Qiu Xia opened the door with a nervous and confused mood.
But she saw that besides her parents, her younger brother and cousin were also outside the door.
The four people had messy hair soaked by the rain, and their bodies were mostly wet, looking extremely miserable.
Qiu Xia looked at them, anxiously wondering how to explain the divorce to them.
They also stared at Qiu Xia, as if they had not expected that she would live in such a nice house.
The house was too clean and out of place for them, so they didn't dare to go in. After all, they didn't know if this was a place where Qiu Xia had the final say.
Several people looked at each other for a while at the door, and the situation was broken by the sneeze of the younger brother Qiu Ye.
“A-choo——”
Qiu Xia regained her composure and quickly took two steps back to let them in first.
Several people entered the house awkwardly. After Qiu Xia closed the door, she quickly asked them to wipe their wet hair first.
Then she went into the house to find dry clothes for her mother and cousin. Unfortunately, she didn't have any men's clothes, so she could only ask her father and brother to use towels to protect their wet backs.
Qiu Xia gestured for them to sit on the sofa. Cousin Liu Yanyan quickly sat over and curiously put her hand on the soft sofa.
But my father and brother were worried that their wet clothes would dirty the sofa, so they insisted on sitting on the chairs.
The Qiu family are all honest farmers. They have spent most of their lives working hard on the fields and live on the annual dividends from the brigade.
As soon as Mrs. Qiu sat down, she hurriedly asked Qiu Xia, "Xia Xia, what's going on with you? Why did you divorce that kid from the Qu family?"
After Mother Qiu asked this question, the others all looked at her, waiting for her answer.
What else could she possibly hide at this point? She told the truth about herself and Qu Mingjun.
After hearing this, Mr. Qiu’s face turned pale and he couldn’t utter a word for a long time due to his dry throat.
Mother Qiu sighed and said, "For a family like ours, it's already a blessing that the Qu family is interested in you and provides you with food and drink. Look how well you're being taken care of in the city. What else are you dissatisfied with? Why do you have to fight for that kind of affection? Can you even eat that kind of thing?"
Obviously, Mother Qiu did not agree with Qiu Xia's unauthorized divorce. In her opinion, even if Qiu Xia was wronged in this marriage, she was not at a disadvantage as she had good material conditions.
"Mom, my sister is unhappy, so let's just get a divorce. That guy named Qu doesn't like my sister at all, so how could he be good to her? He is in labor camp now, he deserves it!" Sixteen-year-old Qiu Ye is honest and kind, and has been close to Qiu Xia since childhood.
The Qiu family remembered that Qu Mingjun had been stripped of his military uniform and sent to the mining area, so they naturally would not persuade them to stay together.
Qiu Ye then sarcastically said that the problem happened right after Qu Mingjun and his sister divorced, and that this was the retribution for the bad things he did to his sister.
No matter how unhappy his parents' faces were, he felt happy anyway.
Qiu Xia asked how they knew about this and why they came here.
Mr. Qiu said that Qu's parents felt sorry for Qiu Xia, so they brought gifts to the Qiu family to apologize.
After learning of Qiu Xia's divorce, they went to the military compound and ran into someone who knew Qiu Xia there. That person only knew that Qiu Xia had moved to the school compound, so they came here with Qiu Xia's photo and asked about her.
When Qiu Xia learned that they had not had lunch yet, she immediately went to the kitchen to stir-fry a few dishes for them and made a few pancakes.
The hungry family quickly sat down at the dining table and wolfed down their food.
Cousin Liu Yanyan stretched her neck and swallowed deeply while asking Qiu Xia why she didn't go home after her divorce and instead lived in such a good place?
Mother Qiu also hurriedly asked who the house belonged to.
