"Not for now." Ning Nanxue lowered her eyelids. "I was just wondering if there was someone else behind Fu Chen's connection?"
For example, what about Xu Zhao who has never appeared?
"I can't rule it out." Jiang Tingchen didn't answer directly. "The most urgent thing is tomorrow's board meeting. Are you sure?"
"Mr. Wen and the others are on my side." Ning Nanxue rubbed her brows. "But Fu Chen holds a huge investment from Fengtou Company and is the eldest son of the Fu family. He will definitely incite some wavering directors."
"Let's anonymously reveal the key terms of this agreement to a few senior directors," Jiang Tingchen suggested. "Let them understand that Fu Chen isn't attracting helpers, but jackals."
"I think so too." Ning Nanxue replied.
"Xue'er," Jiang Tingchen lowered his voice, with a soothing tone, "Don't be too tired."
His concern made her feel complicated at this moment.
In the top floor conference room of the Fu Group, the atmosphere around the huge oval conference table was as heavy as lead.
Fu Chen sat next to the main seat, tapping the table with his fingers from time to time, making a dull sound.
He cleared his throat and glanced at each of the directors present.
"Dear directors," he began, his voice tinged with uncontrollable pride, "I've gathered you all today to discuss an important matter. I believe there are serious problems with Ms. Ning Nanxue's decisions during her tenure as CEO."
He paused, looked in Ning Nanxue's direction, and his tone suddenly became stern: "Especially introducing investment from Huayun Group! In my opinion, this is short-sighted and inviting a wolf into the house!"
"What the Fu Group needs is a strategic partner with a truly international vision, not a small-scale venture limited to the domestic market!"
"Therefore, I propose that Ning Nanxue be removed from her position as CEO immediately!"
After he finished speaking, the conference room fell silent, with only the faint sound of the air conditioner blowing air. The directors looked at each other with different expressions.
Ning Nanxue sat upright, her back straight, as if she hadn't heard Fu Chen's accusation. She raised her hand, signaling her assistant to distribute the documents.
"Mr. Fu seems to have a special fondness for the phrase 'letting a wolf into the house.'" Her voice sounded calmly, reaching everyone clearly. "However, it might be more appropriate to use it on the 'leading company' you yourself brought in."
She picked up the document in front of her and said, "Directors, please take a look at a copy of this agreement. Fengtou Company is demanding a 70% dividend payout ratio and has set extremely stringent performance betting clauses."
"If they fail to reach an agreement, they will acquire more than 30% of Fu's shares and have the right to directly participate in the company's management."
"Not to mention, the agreement included a breach of contract clause that was almost impossible to fulfill, and the amount of compensation was enough to bankrupt the Fu family."
She raised her eyes and looked at Fu Chen: "Mr. Fu, is this a strategic investment or a contract of sale?"
Fu Chen's face instantly turned ugly: "Nonsense! This is normal business terms! Fengtou Company is very powerful, so naturally they have their demands!"
"Strong?" Ning Nanxue asked with a hint of sarcasm. "As far as I know, this Fengtou company is notorious internationally. They specialize in hostile takeovers, draining the target company's value and then withdrawing, leaving behind a mess. Did Mr. Fu conduct due diligence before signing this agreement?"
"And this Mr. Howard," she changed the subject, "has President Fu verified his identity and background? Can he truly represent the top management of Fengtou Company? Or is he just a puppet pushed to the front?"
Her analysis was clear and logical, and each question hit home. The directors, who had been somewhat shaken, began to murmur, their gazes toward Fu Chen becoming more scrutinizing.
Xu Zhiru, who was sitting next to Fu Chen, couldn't hold back anymore.
She dressed up carefully today, and wore the diamond necklace that Fu Chenxin gave her around her neck, but it looked a little dazzling at the moment.
"Nanxue, that's enough!" She stood up and said in a sharp voice, "Ah Chen worked so hard to attract such a strong investment for the company. How can you slander him out of jealousy? You just can't bear to see Ah Chen succeed!"
She tried to steer the conversation towards personal grudges: "Who doesn't know how you feel about Ah Chen? If you can't have her, are you going to destroy her? The Fu family belongs to the Fu family, and it's not your turn as an outsider to point fingers here!"
Ning Nanxue slowly turned her head and looked at Xu Zhiru with a cold gaze.
"Ms. Xu, this is the Fu Group's board meeting, and we're discussing the company's strategy and future. Who are you speaking in? Fu Chen's fiancée? Or the future Mrs. Fu?"
"I..." Xu Zhiru was speechless for a moment.
"Since Miss Xu mentioned personal grudges," Ning Nanxue continued, her voice soft but penetrating, "why don't we talk about something more personal?"
"For example, how did Ms. Xu deliberately approach Fu Chen, and how did she use the so-called 'depression' to gain sympathy, step by step to get to where she is today?"
Xu Zhiru's face turned pale: "You...you are slandering me!"
"And your brother, Xu Zhao." Ning Nanxue's gaze was as precise as a scalpel. "Why did he suddenly flee overseas back then? Was it really just to 'hide from the limelight'? Who cleaned up that mess for him in the end?"
"Miss Xu went to great lengths to become Mrs. Fu. Was it for love, or was it so that you and your brother could use the power of the Fu family to cover up some shady past and reap greater benefits?"
Xu Zhiru staggered and held on to the back of the chair to steady herself. Her lips trembled, but she couldn't utter a word in rebuttal.
The conference room was silent.
