"What's going on? You're hiding such a big thing from me!"
As soon as Chrisel entered the palace, he was told that the Book of Clouds and Mist had split.
Before Chrisel broke into the room, Yunwushu slowly threw the empty inhibitor into the trash can. The glass tube was clearly printed with "Omega Camouflage Agent-Type III".
"How is it? Do you feel something is wrong? Why didn't you tell me?"
Chrisel grabbed his thin shoulders with both hands, his fingertips trembling uncontrollably. He didn't dare to think about what would happen if the Cloud Book failed to differentiate successfully.
The glands were throbbing under the suppression, and Yunwushu could hear the sound of the inhibitors boiling in his blood vessels.
Yun Wushu suppressed his discomfort and said, "I'm fine."
He saw that the barrier patch on the neck of the Yunwu book was slightly lifted up, revealing the unhealed needle holes on the glands - seventeen of them.
Yunwushu raised his pale face, letting his hair brush against Chrisel's chin, and he leaned weakly against Chrisel.
Chrisel took two steps forward, looked at his frown, and simply took him into her arms.
As Chrisel's fingertips brushed against the row of pinholes, the Cloud Book suddenly rested against his neck.
The omega disguise screamed in his blood, and he tasted the gentle woody scent of Kristel's pheromones.
"Don't touch there." Yun Wushu rubbed the pulsating artery with the tip of his nose, and the scent of camellia gently wafted from the back of his neck.
He felt Chrisel's muscles tense instantly. His Alpha instinct was being absorbed in the scent of camellia, but his rationality was alerting him to the dangerous truth.
Chrisel's Adam's apple rolled under Yunwushu's lips. The moment the fragrance of camellia seeped into his pores, he vaguely saw white camellias all over the mountains under the moonlight.
"You, stay with me for a while, just for a while."
The gentle voice picks up and pieces together the scattered thoughts.
Pushing the hair off his cheek, she said, "Well, go to sleep."
Yunwushu didn't lie down either, but leaned on his shoulder.
Moonlight slanted in from the floor-to-ceiling windows, pinning tangled shadows to the relief wall.
After sitting there for an unknown amount of time, Chrisel smelled a sweet, fishy smell. It wasn't camellia, but the smell of inhibitors burning blood vessels seeping out from the edge of the barrier patch.
Only then did he realize that the fabric on Yunwushu's back was soaked with cold sweat, sticking to his butterfly bones, and rising and falling like a dying butterfly with his suppressed coughs.
"Someone, call the doctor!" Chrisel laid Yunwushu flat on the bed.
The servant came in with the doctor, "Sir, please wait outside first." Chrisel was asked to leave by the doctor.
"Why is it so serious?"
The doctor noticed the injection in the trash can and said, "If you take three injections of type III inhibitors in a row, they will..."
"My whole body will be hemolyzed." Yun Wushu suddenly opened his eyes and chuckled, his eyelashes brushing against him like a cold blade. "But what if they find out I'm a 3S-level alpha?"
The air froze.
Indeed, Yunwushu did not want to reveal that he was an alpha, not only because he did not want Chrisel to know, but also because he did not want the people who had finally settled down to live in chaos again.
Once someone with ulterior motives knew that the Star Lord had differentiated into an alpha, they would definitely make a big fuss about it, especially when Chrisel, an outsider, was handling political affairs.
"Since you have seen it, just destroy it." Yunwushu had a headache and didn't want to say too much.
The doctor's rubber gloves made a crisp sound when they knocked against the metal tray, and the smell of disinfectant pierced the camellia fragrance in the room.
Yun Wushu propped up his elbow, and cold sweat slid down his spine into the gaps in the bandages, causing a stinging pain.
When Chrisel pushed the door open, she saw the doctor pushing the last lavender potion into the vein.
Yunwushu's face was sunken in the feather pillow, and the moonlight stretched the shadow of his eyelashes into thorns, entwining around Chrisel's suddenly contracted pupils.
"How is he?" Chrisel wiped the cold sweat from Yunwushu's forehead with a handkerchief.
"The Star Master's body was already severely depleted. Although this differentiation process accelerated the metabolism of the Star Master's cells, it consumed too much energy. He now needs to rest."
The doctor chose his words carefully, catching a glimpse of Yun Wushu's warning eyes. "Avoid any stimulation for at least two weeks."
Chrisel's fingers unconsciously stroked Yunwushu's wrist, where the pulse was as faint as the fluttering of a butterfly's wings. "Fortunately, you are an omega, fortunately."
Hearing this, the doctor packed up his things guiltily and left, while Yunwushu looked up at Chrisel.
In the end, he said nothing.
After an unknown amount of time, there was a very light knock on the door, followed by the subordinate's deliberately lowered voice: "Sir, this is urgent news. You need to handle it immediately."
Kristel's body tensed instantly.
Duty and selfishness collided violently in my chest.
He glanced at Yunwushu, who seemed to be in a deep sleep on the bed, but was as fragile as glass and would break at the touch of a finger. There was a strong struggle between his brows.
Chrisel took a deep breath, but the cool air mixed with a faint smell of disinfectant could not dispel the tightness in his chest.
He finally stood up slowly, his movements so gentle as if he was afraid of disturbing the air. He tucked the corner of the quilt for Yun Wushu, and his fingertips suddenly withdrew when they were about to touch his cheek.
The heavy carved wooden door closed silently, isolating the two worlds inside and outside the room.
Just as the door lock made a slight "click", Yunwushu, who was "sleeping" on the bed, suddenly opened his eyes.
There was no longer any trace of sleepiness or weakness in those eyes, only cold clarity and a hint of desperate determination.
After confirming that Chriselle's breath had faded, he suddenly raised his hand, his movements almost violently eager, and tore off the obstructing patch behind his neck! As if breaking free from some invisible restraint.
