Ending Remarks

Put what readers care about most first——

8,500 words updated today. I'll be taking three days off. I'll start updating Volume 2 at 12:00 PM on the 9th. The keywords for Volume 2 are Theocracy, Archaeology, Star Antimony, Empire, Iris, Tail Ring Ceremony, and I'm begging for monthly votes.

Then friends who have time to listen to the cat chat can sit down and listen to the cat chatter.

Four hundred and forty-two chapters, one million and four hundred and thirty thousand words, the first volume of this book ends.

I've been writing books for ten years, and this is undoubtedly the longest volume I've ever written...

But Maomao is also very satisfied... Whether it is the grades, income or the growth of writing skills, he is very satisfied!

Let me report on the results. This volume has averaged over 22,000 subscriptions so far, and the lowest number of subscriptions has been over 8,000. This is my best result so far, three to four times higher than the next best player's during the same period. I'm really grateful to everyone!

To be honest, Amu was my creative low point.

I've said before that I hope to write about something different with each book, to try enough while I'm young so that I don't have to take risks when I'm older and my creativity declines.

When I was writing this book, The Shepherd's Tantra, which in some sense combines the advantages of books like Mercury and Player, it also meant that my physical condition and creative state had declined significantly.

Readers of my earliest work, Blood of Mercury, will know that Cat's mental state back then was clearly not very good. Players were also very anxious during the Super Justice era, and the content was simply piling up—as soon as I saw a drop in follow-up reading, I thought I was writing too slowly, so I immediately started a new storyline or a new dungeon.

The result was that the amount of players communicating about the plot, which might have been high before, became less and less, and the amount of players following the story dropped further. I felt that I had to speed it up further... This cycle became even more obvious when we reached the tower.

Out of some kind of obsessive-compulsive disorder, during the Toppling Tower period, I was focused on "telling a story in a month." This was because when I was a player, I often felt that the plot was longer than the word count of the outline I wrote, so I hoped to "dehydrate" it in this way.

The result was that I wrote it in a hurry. Many areas that could have been explored further were quickly skipped because of the need to keep up the pace, with the goal of achieving a structure of "one volume in a month, one volume as a complete story."

It can be said that he is a bit crazy.

By the end of the Tower, when Russell reconciled with himself, I had almost reconciled with myself. I finally realized that perhaps I was not too slow, but too fast - I was too impatient.

Although cats look lazy, I actually have a quick temper. It's just that I'm a softie, so I usually get angry at myself.

Life has repeatedly crushed me, but it has made me softer and more comfortable. If you dare to mess with me, you're kicking cotton.jpg

For example, when I was playing mobile games, I couldn't save up enough resources for card draws. I knew I wanted to skip the pool, but if there were too many resources, I couldn't help but want to draw cards. I couldn't help myself at all.

And perhaps because Mao’s mortgage was paid off by the time he reached the tower… Mao’s creative state also became noticeably more relaxed.

I think the most important improvement of The Pastor is that the narrative rhythm has become more comfortable.

Because my writing style is very casual, similar to travel notes, it is difficult for me to write a concise and powerful story like other authors. This is why I tried to refine myself into a compressed towel during my time in the tower.

And obviously, my attempt failed.

So I chose to reconcile - just go slow, there will also be readers who like to read warm stories full of details and a slow pace.

The main focus is on companionship.

But I also learned a lot from the tower, one of which is the narrative that revolves around the core of the story.

The narrative core of this volume is the "glass steps".

The rules of Avalon, the traditions of Avalon... Starting from the first chapter, those unreasonable things were all answered in the later plots; and those unreasonable rules and traditions were also shattered by Aiwass one by one.

Although the player's copy should be more interesting than Amu's - after all, it is the work accumulated by the cat for more than 20 years, and this cannot be denied. I almost died after writing the player's copy, because I felt like I had drained myself and was completely ruined. Fortunately, I slowly recovered after passing the tower.

Based on previous experience and lessons learned, Amu's narrative should be obviously much more comfortable and more organized than that of the players.

Of course, there are some new shortcomings that need to be corrected, which I have found and recorded.

It's very comforting to discover my own shortcomings, because it makes me feel that I can still grow. I can feel that I am still alive and that my heart is full of vitality, rather than gradually decaying.

Then I said that I would take three days off.

On the first day, because the epidemic seemed to be quite severe in Po County, I went to get a vaccine, get a haircut, and visit my grandma. My hair has grown so long that it covers my eyes, turning me into a gloomy man. After that, I took a day off and watched mygo, which I haven't watched yet. On the third day, I started writing the detailed outline of the beginning of the second volume.

I will take three days off on June, July and August, and will resume updating at noon on the 9th.

Finally, I would like to share my book list. I have shared part of it before, and now I will write a formal one.

These are the books I've been reading and have finished recently. Of course, these books don't represent book recommendations, they are just shared, and do not represent my endorsement of the author, the book, or its position.

Dip armor, pass!
