Fu Chen slammed the table and stood up: "Ning Nanxue! Shut up!"
Ning Nanxue met his gaze and did not give in.
"That's the truth, why are you keeping quiet?" She picked up the copy of the agreement on the table. "Mr. Fu, instead of worrying about my personal affairs, you should explain to the directors how you plan to end this agreement."
Fu Chen's chest heaved as he pointed at Ning Nanxue, but he was speechless for a moment.
The deathly silence in the conference room was broken.
Mr. Wen, who was sitting at one end of the long table, coughed. His voice was old but powerful. "Mr. Fu, the terms of the agreement that Nan Xue just mentioned, especially the part about the dividend ratio and performance betting..."
He paused and looked at Fu Chen: "The risk is too great."
Another gray-haired director echoed, "Seventy percent dividends? That's no longer an investment, it's plunder. Fengtou Company has such a huge appetite, how can our Fu Group afford it?"
"Mr. Fu, did the legal department assess the risks when you signed the agreement?" someone asked directly.
Fu Chen's face turned pale, but he forced himself to remain calm: "Everyone is worrying too much! Fengtou Company's strength is there, and high returns naturally come with high demands. This is business common sense!"
"Common sense?" Ning Nanxue repeated softly, "Is handing over control of the company considered common sense?"
"Ning Nanxue!" Fu Chen growled.
"Mr. Fu, please calm down." Mr. Wen raised his hand to stop him. "Now is not the time to blame each other. We need to get to the bottom of the matter."
He turned to Fu Chen and asked, "Regarding this Mr. Howard, his identity and background, and whether he has the authority to sign such a major agreement on behalf of Fengtou Company, can you provide more conclusive evidence?"
"That's right," another director continued. "We need to see the original copy of this agreement. Such harsh terms must be reviewed by the board of directors. You can't decide on your own."
"Fengtou Company's reputation is indeed not so good." Someone muttered quietly, but it was loud enough for everyone present to hear. "We can't risk the future of the Fu family."
Fu Chen looked around and found that several directors who had originally supported him also showed hesitation.
