When Song Liyun arrived, Granny Qi was already standing at the door.
Her face was also pale. When she saw Song Liyun coming over, she immediately stopped her: "Young Madam, those who have all collapsed may have the plague. You don't need to come over."
The tribe's greatest fear is disease. If it's a plague, they'll seal the doors and forbid anyone from entering or leaving, and might even set fire to the yurt and its inhabitants.
Song Liyun shook her head. A plague was impossible. No outsiders had appeared yet, so how could a virus appear out of thin air?
She glanced behind the half-open curtain and said, "Don't worry, Granny, they caught a chill, not the plague. Yesterday I saw them running out without fur robes, just wearing padded jackets."
How can someone who rolls around and plays in the wind not get sick?
Granny Qi knew she was overthinking things.
In autumn, the fattest sheep are chosen as offerings to the mountain god, and the Uda tribe certainly cannot be tainted by any impurities.
She was still worried: "Then the young mistress can just stay outside and keep an eye on things, but don't go too close and catch the illness!"
There is a lack of medical care and medicine on the grasslands, so even a common cold is not an option.
Song Liyun nodded: "I understand, I will be careful."
Lady Uya didn't need any reward, so Granny Qi muttered a few words: "They said they were sent here to serve their master, but this kind of fool who doesn't even wear thick clothes just to look good should be sent away and exchanged for cattle and sheep long ago." Then she left!
Song Liyun entered the yurt, which was in complete chaos, and no one noticed her arrival with Wan Youyou.
Although Tang Qingluan, Cao Jing, and Jiang Wanru had flushed faces and fevers, they were clear-headed and energetic, whining and asking for chilled plum juice from Daqianmen and dried apricots from Cuixilou.
Granny Xu said with a stern face, "You all need to calm down for a while. If you keep causing trouble, you won't survive!"
This is a grassland; where in the freezing cold can they find the snacks they want?
Jiang Wanru said in a hoarse voice, "It would be better if he died. He wouldn't have to suffer in this godforsaken place anymore, without even a single thing he wanted."
Tang Qingluan sobbed, "I miss my parents, I want to go back! I want to go back to the Duke's Mansion!"
Song Liyun coughed lightly: "He doesn't seem seriously ill; he still has the energy to beg for food. We don't have chilled plum juice, but we do have dried fruit and frozen pears!"
"Going back or dying is out of the question. But if you want a better life, we can discuss it!"
Upon hearing Song Liyun's voice, the noise in the yurt fell silent, and Granny Xu quickly turned around and bowed: "Young Madam!"
As she spoke, she glanced behind her and saw only Wan Youyou, who had changed her clothes, following behind Song Liyun. There was no one else there, and her heart sank.
When Granny Xu saw the three noble ladies delirious with fever, calling out "Young Master" repeatedly, she wanted to send the message to Song Liyun.
If Zhao Tingduo knew, she might come and take a look, feel pity, and then they could take things further.
It seems that the young master really doesn't care about these three maids at all.
When Xu Mama bowed, Song Liyun waved her hand, signaling her to stand up.
The room was in a mess at the moment. Wan Youyou moved aside a pile of clothes and made room for Song Liyun to sit down: "Young Madam, please sit down and let's talk!"
The three people lying down knew that Song Liyun had arrived, but they did not get up and just lay there groaning.
But Tang Qingluan was lying outside when she looked up and saw Song Liyun and Wan Youyou beside her... her eyes immediately turned red!
Tang Qingluan, not knowing where the strength came from, jumped out of bed. She didn't dare to lash out at Song Liyun, but instead lashed out at Wan Youyou, yelling, "You little slut born of a lowly servant, did you say something to the young master that's why you're ignoring us..."
"Slap... Slap!" Before she could get close, two crisp and pleasant slaps interrupted Tang Qingluan's ramblings.
Song Liyun withdrew her hand and said coldly, "With your shrewish behavior, how can you be the legitimate daughter of the Rongguo Duke's mansion? Even a girl from a street vendor's brothel would be more cultured than you."
She didn't hold back with those two slaps, knocking Tang Qingluan off the bed and leaving her unable to lift her head for a long time.
Song Liyun's sudden outburst of anger not only stunned Jiang Wanru and Cao Jing, who were pretending to be asleep, but also frightened Xu Mama, who stared blankly at Song Liyun.
During these days, Song Liyun always seemed to be smiling, especially in front of Madam Wuya and Zhao Tingduo, where she appeared as a docile and obedient wife, leading them to believe she had a gentle nature.
Unexpectedly, just for Wan Youyou, he didn't even say much before raising his hand to hit her.
Xu Mama scolded Tang Qingluan, "You lowly servant, the young mistress came to visit out of kindness, but you don't know what's good for you, do you want to die!" As she spoke, she pretended to hit her.
Tang Qingluan raised her head, her face bearing half a slap mark, tears and snot streaming down her face.
She was going all out, pointing at Wan Youyou and shouting, "Young Madam, you be the judge! The four of us were sent by the Empress Dowager to serve the young master, but on the way, this slut was flirting with other men and even went to the back of the mountain to fool around."
"When we arrived at the tribe, she fawned over the young master again. Young mistress, I saw with my own eyes that she blocked the young master's horse halfway! This kind of wicked woman is full of evil intentions."
At this point, Tang Qingluan suddenly felt aggrieved. Granny Xu kept a close watch on the three of them, forbidding them from doing this or that, but she didn't bring Wan Youyou back.
The three of them went to the lady's place to serve her meals, and were even scolded as wolves.
Having finally gotten a chance to speak with the young master, not only was she humiliated, but she was also punished by Granny Xu.
She had nowhere to vent her grievances, and could only resent that Wan Youyou had spoken ill of her.
Song Liyun frowned slightly, but her eyes remained calm.
Wan Youyou said she wanted to arrange a marriage for Abu, so she naturally told him everything that happened on the way.
She also questioned Abu, who admitted to taking Miss Wan to the toilet.
However, judging from his bewildered and shy behavior, asking Song Liyun to keep it a secret, he does have feelings for her.
