Chapter 24
As soon as the New Year’s Eve dinner was over, Yan Yuheng pulled Mo Yousen upstairs to watch the fireworks. Yan Yuheng always liked the lively atmosphere. He gently put his arm around Mo Yousen’s shoulders and let him lean on him.
They stood quietly in front of the French window, watching the noisy crowd in the yard below. The whole house was filled with the joy of welcoming the New Year. Mo Yousen stood up straight and raised his head slightly to look into Yan Yuheng's eyes. Yan Yuheng didn't understand what was going on. He squeezed Mo Yousen's hand, which was hanging by his side, and asked softly, "What's wrong?"
Mo Yousen held the hand that Yan Yuheng was pinching, his eyes firm, "Yan Yuheng, why are you so good to me? You bathe me, put on clothes and socks for me, shave me, trim my eyebrows, and feed me when I don't want to eat. You are always more nervous than me when I am unhappy. You remember what I like and dislike better than me. Are you...are you..."
With every word Mo Yousen said, Yan Yuheng's heart sank a little, until his heart sank to the bottom of the sea, as if he was drowning and couldn't breathe. Yan Yuheng hardened his heart and said in a hoarse voice, "Yes! I just like you! Have you just realized it now? We always sleep together when we go out. Which brothers would hug each other when they sleep? Every time you feel uncomfortable or unhappy, I will kiss your forehead to comfort you. Which good friends would kiss each other? No matter where we are, I will hold your hand and hug you, and my eyes will always follow you. Which childhood friend would be so ambiguous!?"
Yan Yuheng's chest rose and fell, his breath spraying on Mo Yousen's face. He had originally planned to wait until Mo Yousen went to college to formally confess his feelings to him, but everything was disrupted. But it didn't matter. The sooner he said it, the sooner he could exercise his boyfriend's power.
Mo Yousen's eyes were filled with dark currents, and a complex array of emotions flashed across his face. Surprise, anxiety, guilt, struggle, and uncertainty shifted repeatedly in his expression. Mo Yousen moved his lips as if he wanted to say something, but he scratched his hair in frustration and never uttered a word.
Yan Yuheng looked at him, hesitant to speak, his heart boiling. He grabbed Mo Yousen's shoulders and looked him straight in the face. Every word he said was like a hot stone sliding down from the top of a mountain and hitting Mo Yousen. "You like me too! Mo Yousen! Don't hide your emotions and don't hide me... okay?"
Mo Yousen closed his eyes resignedly. Yes, Yan Yuheng was so smart, he must have noticed it long ago. But why didn't he tell me earlier? It was too late now. How could I, as I am now, be worthy of the brilliant Yan Yuheng? Should I admit it or not?
Mo Yousen made up his mind and thought, it doesn't matter. After all, all the people in this world who truly loved him have left, and he only has Yan Yuheng left. If Yan Yuheng doesn't like him anymore in the future, he can still watch him be happy as his younger brother.
A bunch of fireworks just happened to rise in front of the French window. Mo Yousen opened his eyes, held Yan Yuheng's face in his hands, and said with a bright gaze, "I like it. Good."
Mo Yousen stood on tiptoe and gently kissed Yan Yuheng on the lips. Yan Yuheng was almost on fire. He held up Mo Yousen's face with one hand, and secretly exerted force with his left arm to hold him in his arms. The restlessness in his eyes was reflected in Mo Yousen's pupils. Yan Yuheng kissed Mo Yousen heavily on the lips, his upper lip stroking Mo Yousen's lower lip, and the tip of his tongue deftly pried open Mo Yousen's teeth and drilled in flexibly.
The two kissed passionately in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, and brilliant fireworks exploded in the air. The colorful lights came through the floor-to-ceiling window and sprinkled on the two of them, painting the room like a colorful canvas.
"Happy New Year!" The shouts from the courtyard reached their ears, and the laughter amidst the fireworks mingled with their ears, the outline of happiness looming. Yan Yuheng slightly separated the distance between their lips, lowered his head and smiled at the person in his arms, his eyes ambiguous as he said, "Happy New Year, baby, I love you."
Mo Yousen smiled broadly as he leaned over to Yan Yuheng and kissed him again. If this was a dream, Mo Yousen hoped it would never end. If they ever separated in the future, he would just bury this day in his heart as a dream...
Pei Man waited downstairs for the two to come down to set off the fireworks, but no one responded to her messages. She felt uneasy, wondering if something had happened to Mo Yousen. She hurriedly gave Yan Yuan a few words and went upstairs to look for them. From the courtyard to the house, Pei Man strode forward, her phone clutched tightly, her brow furrowed.
When Yan Yuheng was about to raise his hand to knock on the door, Pei Man heard a faint panting sound coming from inside the house. Pei Man's heart was shocked. She reached out and stroked her stomach, calmed down, and pushed open the door.
Before the two people in the room could separate, Mo Yousen leaned against Yan Yuheng in disheveled clothes, his face flushed as he stared blankly at the door. Yan Yuheng stood in front of the French window with his eyes wide open, as if someone outside had interrupted his good time. When Yan Yuheng saw the person outside, his face was filled with surprise, his heart was in turmoil, and he trembled as he said, "Mom... I..."
Mo Yousen came to his senses and pushed Yan Yuheng away fiercely. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, "Auntie, I'm sorry, it's my fault. I was the one who took the initiative..."
Yan Yuheng roared, "Bullshit!" Yan Yuheng looked at Pei Man with a half-smile and a dim look in his eyes, "Mom, I've had a crush on him for a long time. I forced him to do it."
Pei Man stood at the door, her eyes suddenly turning scarlet, her pale fingers gripping the door frame tightly, her body like a violent storm. She let out a low, mocking sound from her nose, her eyes swept between the two of them, and she slowly stepped back.
Pei Man stumbled down the corridor, screaming loudly, "Yan Yuan! Yan Yuan! Yan Yuan!!!" Pei Man walked unsteadily, her left foot tripping over her right, "Ah!! Yan Yuan!! It hurts! Yan Yuan!!"
Yan Yuheng and Mo Yousen rushed out of the room upon hearing the noise. Yan Yuheng panicked and hugged Pei Man with trembling hands, "Mom! I'll call an ambulance! Just hold on."
Everything happened unexpectedly. In a flash, Mo Yousen fell from heaven to hell. He stared blankly at the blood flowing out of his body... Yan Yuheng hugged Pei Man with tears in his eyes, holding Pei Man's hand tightly. Pei Man gasped for breath while enduring the pain with a grim face.
Mo Yousen laughed mockingly in his heart. "I'm such an unlucky person! Whoever gets close to me will be unlucky, and whoever treats me well will be unlucky." First it was Mom, then Grandpa, and now Pei Man. What about after that? Will it be Yan Yuheng?
I really hate the New Year. Every time I say Happy New Year, I get a little more unlucky. I really hate the New Year. But it’s okay. After today, no one will say Happy New Year to me anymore. Everything is over...
