"I planned to arrange another place for her to live, but she seemed unwilling to cause me trouble." Pei Tingyu sighed, looking quite helpless.
Si Yang analyzed, "She has her own son and grandson. To her, they are her support in her later years, so she is tolerant and willing to compromise. The protection you want to give her will make her feel insecure and without a sense of belonging, so she doesn't dare to go with you."
Pei Tingyu sighed secretly, "This is indeed a tricky problem. It's not difficult to deal with his bastard son. The difficulty lies in Aunt Wu's long-standing mother-son relationship and she won't give up on him easily."
Si Yang turned his eyes and an idea struck him. "Then let her establish herself in this family and stop being exploited by her son and daughter-in-law."
"How easy is that?"
"Just try and you'll know. Since she once helped you, I'll go and brainwash her."
Pei Tingyu: “…”
Three days later, Aunt Wu was discharged from the hospital and returned home.
As soon as I entered the house, my daughter-in-law acted like she saw an enemy, blocking the door with a sarcastic look and refusing to move.
Si Yang gave Aunt Wu a wink, and she immediately understood.
Aunt Wu stepped over the threshold and locked eyes with her daughter-in-law. "What's the matter? Are you standing here trying to figure out if I'm dead or not? If I'm not dead yet, there's no place for me in this room."
The daughter-in-law was slightly startled. She didn't expect that her mother-in-law, who was usually soft-spoken and easy to control, would be so tough.
"Mom, you're back? Is everything okay?" The son finally ran out after hearing the noise.
When Aunt Wu saw her son's hypocritical face, she flew into a rage: "Are you disappointed that I didn't die? Why did I give birth to such a heartless thing like you? If I had known you would marry and forget your mother, I would have thrown you into the well and drowned you."
"Mom, what are you talking about? Is it wrong for me to care about you?"
"Pa—" Aunt Wu raised her hand and slapped him in the face. "Care about me? Have you visited me once during the few days I was in the hospital? Did you contribute a penny or a bit of effort?"
"I..." Both the couple were caught off guard by Aunt Wu's change.
"Get out of my way, everyone! Can't you see the guests coming? You all have eyes on the top of your heads! Why don't you go and pour tea?"
The daughter-in-law felt a pang of anxiety when she saw the look her mother-in-law was giving her, and she reluctantly let them in.
Aunt Wu went straight to the main house and gave her son and daughter-in-law a warning in front of Pei Tingyu and Si Yang.
"From now on, if you still want to bully me, get out of this house. I have my godson to support me in my old age, so I can't count on you anymore. If you still want to stay in this house, you'd better keep your tail between your legs."
Aunt Wu glared at her uneasy daughter-in-law as she spoke: "Especially you, if you dare to whisper in my son's ear again, go back to the countryside..."
Pei Tingyu took the opportunity to "invite" Aunt Wu's son to the next room, closed the door and gave him a "hello".
"Where's the money I sent back? Spit it out—" This chapter has been read (please click on the next chapter to continue reading!)
