Quan Cang felt a sense of familiarity and turned his head to look. Xu Yuehuai was standing below, her clothes fluttering in the air. The two of them looked at each other across the distance. Quan Cang admitted that he felt a little flustered at that moment.
Xu Yuehuai didn't hide. Since she had already been discovered, she stood up openly. When she stood in front of Quan Cang, Quan Cang's eyes darted away, looking somewhat unnatural. Xu Yuehuai shook her head at him, her eyes filled with dissuasion and confusion. However, all of this seemed to Quan Cang as if he were being mocked. He turned back, refusing to look at Xu Yuehuai, his stubbornness appearing somewhat comical and childish.
Xu Yuehuai said, "Stop. Look at these people. Is this the result you wanted? Are these people what they've always dreamed of becoming? I don't understand what made you like this. If only I had known sooner..."
Quan Cang interrupted Xu Yuehuai, his eyes filled with annoyance and a hint of anger, and said, "Enough! I don't want to hear your nonsense right now! I've already done it, and you must be very disappointed! Having a partner like this, after all, we came up from the bottom together, and now we've become enemies. Isn't that a bit ridiculous?"
The man's gaze held a mixture of anger and self-mockery, even a hint of sneer when he looked at Xu Yuehuai. Xu Yuehuai pursed her lips, remaining silent for a moment, hesitant.
While Xu Yuehuai hesitated, Quan Cang continued, "You were the one who brought me out of the Zhentian Clan. You didn't expect this day to come when you brought me out, did you? You raised such a wolfish and ambitious person. Have you ever regretted it? Have you ever regretted that you shouldn't have taken care of me back then and should have let me fend for myself?"
Quan Cang kept his eyes on Xu Yuehuai as he spoke, trying to figure out what she was thinking. However, after listening to his words, Xu Yuehuai's furrowed brows relaxed, and she said with a relieved expression, "What you're saying now is just your guess. How can you judge all of this with your guess? I've never regretted it. I only regret not paying more attention to you."
“If I had noticed your unusual behavior sooner, you might not be like this now, and you might feel much better. I always thought you needed to calm down, after all, that incident was a big blow to you, but I also overlooked your emotional issues.” Xu Yuehuai didn’t talk about regrets. Since it had already happened, all that could be said was that what they did back then wasn’t enough.
When Quan Cang heard these words, his eyes were filled with indescribable anger. He looked at Xu Yuehuai angrily, but for some reason, he suddenly calmed down. After calming down, he smiled and said to Xu Yuehuai, "Since you think that you are partly responsible for this matter, shouldn't we stop pursuing it? Wouldn't it be a very good thing if we just let each other go?"
Quan Cang stared intently at Xu Yuehuai, his eyes unblinking, as if to say, "If you don't agree today, then you're a hypocrite." Yan Zhi, hearing this and seeing the people around them staring, her expression darkened. She tugged at Xu Yuehuai's sleeve, her eyes filled with righteous indignation, and said, "This person is malicious! Don't fall for it! How could he say such things? Everything you just said was clearly in his favor. Even if he's not grateful, shouldn't he at least be more polite? Instead, he deliberately set a trap for you! It's outrageous!"
Quan Cang had obviously heard Yan Zhi say these words. His gaze shifted from Xu Yuehuai to Yan Zhi standing next to him, his eyes filled with scrutiny and probing. Clearly, he was in a bad mood after hearing her words. Quan Cang had heard everything she said, but he remained expressionless, his eyes fixed on the two of them.
Xu Yuehuai thought for a moment, then said, "Who is guilty? Who is innocent? This definition is too one-sided. He may have done it intentionally or unintentionally. He just wants my opinion."
Xu Yuehuai's words left Yan Zhi completely bewildered, making it hard to understand what he was talking about. She scratched her head, looking puzzled, and said, "So you're not going to hold it against him? Is this matter going to be so easily forgotten?"
Yan Zhi looked at Xu Yuehuai. She was so embarrassed by Xu Yuehuai, yet she didn't hold it against her. It was truly hard to describe how she could bear it.
Xu Yuehuai did not rush to answer Yan Zhi's question, but instead looked at Quan Cang above her. With a hint of ruthlessness and seriousness in her eyes, she said, "Impossible. Since you have made a mistake, you must be punished. This is inevitable."
Quan Cang smiled, his face showing a hint of innocence and grievance, and said, "What you're saying is a bit unfair to me. I was just doing what I wanted to do, so why is it being treated as something I shouldn't have done?"
Quan Cang acted like a complete rogue, which made it impossible for Xu Yuehuai and the others to do anything about her.
Seeing this, Sect Leader Yan was furious. Pointing his weapon at the person in front of him, he said angrily, "You little thief, you are truly audacious! Today I will punish you properly and show you what my power is!"
Sect Leader Yan still had blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, clearly indicating he had just been beaten. However, his face was filled with resentment and rage, and his gaze towards Quan Cang was filled with irreconcilable hatred. Quan Cang was in a better mood now and still had the energy to deal with these people. "You're just making a last-ditch effort, or do you really think I have a good temper? Someone you can afford to offend?"
Quan Cang spoke in a deep voice, with an imposing presence that sent shivers down one's spine just by listening to it.
For a moment, the others dared not speak out in anger. Sect Leader Yan snorted coldly and said, "I will never submit to someone like you. I swear to fight to the death!"
"We'll fight to the death! We absolutely must not bow down to this kind of person. If we do, how will we ever talk about us to our younger generations in the future!"
"Resist them, all of you!" The people following behind Sect Master Yan also began to shout.
