The two sat in the carriage. Li Hua wiped Gan Qiongying's mouth, and as he wiped, they ended up wiping each other's mouths.
The lips had no taste at all, yet they inexplicably made both people feel incredibly sweet.
When their entangled lips parted again, Li Hua helped Gan Qiongying up, but his eyes never left her for a moment, as if they were locked on Gan Qiongying's face, as if if they separated for even a second, Gan Qiongying would be taken away.
The sudden clap of thunder outside snapped him out of his daze. Gan Qiongying felt a little embarrassed by his gaze, and rubbed her face with her head down. When she heard the thunder, she paused in adjusting her clothes. When she looked up again, their heads bumped together.
The damp air, mixed with the smell of earth, drifted in through the carriage curtain, ruffling Gan Qiongying's hair. Gan Qiongying straightened her collar, feeling extremely hot on her face and body. She felt that the carriage was unbearably stuffy, so she turned her head to get closer to the curtain to breathe in some fresh air. As soon as she took a breath, she shivered. Before she could react, Li Hua's hand touched her back.
“Princess,” Li Hua lowered his voice, assuming Gan Qiongying wouldn’t detect his panic, “thank you.”
Gan Qiongying nodded, then shook her head. "Ah... what are you thanking me for?"
"What's there to thank for a kiss?" Gan Qiongying was puzzled.
Li Hua then said with a smile, "Of course, thank you for the princess's birthday gift."
The carriage curtain was lifted by the wind again, letting in even more wind; a storm was brewing.
But they never thought of leaving. Gan Qiongying could even feel Li Hua's gaze, which was covered in thick honey that stuck people in place, making them unable to move.
They looked up when they heard a noise coming from the top of the carriage shed, and the sound of sweet horns coming from outside could be heard.
"Master, it's starting to rain."
Li Hua, who had been deliberately trying to remain calm, suddenly realized that the two of them had been in the carriage for quite some time. Feeling guilty, he coughed lightly and wanted to withdraw his hand immediately, but he was still a little reluctant. He reached out his finger and hooked Gan Qiongying's palm.
Gan Qiongying swallowed nervously twice, but when she heard the raindrops getting heavier, she said to Li Hua, "Let's go back inside, the rain will get heavier later."

Li Hua simply reached out and wiped the lipstick from the corner of her mouth. Gan Qiongying realized she had misunderstood and looked up at Li Hua, but after a moment of eye contact, she immediately lowered her head again.
"Hmm..." Gan Qiongying hummed softly.
Li Hua, on the other hand, was the one who took the initiative to hold Gan Qiongying's hand, and the two of them slowly got out of the carriage.
After getting off the carriage, Li Hua stood by the footstool waiting for Gan Qiongying. Once Gan Qiongying got off the carriage, Li Hua raised his other hand and used his wide sleeve to cover Gan Qiongying's head.
Seeing this, Manyue, who was running towards them with an umbrella not far away, almost immediately threw the umbrella into the flower bushes.
The raindrops all disappeared into the dark fabric, spreading out in circles.
The attendants had been standing guard around. After calming the horse, Sanjiu stepped back a few paces to stand watch. When he saw his master get out of the carriage, he immediately stepped forward, but then suddenly stopped. The expression on his face was quite remarkable.
His eyes remained wide open, unable to believe what he was seeing, but his master's smile and joy were genuine. He looked at Sweetie with questioning eyes, and Sweetie, seeing Li Hua's smiling face, excitedly covered her mouth again.
She had no idea how long it had been since she had seen her master laugh like that.
Just now, when Sweetie saw raindrops falling, she immediately ran to get two umbrellas. When Li Hua got out of the car, she was about to go forward when Manyue hugged her around the waist.
"Where are you going?" Manyue hugged Sweetie's waist with one hand and covered Sweetie's mouth with the other, whispering in her ear, "You little rascal, can't you see what's going on?"
Sweetie kept watching her master, afraid that he would get sick from the rain. But when Li Hua turned his head, she saw that Li Hua's lips were unusually red and there were traces of lip rouge at the corner of his mouth. She immediately stopped struggling and her face turned slightly red.
Gan Qiongying was completely oblivious to the reactions of her maids; she herself was now somewhat at a loss as to how to react.
But as she nestled in Li Hua's arms, she looked up and noticed that the corners of Li Hua's mouth were covered in her own lip rouge. Her face immediately flushed, and she quickly reached out and wiped it off with her sleeve.
Fortunately, the weather cooperated, and the rain didn't fall too heavily.
Then the two of them slowly walked back in that posture.
Normally, when the two walk together, Gan Qiongying will deliberately slow down her pace to wait for Li Hua's steps, and she will also support Li Hua's arm to make his body as smooth as possible while walking.

The two of them walked this short distance hand in hand, yet it felt as if they had been holding hands for a very long time.
By the time they returned to the main courtyard gate, the rain had intensified, soaking their clothes and hair. However, the look in their eyes was as clear as a bright, sunny day.
Li Hua had prepared the meal well in advance in preparation for Gan Qiongying's return. Some of the dishes on the table were now completely cold, but they didn't want to bother with them. Fortunately, Li Hua had brought back a lot of snacks, some of which were appetizers and could be eaten even when cold.
