After watching for about three minutes, the man turned around and walked away quickly.
Si Yang's sixth sense told her that this man was suspicious, so she operated the drone and followed him.
The man rushed all the way to the Corps' coal mine, where an eight-wheeled tractor loaded with coal was parked in the front yard of the factory.
A driver in his thirties was sitting in the driver's seat of the tractor. The middle-aged man ran over, climbed onto the platform in front of the truck bed, sat down, and whispered a few words to the driver nervously.
After hearing this, the driver's face changed and he immediately started the tractor and prepared to leave the factory.
Si Yang's drone couldn't get too close. Although he didn't hear what they said, their guilty expressions clearly indicated something was wrong.
Si Yang focused his attention on the rear wheels of the tractor. The bed was clearly full of coal, but why did the tires not seem to be deflated at all and the tire pressure was still sufficient?
Does that mean the cargo on this truck isn't as heavy as it seems? Is there something else going on?
Si Yang didn't dare to delay. It was too late to rush to the coal mine to stop a car, but she could wait on the road that had to be passed.
Twenty minutes later, the tractor left the factory and drove onto the road.
Just as the car was bumping around a bend, the driver spotted a dusty girl lying in the middle of the road ahead.
"Brake quickly—"
The tractor stopped by the roadside and the driver got out first to check.
When he saw the girl's face, an uncontrollable greed and excitement rose to his face.
"Old Yang, come and see. These people are probably fleeing from famine somewhere else. They're all starving. They look much better than the ones we saw last time."
The man named Lao Yang jumped out of the car, looked around vigilantly, and approached Si Yang who was lying on the road.
He used his barbed fingers to feel Si Yang's breath and said hurriedly, "If it's delivered to your door, don't miss it. Take it away quickly..."
Si Yang was stuffed into the space under the truck bed. After darkness fell, the tractor started up again and carried her away from the regiment...
On the other side, Bai Tian excitedly brought Pei Tingyu and others to a man-made cave. The group looked at the empty cave and looked at each other in silence.
"Where are the people? Didn't you say they are here?" Pei Tingyu asked.
Bai Tian’s stunned expression froze. How could this happen?
"Those female educated youth who were planning to escape back to the city were hiding in this cave!"
"Escape?"
"Yes! They felt that the land reclamation was too hard, so they wanted to go back to the city together. They should have left by now."
Pei Tingyu's face darkened. "When did you know? Why didn't you report it earlier?"
Bai Tian hurriedly explained aggrievedly: "I thought they were just talking, but who knew they would really leave as soon as they said they would?"
Pei Tingyu glanced at her coldly and turned away.
Bai Tian looked at his tall figure, a sneer of triumph appeared on the corner of her mouth. This chapter has been read (please click on the next chapter to continue reading!)
