Chapter 21 A promise is a promise (1/2)

When Chi Qiao came out of the pond, everyone's eyes turned to her.

She then waved to Chi Dahu, who was guarding the basket and preventing others from knowing what was inside.

"Dad, come here for a second, Xiaoyu has something to say to you!"

Chi Dahu looked down at the basket on his back, "This..."

"Bring them all in!"

Chi Dahu nodded and looked at the other bewildered people, "Maybe something's wrong with Xiaoyu, I'll go see what's going on."

After saying this, he picked up his basket and followed Chi Qiao into the house.

There is a difference between men and women, and even though Chi Dahu treats Chi Yu as his daughter, he still feels somewhat uncomfortable at this moment.

In his view, sons should avoid their mothers when they grow up, and daughters should avoid their fathers when they grow up.

With Xiaoyu currently in her postpartum period, it's somewhat inappropriate for his elder brother to enter this room.

But he didn't know what Xiaoyu wanted to see him about, so after entering the house, he stood at the door with his eyes lowered.

Seeing this, Chi Qiao couldn't help but tug at him with amusement.

"Why are you standing so far away? The little fish won't eat you!"

Chi Yu had already gotten up and was sitting on the bench next to the tea table in the room.

Upon seeing his elder brother, he hurriedly waved and said, "Brother, come quickly, I have something important to tell you!"

Chi Dahu quickly looked up at her.

Seeing that she was dressed neatly and looked much better than before, I breathed a sigh of relief and felt much more at ease.

He immediately walked over with a stern face, just like a patriarch.

"What's wrong? Is something the matter?"

Based on the original owner's memories, Chi Yu already knew what kind of person her elder brother was, and she didn't mince words about it.

Instead, he went straight to the point: "Brother, I have something to show you!"

Chi Dahu was curious when he heard this. Before he could react, a glass of water appeared out of thin air in her previously empty palm.

This scene terrified Chi Dahu.

Immediately, I saw his eyes widen, and he suddenly stood up from the bench, staring intently at the glass of water.

Even his hands, hanging at his sides, were clenched into fists.

After a while, he gritted his teeth, and finally mustered up his courage to reach out and touch the glass of water.

Once he was sure that what he was holding was not fake, he looked at Chi Yu with the same questioning gaze.

What's going on?

Chi Yu could tell that he had been quite stimulated, but it was still within his tolerance range, so he immediately began to perform.

Her tears fell like pearls from a broken string in that instant, and even her voice was choked with sobs.

"Brother, you don't know, I almost died."

I fell into a coma after giving birth that day.

Then I had a dream, a dream that felt like a connection between past and present lives.

Upon hearing this, Chi Dahu unconsciously clenched his fist again.

Chi Yu, as if she hadn't seen anything, continued, "In that dream, after I woke up, I was told by the Shen family that I had given birth to a stillborn child."

I didn't realize my child had been switched, and I was immersed in pain every day.

The Qi family doesn't care about me at all. In fact, Shen Shi and Zhuang Zilan are always bullying me.

They said I was an unlucky person, that I couldn't even have children.

They even said I was cursed with bad luck, bringing death to my parents and then my children.

Hearing this, Chi Dahu could no longer stand it and shouted, "What utter bullshit!"

His little fish is the luckiest person in the family.

That's what my parents always said when they were alive.

Even the fortune-telling given by the wandering Taoist priest was the same.

If the little fish isn't lucky, then who is?

Those outside were startled when they heard the elder brother's furious voice suddenly coming from inside.
