Chapter 078 I Like You (2/3)

"Give it to me after you've finished reading it?" Si Yang didn't explain and took out the anesthetic by himself.

After the needle tip penetrates the skin, the local anesthetic takes effect quickly.

He felt nothing as Si Yang's needle and thread pulled back and forth in his flesh.

"Okay, take a look. Are you satisfied?" Si Yang cut off the sutures. She was quite satisfied with her "work".

Pei Tingyu looked down at the eight-centimeter wound on his abdomen, which had been completely sutured. The stitches were neat and orderly, no worse than those of professional medical care.

The next step was to apply medicine. Si Yang evenly spread the anti-inflammatory and tissue-regenerating ointment on his wound, then changed the gauze and bandaged it up in circles.

"This stitch does not need to be removed. Take the ointment and apply it every day." Si Yang said as he handed the unused ointment to Pei Tingyu.

"What did you do in your original era?" Pei Tingyu suddenly asked with interest.

Si Yang was stunned for a moment, then smiled and said, "You finally believe me?"

"I didn't say I didn't believe it."

"I was a special forces soldier before I came here." Si Yang answered seriously.

Pei Tingyu's eyes flickered slightly. "Special forces? Are they also in the army?"

When Si Yang thought back to his past self, the light in his eyes instantly disappeared.

"Yeah! Training every day, then carrying out missions... like a machine living for others, nothing but fatigue and injuries. In the end, I was diagnosed with a terminal illness at such a young age."

"That's why you don't want to join the army anymore."

Pei Tingyu's brows finally relaxed. Now, her abilities made sense.

Si Yang looked at the sky outside the car window, his eyes far away and comfortable. "Yes! I want to choose a new path that I have never taken and live my life for myself."

"Will you go back?" Pei Tingyu's low voice was as light as a feather.

"I can't go back! I should have turned into ashes in that world." Si Yang was a little uninterested.

"So... do you have a partner over there?" Pei Tingyu asked cautiously.

"There was one originally, but I kicked him out..." Si Yang admitted generously.

I was dating a guy my family introduced to me before. We got along just like boiled water. Since we were both busy, we rarely interacted. The only time we went on dates was holding hands and kissing on the forehead.

Later, she was diagnosed with a terminal illness and the man ran away. When she asked her family, she found out that the bastard had been cheating on her.

Damn scumbag!

Si Yang collected her thoughts and looked at the man who had been watching her. "Now that you know the secret of my identity, are you still sure you want to be with me? You can still make a new choice now."

Pei Tingyu looked at her starry eyes quietly, with a hint of tenderness on the corner of his mouth. He pulled her hands over and rubbed them in his palms.

"Si Yang, no matter where you are from, I like you."

Even if she really was from the future, as long as she wasn't an enemy of the country, he wouldn't let her go.

Si Yang smiled sincerely, "Well, this confession is not bad. At least I am a little moved."
