Chapter 77 Intense Light with Flashes

The skinny Kim Sam-jung was wrapped in a sheepskin robe, making him appear as if he were wearing an invisibility cloak in the snowy night.

The man beside him was wearing a thick cotton-padded coat. His tall frame was hunched over, and he said in a muffled voice, "Jin Laosan, are you sure you're not mistaken? This is a haunted house. If something goes wrong, my brother and I will be eaten by evil spirits."

"Han Da Sha, shut your mouth and don't say anything." Jin Sanzhong's tone was tough, but his heart was still pounding.

Although everyone living in the house was safe and sound, he was still somewhat uneasy.

After all, this used to be a haunted house; two people died in these woods.

The more he thought about it, the more guilty he felt. Kim Sam-jung moved his frozen hands and feet, still gritting his teeth and persevering.

This opportunity was truly rare. He had already inquired and found out that the Song family military household living here consisted of only three siblings.

The youngest one was only a few years old and could be disregarded.

The man was the elder brother. Today, he was forced to drink by Xue Junhu and got so drunk that he had to be carried back.

All that was left was this girl, who seemed strong enough to carry a man on her back.

So what if a woman is incredibly capable?

As long as the two of them barge into the courtyard, beat down the older brother, and then scare him, the younger sister will have no choice but to cry and beg for mercy, obediently handing over the grain and money.

Snowflakes fell softly, and the ground was already white.

The big guy finally couldn't help but urge, "Zhongzi, are we going in or not? We're going to freeze to death if we wait any longer."

"I told you to shut up!"

Kim Sam-joong was both angry and anxious. He regretted asking Da Sha Ge to embolden him.

Han Dashan had only been at the Ji residence for an hour when he began to mutter countless times that there was a ghost there.

Kim Sam-jung suspected that if any evil spirits appeared, they must have been summoned by chanting.

"All you do is talk is stop yelling, stop yelling. We've been wandering around here for an hour already. If we keep going, I suspect you'll have counted all the trees here," Han Dashan muttered discontentedly.

Jin Sanzhong's forehead veins throbbed as he took a deep breath: "Damn it, I'll risk it. If I wait any longer, it'll be almost dawn."

"Big guy, you go to the left and dig a hole near the courtyard wall."

Seeing that he could finally start eating, Han Dashan quickly picked up what he was holding and ran towards the base of the courtyard wall.

Kim Sam-joong followed behind him, glancing left and right, as if afraid that a fierce ghost might jump out.

On the courtyard wall, Song Liyun covered her mouth and yawned.

Beside her, Black Gold, wearing a floral-patterned jacket, lay prone, baring its teeth and grinning down at the ground.

While still in town, Song Liyun noticed someone was following her, but she ignored it, thinking it was just idle gossip.

But that evening, Black Gold told her that there were people in the woods.

This thicket of mixed trees is Black Gold's territory, its daily patrol area, and also where it now relieves itself.

Every branch and every leaf is under its control.

Black Gold can detect even the slightest change.

From the moment they entered the woods until now, every single movement has been clearly observed by Black Gold.

If the two people don't move, it can't move either.

Having been held captive on the wall by Song Liyun for an hour, he was already quite impatient.

Seeing the two people below finally approaching the courtyard wall, he excitedly opened his mouth as if to shout.

Just then, Song Liyun slapped it on the head: Don't get too excited!

Black Gold's strange cry was immediately choked in its throat, and it could only shrink back its neck in a pitiful manner.

Baolin Residence is already a normal residence; we can't afford to give it a reputation as a haunted house.

If Black Gold were allowed to act as he pleased, those two below would definitely be lying dead again.

This was all planned beforehand; we just wanted to scare people and make them back down.

Han Dashan was quick; he darted to the courtyard wall in just a few steps.

He opened the bag in his hand, took out a small hoe, and was about to dig at the base of the wall.

Kim Sam-jung stood guard on the side.

There are evil spirits in this house, so they decided to take an unconventional approach and dig a dog hole in the wall to get in.

Although it takes a bit of time, it's unlikely to violate any taboos.

The walls of the Ji residence were made of blue bricks with rammed earth and stones in the middle. If you dug freely, you could make a hole in half an hour.

However, Song Liyun would not allow them to succeed.

Just as Han Dashan's hoe struck the blue brick for the first time, making a crisp clanging sound, a bright beam of light suddenly enveloped the two of them.

Snowflakes, snow-covered ground, a powerful flashlight with a strobe effect.

Kim Sam-joong, who was directly hit by the beam of light, felt as if he had suddenly hugged the sun and his eyes went blind instantly.

It was all white and I couldn't see anything.

He rubbed his eyes hard and cried out in anguish, "What is that? I... I'm blind! I'm blind!"

Han Dashan, who was digging up the wall, was truly dumbfounded.

Although he was also enveloped in the beam of light, he was on the edge and could still vaguely see things.

However, he still felt it would be better if he were blind; what a terrifying scene that would be.

He saw Kim Sam-jung spinning around with his arms outstretched, his eyes wide open, shouting that he was blind.

Even more terrifying, a child wearing a floral jacket appeared silently beside the tree behind Kim Sam-jung: no, that wasn't a child, it was a monster.

It has a hairy face and round eyes, and its wide-open mouth is split to the roots of its ears, revealing a mouthful of sharp teeth. Its outstretched arms are covered with sharp spikes.

Han Dashan felt his hair stand on end. He yelled, "A ghost!" and turned and ran away.

Hearing Han Dashan's shout, Song Sanchong panicked even more and stumbled headfirst into the woods.

This turned out to be a lucky accident, as it allowed them to escape the range of the beam of light.

But his eyes were already stung by the bright light, causing tears to stream down his face and his vision to blur. Everything around him was a blurry, ghostly figure, which terrified him to the point of being heartbroken.
