Chapter 5 Just Kidding

What Song Liyun didn't know was that when Song Zhang'an was born, his father died and his mother was in critical condition. The child became a jinx, and everyone in the village avoided him.

Strangely enough, ever since Song Zhen'an was born, Madam Gu has never been pregnant again.

Whenever Granny Gu was unhappy, she would curse Little Gu as a barren hen, and Song Lao Er would treat her coldly.

Madam Gu had no words to express her suffering. Giving birth wasn't just her business, so why was everyone targeting her and criticizing her?

This resentment made her hate Song Zhen'an even more, saying that he had ruined the Song family's feng shui and would cause the Song family to die out, and she only wanted to get rid of him as soon as possible.

No matter how much the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law hate each other, there's nothing they can do.

Above him was the village head, representing the law and suppressing him; below him was his elder brother, Song Zhenping, desperately protecting him; and Song Lao Er, greedy for money, was also willing to spare his life.

So even though the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law couldn't kill the child, they still tormented him quite a bit.

Normally, Song Lao Er would pretend not to see it, and the villagers wouldn't interfere in the family affairs, so the two brothers naturally lived a life worse than death.

Granny Gu completely ignored Song Liyun's hateful gaze.

If looks could kill, they would have been torn to pieces by those two little beasts in their families long ago.

Every time they beat the jinx, the cripple would look like he was fighting desperately, his eyes practically bleeding, but he still got beaten and scolded no matter what.

With the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law working together, and given their experience in fighting in the village, capturing the honest and simple Song Liyun would be incredibly easy.

She had even figured out how to slap him: she would definitely use clothing as a pad to avoid leaving any marks.

Seeing the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, each carrying a wooden stick and rope, surrounding them menacingly from the front and back, left and right.

Song Liyun stood up abruptly. Just as Granny Gu's wooden stick swung down, she leaped onto the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed), nimbly dodging the stick, and swiftly turned around...

The kick was swift and vicious. Before the wooden stick in Old Gu's hand could even fall, she only felt the wind rush past her ear, her chin tighten, her head buzzed, her eyes rolled back, and she instantly fell straight down.

Madam Gu had just been about to step forward to help when she saw her mother-in-law fall to the ground. She immediately screamed, "Mother! Someone's been killed!"

She called out for her mother, but instead of going forward, she became like a chubby ball of flesh, dropping the rope and running out of the house.

Song Liyun did not chase after her, but jumped off the kang (a heated brick bed) to check on Granny Gu's condition.

Although her body was strong, she hadn't specifically trained, and her ligament flexibility and limb coordination were still lacking. She didn't want to cause someone's death with a kick like that.

Fortunately, she was light-footed, and Old Madam Gu only fainted. Song Liyun slapped her a few times, and she woke up.

Granny Gu stared at the roof for a long time, still wondering what she was doing and why she was seeing a roof beam when she opened her eyes. Her face was burning with pain.

Before she could even process what was happening, she heard Song Liyun say coolly from the side, "Grandma, the ground is cold. You shouldn't lie down for too long."

"Aaaaaah! Help! That vile slut is going to kill me!"

Old Mrs. Gu finally realized that Song Liyun had kicked her to the ground again.

Remembering the kick that had hit her head, Old Madam Gu was terrified and crawled out of the house screaming in pain.

At the courtyard gate, Madam Gu was also screaming at the top of her lungs, "Murder! Help!"

While frantically trying to unlatch the bolt and run out, he didn't know why, even though the bolt was removed, the door just wouldn't open.

Just as she was panicking, Song Liyun was already beside her, reached out and grabbed her by the collar, and chuckled, "Second Aunt, what are you afraid of?"

Thinking of her mother-in-law, who had been kicked to death by Song Liyun, Little Gu felt her legs go weak, and her plump body immediately went limp: "Help..."

Farmers have little privacy.

Song Liyun jumped into the water in the morning, but not many people gathered around to watch the spectacle.

But the aunties and grandmas running around the back courtyard had already spread the news through door-to-door promotion.

From the moment Granny Gu and Little Gu returned home, the neighbors all pricked up their ears to listen to what was going on at Song Lao Er's house.

Everyone knows that the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law of Song Lao Er's family hate the eldest son's children to the core.

Now that Song Liyun has caused so much trouble, she's bound to cause a scene.

They need to listen carefully, lest Granny Gu and her accomplice cause another death.

Persistence pays off. Before they had to wait long, shouts of "Kill me, save me!" came from Song Lao Er's courtyard.

But this voice... it sounds like the Gu family mother-in-law and daughter-in-law shouting. What happened to the Song family?

The eavesdroppers looked at each other in bewilderment.

The Gu family, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, have always been strong-willed and domineering, always finding a reason to justify themselves.

When the women fought, they would fight together, and almost no one in Xiaoshi Village could defeat them.

The fact that someone is suddenly shouting for help behind closed doors is too suspicious, and the neighbors are afraid to go near them.

If you happen to see something you shouldn't, and this unreasonable mother-in-law and daughter-in-law hold a grudge, they might come knocking on your door to cause trouble later. That would be asking for trouble.

The two Gu family members' cries for help were intermittent and didn't last long before they stopped, and then the courtyard fell into dead silence.

Just as the people around were getting impatient, the sound of a heavy door opening came from Song Lao Er's house.

The person who opened the door was Song Liyun, who had changed her clothes.

She opened the door and glanced to the left and right, and sure enough, she saw a group of people hurriedly trying to escape.

The villagers were bored and couldn't bear to miss out on something like this.

Seeing Song Liyun open the door so openly, some people boldly asked, "Yun girl, what are your grandma and the others shouting about? It sounds really creepy."

Song Liyun smiled and said, "Aunt Zhang, don't be afraid. I was so happy to come back that I accidentally spilled some beans, which made Grandma and Second Aunt scold me and say that I was playing too wildly and they wanted to beat me up."
