Jiang Tingchen returned to Huayun Group and the ringing of the phone broke the silence.
"Mr. Jiang, an emergency family meeting will be held in the main conference room in half an hour."
"What's the urgent matter?" Jiang Tingchen frowned.
"Mr. Jiang has personally ordered that all core members must be present." The secretary's voice was a little nervous.
Jiang Tingchen put down the Fu Group's newly completed plan for importing foreign technology and sighed. He had originally planned to personally hand it over to Ning Nanxue tomorrow morning, but he hadn't expected something to suddenly happen at the family level.
The atmosphere in the meeting room was solemn.
Old Master Jiang sat in the main seat with a serious expression.
As soon as Jiang Tingchen entered the room, more than a dozen eyes were cast at him, most of them filled with dissatisfaction and blame.
"Tingchen, you're here." Old Master Jiang motioned him to sit down. "I've gathered everyone here today to discuss an important matter concerning the future development of the Jiang Family Group."
Jiang Tingchen glanced around calmly, catching a glimpse of pride on his uncle Jiang Mingchuan's face. He knew in his heart that this meeting might be related to his relationship with the Fu family.
"Head of the Southeast Asian project, report on the latest progress." Mr. Jiang went straight to the point.
A middle-aged man stood up and turned on the projector. "Mr. Jiang, our Southeast Asian market expansion plan is seriously behind schedule. All three originally planned investments have been postponed, including the chip factory in Malaysia and the production base in Vietnam."
"What's the reason?" Jiang Tingchen asked calmly.
"It's a cash flow issue," the CFO said. "In the past two months, the group has invested 300 million yuan in Fu Group-related projects, which has put a strain on the capital chain of our core business."
Jiang Tingchen's eyes darkened. "This investment has already been arranged and is not included in the budget for the Southeast Asian project."
"That's the problem!" Second Uncle Jiang Mingchuan slammed the table. "You've invested all the group's reserves! Huayun is your personal investment, so it's fine. Now you're going to take over the Fu Group too?"
Mr. Jiang raised his hand to stop the argument: "Tingchen, explain yourself."
Jiang Tingchen said calmly, "The technical cooperation of the Fu Group is of great significance to us. Their breakthrough in the field of new energy can open up a whole new market for the Jiang family."
"That's nonsense!" Third Uncle Jiang Mingyuan sneered. "The Fu Group is facing internal and external troubles right now, and the board of directors is wavering. It's still unknown how long Ning Nanxue can hold on. Investing your money in it would be a waste of money!"
"I think he has been blinded by beauty." Someone murmured mockingly.
Jiang Tingchen narrowed his eyes slightly, and his voice suddenly turned cold: "Watch your words."
"Enough!" Old Master Jiang slammed the table and stood up. "Tingchen, I respect your business judgment, but this time you were too emotional. The interests of the group are above all else!"
"Grandpa, I have never put personal feelings above the interests of the group." Jiang Tingchen said seriously, "The value of Fu's technology far exceeds the surface figures."
"No need to quibble." Old Master Jiang waved his hand, signaling his assistant to distribute the documents. "This is the result of a joint investigation by various departments. Because of your excessive favoritism towards the Fu Group, the group has delayed at least five core projects, and its capital turnover rate has dropped by 17%."
Jiang Tingchen's face darkened as he flipped through the report. This report was clearly meticulously prepared, with detailed data and rigorous logic, and it clearly targeted his relationship with Ning Nanxue.
"From now on, you will cease all assistance to the Fu Group." Old Master Jiang's tone left no room for doubt. "Withdraw your investment within two weeks."
"That's impossible." Jiang Tingchen raised his head, his eyes determined. "The cooperation has already started. A hasty withdrawal of investment will only hurt both sides."
"Tingchen, you've disappointed us so much." Second Uncle shook his head. "The Jiang family has raised you for so many years, training you to be their successor, and yet you're going against the family for an outsider?"
"I'm not fighting against the family," Jiang Tingchen said in a low but resounding voice. "Everything I do is for the long-term benefit of the Jiang family. Fu's technological breakthrough will completely change the industry landscape. Ditching investment now would be like handing it over to our competitors."
"That's the Fu family's business. What does it have to do with the Jiang family?" Uncle San said coldly.
Jiang Tingchen glanced at everyone: "If you only care about immediate benefits, then I have nothing to say. But please remember, if you miss this opportunity, the Jiang family will be completely left behind in the new energy field."
"The family has made a decision." Old Master Jiang knocked on the table. "If you insist on your opinion, we will have to activate Article 7 of the family rule."
The meeting room was silent. Everyone knew what Article 7 meant—deprivation of core decision-making power.
Jiang Tingchen stood up and put his hands on the conference table. "Grandpa, I respect you, but I must insist on this time. Give me three months. If there is no substantial progress in the Fu project, I am willing to take all the responsibility."
"You're too stubborn!" Old Master Jiang said angrily, "Is it worth it for a woman?"
"It's not for anyone." Jiang Tingchen looked directly at the old man, "It's for the future of the Jiang family."
"Very good." Old Master Jiang took a deep breath. "In that case, from now on, Mingchuan will be fully responsible for the Southeast Asian project. Your decision-making power will be temporarily frozen until you have thought it through."
Jiang Tingchen was silent for a moment, then turned and walked towards the door.
"Tingchen, if you walk out of this door, you will become the enemy of the entire family!" The second uncle shouted sternly.
Jiang Tingchen stopped and didn't look back: "I never thought of becoming an enemy of the family, but some roads must be walked first. I hope that one day, you will understand my choice."
After saying that, he pushed the door open and walked out.
Ning Nanxue's office door was opened with a sigh, and Secretary Chen had a strange look on his face.
"Boss Ning, the Jiang family sent a representative over here, saying they have something important to discuss."
Ning Nanxue looked up, her pen pausing slightly on the document. The Jiang family's visit at this hour was no accident. After a moment's contemplation, she nodded, "Please come in."
As the door opened, a middle-aged man in a dark grey suit walked in slowly, his every move exuding a majestic aura that could not be ignored.
"Mr. Ning, I've long heard of you. I'm Zhou Changfeng from the Jiang family, Mr. Jiang's right-hand man." The man nodded slightly, his smile appropriate but distant.
"Mr. Zhou, please take a seat." Ning Nanxue gestured for him to sit down. "I wonder what the Jiang family has sent you for?"
Zhou Changfeng sat down calmly, his eyes sweeping across the office. "Boss Ning's office is very stylishly decorated, simple yet elegant, just like the way you conduct yourself."
Ning Nanxue's lips curled slightly: "Forget the polite words, Mr. Zhou, just speak frankly."
"Mr. Ning is indeed straightforward," Zhou Changfeng said with a smile. "First, I have to say that Mr. Jiang has high praise for you. Your decisive decision-making and outstanding leadership in the business world are truly admirable. Especially the wisdom and courage you displayed in responding to the Howard crisis. Even Mr. Jiang said that such a heroine is rare in the business world."
Ning Nanxue tapped the table with her fingertips. "If Mr. Zhou comes here to express his compliments, it would be too much of a fuss."
Zhou Changfeng sighed softly and took out a document from his briefcase. "Boss Ning is indeed very observant. To be honest, the reason I'm visiting today is because of Jiang Tingchen."
