Chapter 513 Anna Kingsford

Chapter 513 Anna Kingsford

February 17th, early morning.

Edward went to the Hall of Silver and Tin, said goodbye to Queen Isabelle and Edwards, and then went to Lloyd's Quarter, preparing to take a boat from Lloyd's Harbour to Iris.

Aiwass, Lily, and Sherlock loaded their luggage and boarded their griffins, preparing to fly to Summer County, the westernmost county of Avalon. From there, they planned to board the scheduled ferry to the Theocracy.

Of course, it's possible to have the Griffins fly them directly to their destination, but that would be a bit rude—after all, the Griffins were considered Avalon's top-tier troops, so it was equivalent to taking an attack helicopter directly to their destination.

Edward was on a diplomatic mission to Iris, while Aiwass was going to the Church to study and express gratitude. Considering that Avalon was still at war, it would be better for them to keep a low profile regarding their actions towards friendly nations.

And riding a griffin is definitely not as comfortable as a ferry.

Even so, the news that Minister Moriarty was about to go to the Theocracy spread quickly.

It wasn't that Avalon's reporters had any unique access to information. This was something Aiwass had deliberately spread... through Editor-in-Chief Dimitri, whom he had personally promoted. Now that Aiwass was gone, if there were still some ulterior motives hidden in Avalon, they would be easily deceived by this news.

They didn't know how long Aiwass would stay in the Theocracy - time waits for no one.

Although Aiwass had used this trick once before, a good trick never gets old. As long as it is used well, humans have no memory.

On the ferry, Aiwass, wearing a priest's robe, looked at the shimmering water in the distance and fell into deep thought.

While chatting last night, Isabel told Aiwass all the secrets she got from the promotion ceremony.

Professor Moriarty certainly couldn't obtain intelligence directly from the promotion ceremony...but the mysterious knowledge he shared with Isabel didn't seem entirely out of good intentions. Perhaps after learning something, Aiwass's actions would lean towards Professor Moriarty's expectations...this wasn't impossible.

...But from another perspective, this is indeed extremely valuable information.

"Cicada Shell", "Endless Knot", "Sarsara Celestial Master"... these were all things Aiwass didn't know. Yet, they happened to corroborate the few remaining impressions that Aiwass already knew.

The Cicada Shedding event marks the first recorded change of ownership of a Pillar God in history. Only the earliest intelligent races witnessed this event. It's arguably the world's greatest secret.

Compared with the two events of [Forbidden Fruit] and [Royal Power], the most special thing about [Cicada Shell] is that it replaced several pillar gods at the same time.

As far as is known, the Lord of Scales and Feathers, Amber, Wei Zhe, the Beast Master, and Supreme Heaven all ascended to the position of Pillar God from that incident. And from the secrets that Aiwass vaguely knew, the Snake Father and the Hourglass were also closely related to this incident, and they were kept secret...

The only two pillar gods who can be confirmed to have nothing to do with [Cicada Shell] are Sizhu and Shuangshengjing, who have existed since the most ancient past.

Only a handful of immortal species, such as giant dragons, now remember the secret of the Cicada Shell. Even the Candle Library of the Theocracy remains vague on the subject.

Some say it was a war to unite, others say it was a sacrifice to divide. But perhaps the original war was a sacrifice, and the cup was filled with the blood of the enemy.

Professor Moriarty is actually trying to access the Cicada Shell, and has even learned about the "Endless Knot." Could it be that the secret treasures he's after are the "Endless Knot"?

"What are you thinking about?"

Just then, Sherlock walked up to Aiwass with a sour face.

He reached out and put his elbow on Aiwass's shoulder.

Aiwass pushed his elbow down in annoyance, but Sherlock was very careful and placed his elbow on the other shoulder.

"I was thinking, you're really petty."

Aiwass complained.

"I suppose you're not thinking of Her Majesty at least."

Sherlock raised an eyebrow: "Isn't it, Xiangrui?"

"...You won't call me a foxy seducer this time?"

"You said it yourself. Foxes are auspicious signs—are you unhappy about that?"

Aiwass smacked his lips and pinched Sherlock's neck with his backhand.

He said with a forced smile, then pinched his neck: "Your shoulder is quite tired, let me help you heal it."

Although the first blow was particularly heavy and made him scream in pain, Aiwass really massaged Sherlock afterwards, so Sherlock squatted down and held the railing on the deck.

"I suppose," Sherlock said suddenly, "you're worried about the future."

"Part of it."

Aiwass smiled.

Part of it is the past—the past before humans came into being.

Sherlock suddenly asked, "Thinking about the professor?"

Aiwass was a little surprised and looked at Sherlock: "How did you guess that?"

And he quickly reacted: "Isabelle asked you, right?"

Given Isabel's meticulousness, she would have noticed that she was wary of the professor. She would not have told herself everything the professor had told her, and would have asked a mutual, trustworthy friend who could absolutely keep the secret.

It could only be Sherlock.

"What I told Your Majesty was to speak frankly. For a wise man, difficulties are always easier to resolve than misunderstandings."

Sherlock didn't look up at Aiwass. He remained crouched on the ground, his hands on the railing. With a gesture reminiscent of tears behind bars, he gazed out at the distant sea and said lazily, "Rather than leaving you to guess what she's hiding, it's better to reveal everything and then analyze it."

"So, have you figured out anything?"

"Part of it."

Sherlock gave a reserved smile and gave an answer that surprised Aiwass.

This time Aiwass was really surprised.

Given Sherlock's character, if he had only found out a little bit, he wouldn't tell Aiwass. When he said "a little", it meant that he had already found out a lot.

It’s only been one short day!

Or...

"—You were already doubting my father?"

"I told Edward about it a long time ago. He almost killed me."

Sherlock said quietly, "Of course, those things have been given to Edward to destroy. I couldn't possibly deceive him and deliberately leave a backup that could be found and used to attack him."

As he spoke, he tilted his head complacently and tapped his head with his hand: "But do I need those things? No, not at all.

"A document I read once is etched in my mind. It's true that the evidence and documents were destroyed, but I remember every word and every punctuation mark.

"After receiving the information from His Majesty, I went back to sort it out... and sure enough, I discovered something."

Looking at the smug Sherlock, Aiwass suddenly understood why he disappeared from the "empty house".

He became interested and really dared to check anything!

Although he wanted to criticize his risky behavior, Aiwass wisely kept silent - if Sherlock got angry, it would be bad if he didn't tell him the results of his investigation.

In short, get the stuff out first and then criticize.

"So," Aiwass asked with interest, "what did you find out?"

"A very crucial point."

Sherlock didn't keep the question in suspense, but answered quickly: "Your sister, Freya Moreu Moriarty - she is actually Professor Moriarty's biological daughter... Well, judging from your reaction, you already know?"

"Indeed, and then?"

"Aren't you curious about who her mother is?" Sherlock asked.

"...To be honest, I am a little curious."

Aiwass nodded and spoke from the heart.

For a man who is so deep-minded and emotionally indifferent, what kind of person can make him fall in love?

At least as far as Aiwass understood Professor Moriarty, the man had no personal desires at all.

"That's a witch from the realm of love. Her name is Anna Kingsford, and she's an Astronaut. Based on inaccurate information, I believe she's a member of the Rosicrucian Order."

Sherlock answered smoothly, "And she has another identity... that is, she is the original founder of the Avalon civilian supernatural organization [Golden Dawn].

"—Yes, that Golden Dawn of Jacob, Mathers, and Yeats."
