Chapter 174: The Secret of the Old Hospital 35
It was a dark and windy night.
On the edge of the city, a long-abandoned hospital stands alone in the desolate landscape, as if telling a story unknown to the public. Named Hope, it was once the only medical facility in the area. However, as the city expanded, people gradually moved away, and the hospital fell into disrepair.
Now, it's a forbidden place people shudder to mention. It's said that a series of bizarre disappearances have occurred within the hospital, and strange noises are often heard at night. Consequently, the place has become shrouded in mystery, earning it the nickname "haunted house."
However, there are no absolute secrets in the world, and the truth behind this hospital has gradually surfaced.
One cold night, a young explorer, filled with passion, entered the abandoned hospital. His name was Li Hao, a scholar specializing in the study of mysterious events. He was convinced that the hospital held a profound secret, a secret that could change the world.
Li Hao walked through the desolate garden and pushed open the hospital's door. The hinges creaked, as if telling something. He walked cautiously inside and looked around. The lights were dim, and some old medical equipment was scattered on the ground, making it look particularly eerie.
He walked along the corridor when he suddenly heard a strange sound, like someone crying. He looked around nervously but saw no one. However, the sound became clearer and clearer, as if it were right next to his ear.
He clenched his fists nervously and continued walking forward. He knew he was getting closer to the truth.
At the end of the corridor, there was an elevator. The elevator door was open, and it was pitch black inside, making it impossible to see what was inside. Li Hao hesitated for a moment, but decided to go in. He was convinced that the truth was beneath the elevator.
He pressed the button and the elevator slowly descended. He felt that he was approaching a huge secret.
However, when he stepped out of the elevator, he found himself in an unfamiliar place. It was a basement, surrounded by closed walls with no exit. He suddenly felt a sense of despair.
At this moment, he heard footsteps, and then a man in a white coat walked in. This man looked to be in his forties, with a haggard face, but his eyes revealed a determined light.
He looked at Li Hao and said lightly: "You are finally here."
Li Hao looked at him suspiciously and asked, "Who are you? Where is this place?"
The man smiled and said, "I am the director of this hospital. This is the hospital's underground laboratory. We are conducting a major experiment here: immortality."
Li Hao looked at him in shock, unable to believe his ears. He asked, "Eternal life? Is that possible?"
The dean smiled and said, "We've made a major breakthrough in our experiments. We've successfully made some animals immortal. Now, we're preparing to conduct human trials."
Li Hao's emotions became complicated. He knew that if this experiment succeeded, it would bring about a huge change for humanity. But at the same time, he also knew that if it failed, it would bring unimaginable disaster to humanity.
He looked at the dean and said firmly, "I must stop you."
The dean smiled and said, "It's too late for you."
As he spoke, he pressed the button in his hand, and the elevator door slowly closed. Li Hao looked at him, his heart filled with despair. He knew that he might never be able to leave this place.
However, he did not give up. He began to look for an exit in the basement. He believed that as long as he persisted, he would always find a way out.
In this abandoned hospital, Li Hao began his life-and-death struggle, knowing that he had to defeat the dean in order to stop his crazy plan.
And all this is just the beginning.
