Chapter 1367 Frank Discussion

This concern made her realize even more the weight of her responsibilities. She not only had to protect this land, but also everyone she loved.

When Xu Yuehuai thought of the soldiers who silently dedicated their youth and passion to the country, her eyes couldn't help but redden slightly.

She knew she had to work hard to improve her abilities, boost morale, become their beacon, guide them forward, and illuminate the path of hope in the darkness.

"Boom!"

Just as she was lost in her thoughts, a sudden explosion shattered the tranquility of the night, originating from the direction of the pharmacy.

Xu Yuehuai's expression changed, and his figure instantly transformed into a black shadow, speeding away.

Smoke billowed and flames soared into the sky in front of the pharmacy. The Ghost Doctor, covered in soot and in a sorry state, rushed out of the ruins, but his face still showed a stubborn refusal to admit defeat.

"I...I just wanted to try the method in that ancient book to wake the prince up as soon as possible..." he gasped, his voice hoarse and full of self-reproach.

Xu Yuehuai quickly stepped forward and supported the swaying Ghost Doctor, her brows furrowed: "How are you? Are you hurt?"

The Ghost Doctor shook his head slightly, forcing a bitter smile: "I'm fine, but this pharmacy, and my medicine! How could it have failed?"

He looked at the mess before him, a hint of regret flashing in his eyes.

"Let me see those two ancient books," Xu Yuehuai said in a deep voice, taking the "Medical Secrets" and "Records of Heavenly Secrets" handed to him by the Ghost Doctor and carefully flipping through them.

The pages were yellowed, the handwriting ancient and mysterious. She tried to find the reason for her failure, but to no avail.

“These ancient books are treasures passed down through generations, but the methods recorded in them are often complex and dangerous,” Xu Yuehuai pondered for a moment, then looked up at the Ghost Doctor. “Go ahead and do it. If we don’t have enough medicinal herbs, I will go and get them myself. We cannot let Aze’s path to awakening be hindered by our hesitation.”

The Ghost Doctor clenched his fist and said, "Alright! I will certainly not disappoint you!"

At this moment, Lu Li and Yan Qing arrived upon hearing the commotion. Upon seeing the scene, they exchanged a smile and then joined the effort to clear the ruins.

Lu Li joked, "Master Ghost Doctor, your look is truly unique. It's likely to become the talk of the town in the military camp tonight."

Yan Qing also laughed and said, "Yes, but on the other hand, although your pharmacy is destroyed, at least the shell is still intact, which is a blessing in disguise."

Upon hearing this, the Ghost Doctor initially intended to remain serious, but ultimately couldn't help but be amused by their conversation. He raised his hand as if to slap them with his dirty hand, but due to exhaustion, he simply brushed it off lightly, instantly dispelling the tense atmosphere between the three.

"Come on, let's clean up this mess together. When the sun rises tomorrow, I want to see a brand new pharmacy!" The Ghost Doctor's words were full of indomitable spirit and determination, as if even the stars in the night sky were moved by them.

Together, they ignited a new flame of hope amidst these ruins.

Xu Yuehuai, the Ghost Doctor, Lu Li, and Yan Qing—each of them is protecting this beloved land and the people and things that are worth their utmost efforts in their own way.

Under this starry sky, this place seems like a pure land isolated from the outside world's disturbances, and their story is quietly writing a new chapter.

After the pharmacy was reorganized, the Ghost Doctor continued to bury himself in making the antidote.

Xu Yuehuai tiptoed in, carrying a basket of rare medicinal herbs, each one emitting a faint medicinal fragrance.

She looked at the Ghost Doctor, who was engrossed in the medicine furnace, his focused expression seemingly able to pierce through all the fog and reach the essence of life.

"The medicinal herbs are all prepared. I hope you can succeed this time." Xu Yuehuai broke the silence in the pharmacy.

The Ghost Doctor nodded slightly without looking up, but his hands, covered in faint marks, moved the medicinal herbs with even greater skill.

Meanwhile, outside the tent, Lu Li and Yan Qing were covered in dust, their hair slightly disheveled, but smiles on their faces. They had just disposed of the last batch of pharmacy trash, and their clothes were filthy from the mixture of sweat and mud.

Seeing this, Xu Yuehuai gently instructed, "You two have worked hard. Go and tidy up first, and get some rest. I will arrange for others to stay here and help the Ghost Doctor."

Lu Li and Yan Qing exchanged a smile, nodded gratefully, and turned to leave.

Xu Yuehuai watched them leave, then turned and entered another tent.

Inside the tent, Li Lei frowned, his eyes filled with unease. Upon seeing Xu Yuehuai, he abruptly stood up, his tone laced with accusation: "What urgent matter brings the Princess Consort here so late at night?"

Xu Yuehuai slowly stepped forward, his gaze deep, determined to confront this topic that was about to change everything: "General Li Lei, there is something I must tell you frankly. What has been troubling us these past few days is not an ordinary thing, but a strange village from another world."

Li Lei's expression changed drastically, and he sneered, "Your Highness, you are mistaken. Are you perhaps trying to find an excuse for your dereliction of duty?"

Xu Yuehuai did not immediately refute, but slowly stretched out her hand, and a strange red light gathered at her fingertips. The light was like the rising sun, both warm and carrying an undeniable power.

“Look at this,” she said softly.

Li Lei reached out with some skepticism, wanting to touch the ball of light, but just as his fingertips were about to touch it, a powerful force suddenly erupted, causing him to stagger backward, his face turning as pale as paper.

"What...what the hell is this?!" he exclaimed in terror, his eyes filled with disbelief.

Xu Yuehuai rushed forward to help him, but Li Lei instinctively dodged away.

"Are you alright?" she asked with concern, her tone full of sincerity.

Li Lei steadied himself, his eyes fixed on the red light in Xu Yuehuai's hand, his voice trembling: "What... what kind of power is this?"

Xu Yuehuai explained, "This is the power brought by those visitors from other worlds. Or rather, this power has always existed in this world, but it has been suppressed by some other force for a long time. Now, it is gradually awakening and affecting our world."

Upon hearing this, Li Lei was shocked but even more worried: "Your Highness, this matter is of utmost importance. If it is truly as you say, how should we respond?"

Xu Yuehuai's gaze was firm: "That's why I came to find you. We need to prepare early; those visitors from other worlds are not people that ordinary people can deal with. And I am searching for more magical powers to cultivate a group of strong individuals who can contend with them, in order to prepare for the upcoming brutal war."

Li Lei remained silent for a moment, then finally bowed deeply: "Your Highness, I apologize for my previous rudeness and doubt. Please allow me to join your plan to protect the people of Great Zhou!"

Xu Yuehuai smiled slightly, extended her hand, and Li Lei grasped it without hesitation. Their hands were tightly intertwined, as if at this moment, all the barriers and misunderstandings had vanished.
