The news from the battlefield became more and more severe day by day. The Zerg's attack became more and more fierce. Their numbers far exceeded the estimates in the intelligence. The dense black shadows covered the sky and almost obscured the entire sky. The situation on Blue Star became more and more complicated.
The base is not far from the battlefield. The news of the transfer has been received, and the military has ordered the people in the base to evacuate within today.
Soldiers were moving back and forth in the base, busy preparing to evacuate supplies. Cheng Yu stood on the base's watchtower, his eyes always following the faint flames of war that could be seen in the distance.
"Brother Cheng Yu, it's dangerous here, let's retreat quickly!" It was one of Bai Yan's soldiers, younger than Cheng Yu, and Bai Yan didn't let him go to the battlefield with him.
He ignored the crowd below who were hastily evacuating, nor did he respond to the soldiers below who were calling out to him.
"Brother Yu! Listen to me, it will be too late if we don't leave now!" The young soldier stood under the tower, his voice full of anxiety.
Cheng Yu still didn't move. He gripped the tower railing tightly and said coldly, "Go away. I have my own plans."
The young soldier gritted his teeth, but finally gave up and hurriedly turned around to join the evacuating crowd.
As night fell and the evacuation operation neared its end, the soldiers began to leave the base in batches on transport planes.

Cheng Yu walked around the crowd and headed alone towards the jungle outside the base. His figure seemed lonely in the night, but every step he took was firm.
In the jungle, the sounds of Zerg could be faintly heard, and the air was filled with a smell of corruption.
Cheng Yu gripped the gun tightly in his hand, and stroked the name on the handle with his fingertips. That was his name engraved by Bai Yan himself.
The touch of the cold metal made his thoughts pause for a moment, but his eyes were still full of determination.
"Wait for me..." He murmured softly, with a hint of coldness in his tone.
The figure quickly shuttled through the jungle, and the hissing sound of the Zerg was sometimes far away and sometimes near.
Cheng Yu was keenly aware of the danger around him and walked steadily and quickly.
In the night, the shadows of the jungle clung to him like living things.
Just as he was approaching an open area, he suddenly heard a slight "buzzing" sound in his ears.
He stopped suddenly, held his breath, and observed the movements around him.
In the bushes not far away, a strange red light flashed by.
He narrowed his eyes, immediately hid on the spot, and quietly switched the gun in his hand to silent mode.
The next second, a strong light pierced the darkness, accompanied by the humming sound of machinery.
Before he could react, several electric nets shot out from all directions and surrounded him.
"Target locked, number NO-0003." A cold mechanical voice came.
Cheng Yu's eyes narrowed, and he was about to resist, but he felt the electric current instantly paralyzed his limbs.
He struggled to stand up, but a familiar and disgusting smell rushed into his nose - it was the special anesthetic made by the institute.
Cheng Yu gradually lost consciousness. In his last glance, he saw several researchers in white protective suits dragging him into an invisible transport vehicle.
When he woke up again, he was trapped in a transparent experimental cabin.
Surrounding it were cold metal walls, and outside the cabin was a group of indifferent researchers.
The researcher pushed up his glasses, a sneer crossing his face. "Finally, we were able to bring you back."
Cheng Yu shook his dizzy head and finally saw the person in front of him clearly.
It’s He Xu.
His red pupils shrank slightly, and he tried to break free, but found that his hands and feet were firmly fixed with metal locks.
Cheng Yu's eyes were as cold as a knife: "Bai Yan will not let you go."
He Xu sneered, "Bai Yan? He's busy dealing with the Zerg right now, how could he care about you? Don't overestimate your own value."
He pushed his glasses and looked at Cheng Yu in the experimental cabin with indifference.
"Do you think we'll let you get away so easily?" His tone was filled with a morbid confidence. "Don't struggle. This is the deepest experimental area of the institute. Even if Bai Yan has supernatural powers, he won't be able to find you."
Cheng Yu raised his eyes and looked straight at him. There was no fear in his eyes, only cold sarcasm: "This rotten place, sooner or later, I will blow it up to the sky."
He Xu was stunned for a moment after hearing this, then laughed out loud: "Cheng Yu, you are really different from before, but you should know that you are just an experimental subject of the research institute. The power you have today is all given by us."
His tone was as if he regarded himself as a creator like God.
The robotic arm in the experimental chamber began to move, and a needle flashing with cold light descended from the ceiling and slowly pierced Cheng Yu's neck.
"Hybrid genetic modification experiment started." A cold mechanical voice echoed in the laboratory, and the progress bar on the data screen began to grow slowly.
"Monitor his brain waves and gene chain activity." He Xu stared at the data screen and impatiently instructed the researchers beside him.
"The target gene is incredibly stable," the researcher next to He Xu exclaimed. "There's almost no rejection reaction. He's a perfect test subject!"
Of course." He Xu pushed his glasses, a hint of excitement flashing in his eyes.
"Cheng Yu is our carefully selected 'work'. Even if he betrays us, his body still belongs to us."

At the same time, the fighting on the battlefield became more and more intense, and corpses were everywhere.
"General, the defense of the Zerg core area is extremely strong, and they are constantly reproducing, just like single-celled organisms undergoing mitosis!" Bai Yan's deputy reported through the communicator, with a hint of anxiety in his tone.
Bai Yan, dressed in black armor, stood at the highest point of the front line, watching the battle situation in the distance with a cold gaze.
"Let the Fifth Legion go to reinforce immediately." Bai Yan ordered in a deep voice, and with a wave of the light sword in his hand, he cut a Zerg that was approaching into two halves.
