Chapter 2 Chapter 2 You are such a good person.

02. Lu Zhao

Jiang Nian opened his eyes in surprise, and was met with a pair of eyes as black as obsidian. He was slightly startled, and saw clearly the appearance of the man holding him.

The man was wearing a black suit, his face was sharp and angular, his eyebrows were sharp and his eyes were bright, he was handsome and unparalleled. Jiang Nian could feel the warmth of the man, like the mountains and seas, in his breath.

He noticed a car parked not far away, and considering the warmth on the man, he guessed that the man had just gotten out of the car.

Did he see himself falling from the wall and kindly catch him?

Jiang Nian looked at the man, and the man was also looking at him.

The snow fluttered down, and a piece of it landed on Jiang Nian's eyelashes. He felt cold for a moment, and couldn't help but blink. His confused mind started to work.

He remembered the man's identity. The man's name was Lu Zhao, another protagonist in the book and also Shen Rong's official partner.

Because both Lu and Chen held significant positions in Jinhai City, Lu Zhao and Chen Rong had known each other for a long time, but their formal encounters didn't begin until high school. They attended the same high school, both prominent figures on campus, considered academic geniuses. Later, they enrolled in the same university, majoring in the same class.

The two men, with their outstanding abilities and similar interests, quickly became friends. Later, they came into contact with the family business and began to cooperate, and their relationship became increasingly close.

Of course, at this time the two were just friends and had not yet developed into love.

Jiang Nian, script in hand, had never revealed his significant other to his friend Chen Rong, nor had he specifically searched for Lu Zhao's appearance. However, a year ago, he had secretly gone out with Chen Rong and happened to run into Lu Zhao in the parking lot as they were leaving.

Jiang Nian was sitting in the back seat at the time, and Chen Rong didn't get out of the car. He chatted with Lu Zhao for a few words before starting the car and leaving. Lu Zhao didn't see Jiang Nian's face at that time.

Jiang Nian was still very panicked. Lu Zhao had never seen him, but he must know him.

Jinhai City is huge, but the celebrity circles are frequented by the same people, who are well-informed about each family's situation. It's common knowledge that the Jiang family has a sickly youngest son. Plus, Jiang Nian had come out of his house early that morning, so Lu Zhao, being so clever, must have guessed his identity immediately.

Regardless of the relationship between the older generation of the family, the younger generation all know each other.

Jiang Nian's brother Jiang Hao would occasionally run into Lu Zhao at banquets. Jiang Hao had a good impression of Lu Zhao, and although they weren't very close, they would still exchange a few words when they met.

If Lu Zhao mentioned his experience of climbing over the wall to his brother at the cocktail party, he would never be able to come out again.

Jiang Nian looked at Lu Zhao and whispered with a hint of luck: "If I say that I flew out accidentally, would you believe it?"

Lu Zhao's grip on Jiang Nian was steady, and his gaze, lowered, seemed to carry warmth, causing Jiang Nian to pinch his fingers nervously. He wondered if he was being taken for a fool, but then he smiled, as handsome as spring breeze melting snow.

Jiang Nian's eyes dazzled, and he thought to himself that she was indeed the protagonist, and her looks were worthy of his friend.

Then he heard Lu Zhao say, "Of course."

Jiang Nian's heart suddenly relaxed. He knew that Lu Zhao understood what he meant. His eyes lit up instantly and he said sincerely, "Thank you. You are such a good person."

Caught off guard by being given the nice guy card, Lu Zhao laughed and let Jiang Nian go.

The soft snow beneath his feet felt very comfortable. Jiang Nian stepped on it twice, feeling a little regretful. Lu Zhao must have come here to look for Chen Rong. He decided to go back first and find another opportunity to see Chen Rong next time.

Jiang Nian turned around to go back, but after thinking about it, he turned back and lowered his voice to confirm again: "You won't tell this to anyone else, right?"

Lu Zhao imitated him, lowering his voice and saying softly, "No."

Jiang Nian pursed his lips behind his mask. Perhaps it had been a while since he'd interacted with anyone other than his family. He'd been too bored watching cartoons at home these days, so his behavior had become somewhat childish. He took off his gloves and held out his pinky finger. "Then make a pinky promise."

The smile on Lu Zhao's lips became more obvious, as if he couldn't help laughing, but he still hooked his fingers with Jiang Nian and cooperated with the stamp. He whispered, "Is this okay?"

When Jiang Nian met Lu Zhao's eyes, he belatedly felt a surge of shame.

How childish! His brain must have been frozen to pieces!

Jiang Nian rarely felt so embarrassed, so he forced himself to nod and said, "Thank you."

He thought to himself that Lu Zhao was worthy of being the protagonist, with full personal charm, and could face any situation calmly. He even cooperated with him and did not laugh at him.

After receiving the assurance, Jiang Nian prepared to climb over the wall and return. Lu Zhao stepped back two steps, making room for him, and watched Jiang Nian's back with interest.

Jiang Nian covered himself tightly, his features could not be seen clearly, only his eyes were exposed, as bright as a cat's.

Those eyes, smiling in the wind and snow, were so stunningly beautiful, like... an elf in the snow.

Jiang Nian had climbed this wall in front of him many times, and each time it was easy. But today, perhaps because there was a stranger next to him or because he was frightened just now, he failed after trying several times.

Jiang Nian backed away, took a running start, and then clung to the top of the wall. After a lot of struggling, his strength was exhausted and he was ready to fall, but at that moment, he felt someone support him from below.

Jiang Nian turned around and saw Lu Zhao. Their eyes met in mid-air. Jiang Nian turned back, gritted his teeth, and climbed up the wall. He squatted on the top of the wall and whispered to Lu Zhao below, "Thank you."
