Chapter 128 Negotiation

A villa somewhere in Hurley Blue Star.

Ulis stood in front of a huge holographic map with a frown on his face. Several red dots flashed on the map, marking experimental bases and important locations.

He looked unhappy, as gloomy as a thunderstorm that could break out at any moment.

He had just received news from his men that the person had been successfully dealt with.

"They don't suspect anything?"

Ulis nodded with satisfaction, and a big stone in his heart finally fell to the ground. Although he had lost several experimental bases, as long as he did not expose himself, he would have something to worry about.

"No, and it has been confirmed that the person in the laboratory did not leak the information." The subordinate bowed his head respectfully.

Ulis narrowed his eyes and looked at several key points marked on the map, "I don't think they dare."

Those people's families were all in his hands, and they didn't dare hand him over.

But Bai Yan and his men are by no means easy opponents and have always been good at planning.

"Send more personnel to monitor the area around the central building, and contact our undercover agents to confirm the situation." Ulis ordered in a deep voice.

"yes."

Unlike the cool-toned layout of the Ulis Villa, Bai Yan's study is immersed in warm light.

A cup of still-warm tea sat on the dark wood desk, and a holographic screen on the wall displayed a complex data stream.

"Ulis, it's me." His tone was cold, with a hint of impatience.

Ulis on the opposite side was visibly stunned for a moment, then chuckled softly, "Master Bai, why did you think of contacting me?"

Bai Yan's eyes darkened slightly, and his tone was calm but intimidating, "Why, haven't you always wanted me to take sides and agree to restart the genetic experiment?"

When Ulis heard this, the smile in his eyes disappeared instantly, replaced by a deep vigilance.

"So, Master Bai agrees?" They had proposed this idea several years ago, but Bai Yan had always disagreed.

Bai Yan chuckled, "Of course there are conditions." If there were no conditions, he would be suspicious.

"Conditions?" Ulis raised his eyebrows slightly. "Master Bai, for so many years, you have always avoided standing on the same side with me. I am a little surprised that you suddenly put forward conditions today."

Bai Yan's eyes remained calm, but his tone held a hint of oppression: "I've said before that cooperation isn't a unilateral decision. If you want me to support you and restart the genetic experiment, you'll have to pay the corresponding price."

He paused, his eyes darkening. “Be direct. I don’t like beating around the bush.”

Ulis pondered for a moment and said tentatively: "Since Master Bai is willing to negotiate terms, he must be sincere. Tell me, what do you need?"

I have to say, the temptation for Bai Yan to cooperate with him is too great.

Bai Yan's slender fingers tapped lightly on the table, his eyes so sharp that they seemed to be able to penetrate people's hearts.

He said casually, "I want the evaluation reports of all your genetic modification and gene transfer experiments."

These words made Ulis's expression change suddenly.

He leaned back in his chair, the smile on his face gradually disappeared, and his tone became a little colder: "Master Bai, you only want the evaluation form?"

Bai Yan did not respond, but stared coldly at Ulis on the holographic screen.

This silence was more intimidating than any words, forcing Ulis to speak: "Master Bai, we've known each other for so many years. You took the initiative to contact me today, not because you've become soft-hearted, right?"

Bai Yan raised the corners of his lips slightly, and said with a half-smile: "Ulis, cooperation is based on mutual trust, but if you can't even give me an evaluation, how can I trust you?"

Ulis frowned, his eyes flashing. This appraisal report seemed harmless, but its true value was far more than it seemed.

This is the core record of his entire experimental project, detailing the results, failure rate, risk prediction, etc. of each genetic modification.

If it falls into the hands of outsiders, it will undoubtedly hold his lifeline in their hands.

"Master Bai, you think too highly of me." Ulis suddenly smiled, a hint of flattery in his tone, "It's just an evaluation letter, I can afford it."

Ulis was afraid that this was a trap and that he was missing this opportunity.

Bai Yan's support is undoubtedly the biggest boost to the entire experimental project. The Bai family is involved in almost all of Blue Star's resource networks and power distribution.

If Bai Yan could agree, the whole situation would collapse.

"However, the support of Patriarch Bai is naturally precious, but how do I know that this is not a trap set by you?" Ulis changed the subject, his tone full of temptation.

Bai Yan smiled lightly upon hearing this, having already expected Ulis to respond in this way.

His fingers tapped the table lightly, making a crisp sound, but his tone seemed extremely calm: "Ulis, those who can't afford to gamble can't become winners."

Bai Yan's words were like a heavy hammer hitting Ulis's defenses. His smile froze for a moment, then he quickly regained his composure: "Master Bai, you are right. Winners are never afraid of gambling, but the stakes must be worth it."

"Bargain?" Bai Yan smiled slightly, his eyes sharp. "What you want are my resources, and what I want is your technology. Ulis, isn't this fair enough?"

Ulis did not respond immediately, but lowered his head and thought for a moment.

His fingers caressed the corner of the table inadvertently, obviously weighing the pros and cons. This was a dangerous game, but he vaguely felt that if he didn't take this gamble, he might never have a chance to turn the tables.

"Alright," Ulis finally nodded, his voice low, "Since Patriarch Bai is so sincere, I can't let you down. The appraisal report will be delivered to you in three days."

Hearing this, Bai Yan's lips curled up, as if smiling: "That's enough, at least it proves your sincerity."

The light brain hung up, and Bai Yan looked up at the other people in the study.

"This old guy is cunning but greedy." Bai Lishu complained mercilessly.

Opp turned to look at Bai Lishu, his eyes calm and deep. "Greedy people are always easily blinded by their own desires. He thinks he's got the upper hand now, but he doesn't know that he's already lost the game from the start."

Bai Lishu restlessly wrapped his arms around his waist and sneered, "That's right, thank goodness he's greedy, otherwise we wouldn't have had this opportunity to take advantage of him."

"Did those people send back any news?" Bai Yan asked.

Several days have passed since we released those killers who broke into the central building.

"I came here just to tell you about this. Guess what I discovered?" Bai Lishu kept it a secret.
