Chapter 344: Lakeside Interview

“You’re more candid than I thought,” Louis said finally. “Most people who come to see me try to mask their weaknesses.”

"Hiding weaknesses will only cause the cooperation to collapse midway, which would be a disaster for both parties," Ning Nanxue replied. "I hope this is a long-term cooperation, not a one-time transaction."

Louis and Jiang Tingchen exchanged a meaningful look, then raised their glasses. "For an honest partner."

After the meal, Ning Nanxue sent Louis to the hotel entrance. He suddenly asked, "Ms. Ning, I heard that there has been some turmoil within the Fu family recently?"

Ning Nanxue's heart trembled, but she remained calm on the surface.

"Any large company will have an adjustment period, but I can assure you that this will not affect our cooperation."

Louis looked at the oriental woman in front of him and took a sip of champagne slowly.

"Excuse me, Ms. Ning." Louis put down his glass. "Your background check shows that there are frequent changes of power within the Fu family. In our industry, stability is the foundation of the foundation."

Ning Nanxue's fingers gently stroked the wall of the cup, and she felt a cool touch at her fingertips.

"Every business has growing pains, Mr. Louis. I prefer to view it as an opportunity for transformation."

Jiang Tingchen added, "In fact, it was precisely because he saw the trend of industry change that President Ning decided to adjust the company's strategic direction. This forward-looking thinking is precisely a trustworthy quality."

Louis swirled his glass thoughtfully, his eyes lingering between the two of them.

For the next two hours, Ning Nanxue talked freely. Her keen judgment of the market and bold and innovative ideas made Louis nod frequently.

Jiang Tingchen provided precise supplements in terms of professional data, and they cooperated well, as if they had been partners for many years.

However, before the end of the conversation, Lewis still shook his head regretfully: “Ms. Ning, your business acumen is indeed admirable, but new energy is not an ordinary industry.”

He stood up and straightened the collar of his suit. "You are too young and lack the experience of this industry. I appreciate your sincerity, but I need to consider more."

Watching Louis leave, Ning Nanxue did not show any frustration.

She turned to Jiang Tingchen, her lips slightly raised.

"He didn't reject us outright," she lowered her voice. "That's a good sign. Now, we need a bargaining chip he can't refuse."

Jiang Tingchen chuckled: "It seems that my Xue'er is more patient than I thought."

"In the business world, the most taboo is to be too eager for quick success." Ning Nanxue stood up and adjusted her skirt. "An old fox like Louis, the more you push him, the more he will retreat."

Back in the hotel suite, Ning Nanxue was soaking in the bathtub to relax her tense nerves when the ringing of her cell phone broke the silence.

"Mr. Ning." Secretary Chen's voice was nervous. "Mr. Fu took Miss Xu to look at wedding dresses today, and he just bought a diamond ring this morning."

Slight ripples appeared on the water surface, and Ning Nanxue tightened her fingers slightly.

"What's Xu Zhiru's reaction?" She asked calmly, as if asking about today's weather.

"She looked surprised, even more surprised than the rest of us." Secretary Chen paused. "A few times, she seemed to want to ask Mr. Fu something, but she hesitated."

Ning Nanxue hung up the phone and slowly leaned back against the edge of the bathtub.

A moment later, Jiang Tingchen knocked on the bathroom door: "Xue'er, I made tea."

Ning Nanxue put on a bathrobe, took the teacup handed to her by Jiang Tingchen, and briefly relayed the content of the call.

"Fu Chen is getting engaged to Xu Zhiru so soon?" Jiang Tingchen frowned slightly. "It's too abnormal. There must be something fishy going on."

"Xu Zhao must have promised Fu Chen something important," Jiang Tingchen stroked her slightly cold shoulder, "which is why he was so eager to win over Xu Zhiru."

"No matter what they are planning," Ning Nanxue lowered her eyes and drank the tea in her cup, "we must be one step ahead of them."

The tea slid down her throat, a slight bitterness followed by a hint of sweetness. Ning Nanxue placed the empty cup on the coffee table and tapped the rim with her fingertips.

"Fu Chen suddenly showed kindness to Xu Zhiru. There must be a conspiracy behind it." She raised her wrist, looked at her watch, and frowned slightly.

Jiang Tingchen leaned against the balcony door, his tall figure outlined in the moonlight. "Xue'er, how confident are you in convincing Louis?"

"30%." Ning Nanxue said calmly, "But 30% is enough."

In the hotel suite, only the table lamp emitted a warm yellow glow.

Ning Nanxue and Jiang Tingchen sat around a round table covered with documents, and they worked overnight to perfect their plan.

"What does Greenlight Technology need?" Ning Nanxue pointed to the map of Asia. "They want the Asian market, and market development happens to be our strength."

Jiang Tingchen tapped his slender fingers on the keyboard, projecting data onto the wall. "We can combine resources like this—"

His voice is deep and magnetic, and behind every number there is precise business insight.

The strategy gradually became clear during their communication, with Ning Nanxue's bold ideas and Jiang Tingchen's rational analysis perfectly integrated.

"I suggest adding a buffer period here." Jiang Tingchen pointed to the schedule, "to give Louis more sense of security."

Ning Nanxue leaned in to take a closer look, her hair falling down and brushing against the back of Jiang Tingchen's hand. "Smart, this will make him less worried."

The clock struck three in the morning, and Ning Nanxue leaned tiredly on the sofa with her legs curled up.

Files were scattered all over the floor, and notebooks were filled with dense annotations.

“If Louis accepts our proposal,” she closed her eyes, her long eyelashes casting tiny shadows in the light, “Fu Chen will be caught in a dilemma—either let the company miss this opportunity or be forced to cooperate with me.”
