The light outside the window was a little dazzling. Ning Nanxue narrowed her eyes slightly and put down the financial report in her hand.
Secretary Chen took a rare vacation, and the office became less busy than usual and more quiet.
Jiang Tingchen pushed the door open and came in, holding a cup of freshly brewed hot tea. "Moisten your throat. You haven't moved much all morning."
Ning Nanxue took it and her fingertips touched the warmth of the cup wall.
"Thank you. I have a lot to do, but I'm not tired. It's a pity that I haven't even had a few days of vacation yet, and now I have to come back to deal with all these headaches." She paused, "Green Light Technology should be moving soon."
As soon as he finished speaking, the intercom on the desk rang.
Ning Nanxue glanced at the caller ID and raised her eyebrows at Jiang Tingchen. "Speak of the devil, and the devil will appear." She answered the phone and said calmly, "Mr. Louis, good afternoon."
Lewis on the other end of the phone was clearly not so calm, his voice was filled with obvious anxiety: "Mr. Ning! Oh no, I should call you Director Ning now. I have been really restless these past few days. What is going on with the Fu Group and you? Our cooperation, that new material project, will not be affected?"
Louis asked questions almost like a machine gun, fearing that he would lose everything if he was a second late.
Ning Nanxue took a sip of tea and spoke slowly, "Mr. Lewis, don't be nervous. Green Light Technology and our cooperation project will remain the same and there will be no negative impact. Are you worried about the changes in the Fu Group?"
"Yeah! How can I not be worried?" Louis' voice rose a few notes. "Fu's suddenly withdrew its shares, and Huayun is... I heard that Fu Chen is now in a state of panic and is looking for money everywhere! Can we still keep up with the subsequent funding and resource support for our project? This is not a small investment, Director Ning!"
"I understand your concerns." Ning Nanxue's voice remained calm, carrying a soothing power. "First of all, regarding the project itself, you should remember that when the Fu Group was on the verge of crisis, it was our Ning Group that intervened and stabilized the situation. We also injected new resources to ensure the smooth progress of the project. In a sense, Ning's investment in and control of this project has always been there."
Lewis was silent for a few seconds, as if digesting the information in her words. "You mean... those resources of the Fu family originally belonged to... the Ning family?"
"That's understandable. Right now, we've only made some necessary adjustments to the personnel structure to make responsibilities more clear." Ning Nanxue brushed it off lightly. "As for the subsequent funding and resources, they will only be more abundant and more stable than before. You should have heard about Huayun Group's investment. Their support will only strengthen, not weaken."
Ning Nanxue glanced at Jiang Tingchen, who was calm and composed beside her, and a faint smile appeared on the corner of her mouth. "Mr. Lewis, the cooperation between Huayun and Ning's will only become closer and closer. The problems you are worried about are not problems at all. You just need to focus on technology research and development and project promotion as before."
"Huh..." Lewis breathed a sigh of relief from the other end of the phone, "That's good, that's good. Director Ning, I'm relieved when you say that. To be honest, dealing with the Fu family is really hard to describe."
He didn't say anything else, but the relief in his tone was obvious.
"The business world is like a battlefield; change is the norm," Ning Nanxue responded calmly. "As long as our cooperation foundation is solid and our goals are aligned, there won't be any problems. On your side, just focus on preparing for the next phase of your work."
"With your words, I feel relieved. Then I will wait for your good news, Director Ning."
"It's a pleasure to work with you, Mr. Louis."
After hanging up the phone, Ning Nanxue gently placed the phone on the table.
Jiang Tingchen handed over a small snack and said, "It seems that after you withdrew, Mr. Lewis almost bought a standing ticket and ran away overnight."
Ning Nanxue took the snack, took a small bite, and finally a look of relief appeared between her brows.
"He's also scared. The Fu Group may look big, but its interior has long been hollowed out. He's investing in new technology, which carries inherently high risk, so he's naturally a bit nervous." She paused, looking at Jiang Tingchen. "But it also gives him some peace of mind. The Green Light Technology project is crucial to our future plans."
"Fu Chen wanted to snatch this project from you at the beginning, right?" Jiang Tingchen mentioned thoughtfully.
"Yeah." Ning Nanxue nodded, her eyes slightly gloomy.
Thinking of those past events, she couldn't help but feel a chill in her heart. Fu Chen's shortsightedness and arrogance almost killed a technology with great potential.
Now, this has become a good card in her hand. How ironic.
Jiang Tingchen gently held her hand and said, "It's all in the past. Now, you have the final say." His voice was gentle but firm.
Ning Nanxue held his hand back, and the turmoil in her heart quickly subsided.
"Yeah, I have the final say now." She took a deep breath and looked out the window. "Green Light Technology is stable now. Next, we just have to wait for Huayun's funds to be fully in place. Fu Chen... he's probably still trying to find a way to rob Peter to pay Paul, right?"
"My people reported that he's been reaching out to a lot of his old connections lately, hoping to find bridge financing, but most of them have been turned down." Jiang Tingchen stated the facts calmly. "As soon as Huayun withdrew, the bank immediately downgraded Fu's credit rating. It's going to be difficult for him to raise funds."
"Then make it harder for him." Ning Nanxue turned around, her eyes bright, with an almost cold clarity, "Doesn't he like to control everything? Then let him taste the feeling of being completely out of control." She paused, as if suddenly remembering something, "What about Su Yao? Is there any movement on the Su family's money?"
"The Su family..." Jiang Tingchen's tone was a little amused. "They're probably in a difficult situation now. They originally wanted to take advantage of the situation and use Fu Chen to swallow up the Fu family, but in the end, they didn't light the fire, and instead trapped themselves."
"The amount of funds of the Su family is just a drop in the bucket to support the mess of the Fu family alone. Su Yao is probably more anxious than Fu Chen right now."
Ning Nanxue let out a cold smile. "Then let them worry until they die of anxiety." She walked back to the sofa and sat down. "We'll proceed step by step."
She was silent for a few seconds, and the only sound in the room was the faint sound coming from outside the window.
"Tingchen," she said softly, with an imperceptible tremor in her voice, "Sometimes I wonder, if Suisui were still here...would none of this have happened?"
Jiang Tingchen walked to her side, without saying a word, but just hugged her gently and firmly.
"I know." He whispered, his voice warm and reassuring, "But we can't just live in what-ifs. We can't let Sui Sui's trip be in vain. All of this is owed to him by his father. We must get it back and not let him off so easily."
