a lot in the past two years, and all my money is tied up in it.”
Mo Yumei had another idea.
"Then I'll think of another way."
Mo Tingchuan found his mother's expression intriguing.
What do you want to do?
Mo Yumei stared at her son thoughtfully for a moment before saying, "Go borrow from Mingdai's parents."
"no!"
Mo Tingchuan stood up abruptly and protested vehemently.
"Absolutely not!"
Mo Yumei was very angry.
"You can't do this or that, what do you suggest we do?"
Mo Yumei was so desperate to raise money for her daughter that she abandoned all sense of shame.
"Before you and Mingdai divorce, and while her parents still have a good impression of you, use the excuse that your company is struggling to operate, and I believe they will lend you the money."
The more Mo Yumei thought about it, the better she felt it was.
After all, Mingdai's parents had even signed a betting agreement for the Mo family, so how could they be unwilling to take out a mere five million now?
Mo Tingchuan did not object.
He had a different idea.
If Mingdai's parents lend the money, then the divorce will have even more reason to drag on.
"I know your concerns are simply that you're afraid Mingdai won't lend it to you if she finds out."
Mo Yumei understood her son's concerns.
“You can talk to Mingdai’s father yourself and ask him not to tell Mingdai, so that Mingdai won’t worry.”
Mo Tingchuan remained silent.
Since he didn't speak, Mo Yumei tacitly accepted this solution.
She turned back and gave her daughter a reassuring look, as if the five million was already within her grasp.
That evening, Mingdai received a phone call from a jewelry scammer.
Liu Mei still didn't want to let Ming Dai, this big fish, go.
Based on Mingdai's cautious nature, Liu Mei decided to invite Mingdai to attend her jewelry exhibition.
"There will be a lot of beautiful jewelry on display. I know you have high standards and want good quality items. Why not come to the show and pick some out? I guarantee you'll be satisfied."
Mingdai pretended to be very interested.
"Really? Then I really have to go to the event and take a look. Maybe if I find something suitable, I'll take it home right away."
"You must come." Liu Mei smiled with satisfaction.
Mingdai knew that Liu Mei was going to perform a switcheroo on her right there and then.
Maybe if she goes there, she can get some evidence.
The two chatted a few words in a seemingly amicable manner.
Mingdai suddenly asked curiously, "Did Mo Qingying take her jewelry?"
Liu Mei was not happy when this topic was brought up.
Not yet.
She tested Mingdai.
"If it's convenient for you, Ms. Ming, could you please urge her for me? If she doesn't come to pick up the goods soon, I'll have to call the police. Otherwise, I can't afford to have these goods stuck with me."
Mingdai smiled helplessly.
“We’re always at odds. If I urge her, she’ll start yelling at me.”
Liu Mei had heard a lot of bad things about Ming Dai from Mo Qingying, and knew that Ming Dai wasn't just making excuses, but the two of them were still family after all.
"If anything happens to her, it will affect you no matter what."
"How could anything really happen? Her brother runs such a big company, so don't worry. How about we give her a few more days off?"
Liu Mei was determined to delay, as her goal was to make money. If she really called the police, she would be the one crying wolf.
"That's probably going to be very difficult."
"If all else fails, you can go find her brother; he's rich."
Mingdai believed that Liu Mei had the ability to make Mo Tingchuan cough up the money.
Liu Mei hung up the phone, satisfied.
After dinner, Ming's father felt much better and even took a walk around the hospital building.
He couldn't stay there any longer and wanted to be discharged.
Mingdai tried to reason with him, but he eventually got angry, which finally managed to intimidate her father.
Ming's father obediently went to bed.
He Yaonian surprised everyone by delivering a late-night snack.
The two of them acted furtively and stealthily, afraid of waking Ming's father, who was sleeping lightly.
The corridor was empty and quiet.
It's still early, not even eight o'clock.
It hadn't been long since dinner, and Mingdai was still quite full.
He Yaonian brought various skewers grilled by the villa's chef; he was quite down-to-earth.
Mingdai also likes to eat it.
Several drinks were also provided.
The two glasses were given to the maid who was accompanying the patient.
The two cups were placed on the bench where the two people sat.
He Yaonian's excessive concern made Mingdai uneasy.
She wanted to ask directly for clarification, but when she met He Yaonian's unfathomable, deep eyes, she couldn't say a word.
All I could do was take a skewer and gnaw on it resentfully in frustration.
He Yaonian definitely doesn't like her.
He Yaonian's status and position are what they are; he's not stupid.
Mingdai's emotions were directly conveyed to He Yaonian.
He Yaonian realized the dangers of acting rashly.
"I have to go on a business trip tomorrow and I don't know when I'll be back. I was thinking of telling you before I left that you don't want Xingqiong and the others to know about your father's hospitalization, so you'll have to work harder on your own from now on."
