Si Yang slept until 6:30 in the morning when the morning exercise bell rang.
If she hadn't seen the things she had left at the guesthouse taken back on the coffee table, she wouldn't have known Pei Tingyu had come back.
She heard the sound of children doing exercises downstairs. She opened the door, stood on the balcony and looked down. Sure enough, she saw a group of children from the military compound running.
It is truly worthy of being a military compound. Children who grow up here will inherit the military style from an early age, understand what responsibility is, and become more self-disciplined and responsible.
There are still two days until the time to get the marriage certificate. Si Yang is going to the department store to pick out curtains today. He also needs to buy pajamas, slippers and other daily necessities for Pei Tingyu.
Their situations were special. She had no dowry from her parents' side, and Pei Tingyu had no in-laws to take care of things, so they had to prepare everything themselves.
But she really likes to do it herself and contribute to this small family.
When she got to the place to buy curtains and saw the styles, she was stunned.
Blue bamboo, green bamboo, bamboo with pandas, and then patterns like cranes.
Finally, she picked out a green one from a pile of bamboos. At least her little wolfdog liked this color.
After buying the things, I returned to the military compound. Just as I was about to open the door of my room, the door next door suddenly opened.
A pretty young woman who was about a few years older than her walked out of the room. Si Yang looked at the young woman, and the young woman also looked at her in a daze.
Pei Tingyu had told Si Yang before that Captain Qu and his wife lived next door to them.
After a few seconds of awkward silence, Si Yang looked at the young woman's somewhat embarrassed look and seemed to muster up great courage:
"You are Captain Pei's wife, right? Hello comrade, my name is Qiu Xia, and my husband is the battalion commander of the Third Battalion of the Eighth Regiment. We will be neighbors from now on." After Qiu Xia finished speaking, she blushed and tucked the loose hair behind her ears.
"Hello, my name is Si Yang. Please take care of me in the future." Si Yang greeted the blushing female comrade politely and generously.
Seeing that Si Yang seemed very friendly, Qiu Xia relaxed a little. "By the way, have you eaten? I made some pancakes for lunch. Would you like to come over and have a quick meal?"
"Thank you, but no, I've already eaten in the cafeteria. I'm going to prepare to hang up the curtains." Si Yang said and opened the door.
Qiu Xia curiously leaned over to take a look and was instantly attracted by the furnishings in her room.
She had a low level of education and couldn't think of any appropriate words to describe her love and envy.
"Wow! Your room is really beautiful. This cabinet is so well made. It can block the bedroom and still store things."
Seeing her standing timidly at the door, Si Yang politely invited her, "Come in and sit for a while?"
Qiu Xia waved her hand stiffly and said, "No, no, no, I'm not going in. Just go about your business and don't worry about me."
"Then please do as you please." Si Yang didn't force her. After all, it was their first meeting, so it was normal to feel a little awkward.
She moved the chairs from the table onto the dining table and then climbed up to hang the curtains.
Seeing this, Qiu Xia immediately went in to help her steady the chair. "Why don't you let Captain Pei do this kind of work? What will you do if you fall down?"
"He's been very busy lately. I can handle this little thing." Si Yang said as he skillfully hung up the curtains.
After finishing, she jumped down nimbly.
"Be careful." Qiu Xia's heart tightened.
"It's okay, thank you Comrade Qiu Xia." Si Yang thanked her with a smile.
Qiu Xia's face flushed again. "It's just a matter of extending a hand. What's there to thank me for?"
Si Yang's smile deepened. "How long have you been married to Captain Qu? Why do you always blush?"
Qiu Xia's face froze when she heard this, and an indescribable emotion flashed across her eyes.
"If you... don't have anything else, I'll go back first. If you have anything, you can come to me. I'm always in the house."
Si Yang suppressed his smile and said, "Okay."
Was she overthinking it, or did she say something wrong?
Why did I feel like Qiu Xia’s expression was not right just now?
