Chapter 23 The young couple's passion for each other is not good
Su Wanwan clung to Pei Changfeng like an octopus and refused to move no matter what.
It was a hot summer day and both of them felt a little sticky. Pei Changfeng was pressed down by her and felt a little breathless. He had to kick the quilt away before trying to push her away.
"Wanwan, go down."
“No!” Su Wanwan rested her head on his chest, her body rising and falling with the rhythm of his breathing, “You apologize to me, you said I’m your wife, you have to support me for the rest of my life, or I will support you for the rest of your life, anyway, you apologize to me, or I will crush you to death!”
Pei Changfeng held her head with one hand, trying to lighten the burden on himself, but Su Wanwan didn't look fat, and she still felt a bit heavy when she pressed on him, "Wanwan, you're a bit heavy, I can't breathe."
"What?" Su Wanwan was shocked and hugged him tighter, "You said I'm fat?"
Pei Changfeng's breathing was a little rapid, and it was too hot, so he had to tie up her hair that was scattered on his body with his hands, "Wanwan, I'm hot."
Su Wanwan didn't move, and Pei Changfeng was completely helpless. He fumbled out Su Wanwan's hairpin from under the pillow, pinned it on her hair, and stopped pushing her away. He closed his eyes and continued to sleep.
Su Wanwan was still waiting for Pei Changfeng's apology. After waiting for a long time, she looked up and found that he had fallen asleep with his eyes closed. She suddenly became angry and said, "Get up and don't sleep!"
Pei Changfeng opened his eyes, his eyes were clear, obviously he was not asleep. He looked at Su Wanwan who was sitting on his waist, and felt a headache. "Wanwan, it's daybreak, aren't you sleepy?"
"I'm not sleepy. If you don't make things clear today, then don't go to sleep."
Su Wanwan put her hands on her hips, looking like she was determined to argue to the end.
Pei Changfeng rubbed his forehead and sat up. As he sat up, Su Wanwan fell backwards. She quickly got up and sat back on his lap to confront him.
Why is she so stubborn?
Pei Changfeng wanted to leave, but Su Wanwan used her hands and feet to wrap around his waist, not allowing him to go.
After all this, both of them were sweating a lot. Su Wanwan seemed to be unaware of the heat. Her head was against Pei Changfeng's neck, and their bodies were tightly pressed together.
Pei Changfeng has taken a lot of medicine during this period, and his health has improved a lot. However, after being in so much trouble for so long and almost not sleeping all night, he can't bear it anymore.
His voice lowered a little, "Wanwan, be obedient."
Su Wanwan didn't move. Pei Changfeng was a good-tempered man, but he was a little angry now. He grabbed Su Wanwan's hand and wanted to get her off him, but Su Wanwan's two hands seemed to be grown together, and she held him tightly and refused to let go.
"Miss Su!" Pei Changfeng was vaguely angry.
Su Wanwan said nothing, just buried her head in his neck, her shoulders trembling slightly, as if she was crying.
Her crying soon became louder, turning into soft sobs, as if the grievances she had been suppressing for a long time were finally being vented.
Pei Changfeng's anger quickly dissipated, and he patted her on the back, "Wanwan, did I scare you? I'm sorry, I didn't mean it."
Su Wanwan grabbed his collar and raised her tearful eyes, "People say that if you marry a chicken, you follow the chicken; if you marry a dog, you follow the dog. I married you and served you for so long, why do you always want to leave me?"
"It's not that I don't want you," Pei Changfeng explained patiently, "Wanwan, marrying someone doesn't mean you can only be with him for the rest of your life. You should chase after the person you want and the one who's right for you."
"You've been educated, so you know a lot," Su Wanwan choked up, "Is this what books teach you? My father told me that if I still flirt with other women after I get married, he'll beat me. My father is gone now, and if he knew, he wouldn't be able to rest in peace as a ghost."
These things are not taught in books, but the Three Bonds and Five Constant Virtues are set in the hearts of men and women all over the world.
Pei Changfeng knew from books that there was a princess in the previous dynasty who was brave and good at fighting, and ordinary men could not defeat her. This princess was different from other women in the secular world, which just proved that women were not limited to living within the scope defined by ethics.
As long as Su Wanwan wanted, she could leave at any time, and he would not use any excuse to ask her to stay by his side.
"Wanwan, there are many possibilities in a person's life, right?"
"If you are good at embroidery, you can open an embroidery shop. If you know how to do business, you can do business. If you are good at cooking, you can open a small restaurant. As long as you are good at it and you like it, you can do it."
What are you good at and like?
Su Wanwan's eyelashes trembled. "My mother wanted to learn medicine from a barefoot doctor, but she was cheated and lost her life. My father liked to travel all over the country, but he died outside. I don't want to go. I don't like anything. I just want to stay with you. Can't we just live a good life?"
Thinking of her parents who died tragically while pursuing their so-called ambitions, Su Wanwan felt sad. Screw ambitions, screw likes, nothing is more important than living a good life.
She had experienced a lot of sorrow and helplessness, but Pei Changfeng had never heard her mention these things.
Pei Changfeng lowered his head and his chin touched Su Wanwan's cheek. Her cheeks were already covered with wet tears, like a lake in early winter, cold and wet.
"I'm sorry," Pei Changfeng sighed, "Don't cry."
Su Wanwan wiped all her tears on his collar in anger, "It's all your fault that I got mad at you. It's already dawn."
She rubbed her chest and said, "I'm so angry at you that my heart hurts."
Pei Changfeng didn't feel any pain in his chest, but he did have a headache.
He simply lay back and let Su Wanwan lie on him, patting her back gently as if to comfort her.
Su Wanwan found a comfortable place, and as he patted her, her breathing gradually became smoother and more even.
When she woke up again, it was already noon. She and Pei Changfeng stared at each other. It was unknown whose stomach growled first. Su Wanwan sat up and said, "Well, I'm hungry. I'll go cook."
She finally got up. Pei Changfeng rubbed his arms and shoulders that seemed to have lost all feeling, and slowly let out a sigh of relief.
The two of them caught up on some sleep. Su Wanwan went to cook while Pei Changfeng boiled medicine in the corridor.
It was not time to eat now. It was almost midnight and everyone in the village was taking a nap.
The two were eating when Widow Liu hurried over. She was holding five tied-up chickens and asked, "Why are you eating now?"
"I just woke up," Su Wanwan was still a little dizzy, "Why did you bring so many chickens?"
Widow Liu was so angry at her words that she laughed, "You silly girl, didn't you say you would give me one chicken every three days? I'll bring five first, and I'll bring another five the day after tomorrow when I send Chao Chao to learn to read."
She glanced at the dishes they were eating, a bowl of eggplant and a bowl of pickles, which looked a bit shabby. Could it be that they were so poor that they couldn't even afford to eat because of Pei Changfeng's medical treatment?
"You must have been so scared that you didn't sleep all night yesterday," Widow Liu put the chicken into the cage, wondering whether she should give Su Wanwan some money. Otherwise, this girl would have such a miserable life. She was really afraid that her dead husband would blame her. "How pitiful."
"It's not a big deal," Su Wanwan glanced at Pei Changfeng, her tone somewhat resentful, "It's all my fault, my good husband, for keeping me awake all night."
Pei Changfeng lowered his head to eat, and his ears were strangely red.
Widow Liu thought for a while, turned around, looked at Su Wanwan, then looked at Pei Changfeng, and thought to herself that this was not good. The young couple was so passionate that something might happen. If he was a normal person, it would be fine, but did Pei Changfeng look like a normal person?
Seeing Pei Changfeng staggering as he walked, Widow Liu was really afraid that Su Wanwan would drain Pei Changfeng dry. It would be bad if something happened. So while Su Wanwan was washing the dishes, she leaned over and said, "Girl, do you want to tell me something from the bottom of your heart?"
Su Wanwan glanced at her and asked, "Do you really think of me as your mother?"
Widow Liu was not angry when she heard her say this. She pulled Su Wanwan to the kitchen and asked, "How are you and this Mr. Pei?"
"Look at the dark circles under my eyes," Su Wanwan pouted, "and you'll know how hard it is for me."
Widow Liu wiped the sweat off her forehead and said, "So it was Mr. Pei who bullied you?"
Su Wanwan felt aggrieved, "Yes, he doesn't regard me as his wife."
Widow Liu wiped her sweat again and said, "If I'm not your daughter-in-law, then what do you think I am?"
"I am just a tool to serve him," Su Wanwan said with a bit of resentment, turning her back and muttering softly, "You are not willing to let me stay, so you want to drive me away."
Widow Liu didn't hear the last sentence clearly. She felt her head spinning. It turned out that all men were not good stuff. This Mr. Pei was not afraid of losing his life.
No, no, she had to think of a way. She couldn't let the two of them go on like this!
