Chapter 764 Yan Qing's Letter

He picked up the child, gently rocked him, and soothed him, saying, "Don't cry, little Ping An, Daddy's here."

He thought that there would be more and more days like this in the future, and he would take good care of the family and the children with Xu Yuehuai.

The morning sunlight streamed gently through the gaps in the curtains, illuminating the quiet bedroom. In this warm and peaceful atmosphere, Xu Yuehuai slowly opened her eyes.

She felt Qi Guze get up beside her, leaving only the empty seat next to her with the lingering warmth of his body. Xu Yuehuai gently turned her head and saw Qi Guze standing by the bed, carefully tidying up the baby's crib.

His movements were gentle and practiced, clearly the result of countless repetitions. His eyes were filled with care, as if nothing in the world could be more important than this.

"You're awake," Qi Guze said softly, his gaze never leaving the child.

"Yes, good morning to you too," Xu Yuehuai replied, a sweet smile playing on her lips.

After a while, the child finally calmed down. Qi Guze returned to the kitchen and continued making breakfast. His movements were skillful, each one full of strength and rhythm.

Xu Yuehuai watched his retreating figure, a warm feeling welling up inside her. She knew that this man had gotten up so early for her and their child.

The kitchen was filled with the aroma of food, mingling with the fresh air outside the window, creating a feeling of immense comfort and satisfaction. Xu Yuehuai slowly walked over and gently hugged Qi Guze from behind.

"You've worked hard," she said softly, resting her head on his shoulder.

Qi Guze turned around and gave her a gentle smile: "It's not hard work for our family."

Breakfast was prepared quickly. Qi Guze carefully fed the child, while Xu Yuehuai watched quietly from the side. Their eyes met, as if they were silently exchanging their feelings.

After breakfast, Qi Guze carried the child, and Xu Yuehuai took his arm, and the three of them went for a walk together.

Many guards were already practicing martial arts in the early morning, their faces beaming with ease and joy. Qi Guze and Xu Yuehuai exchanged a smile, as if at that moment, the whole world belonged to them.

The child waved his little hands happily in Qi Guze's arms, his clear laughter echoing in the air and attracting envious glances from passersby. They walked past a flowerbed, where all kinds of flowers were in full bloom, vying for attention with their beauty.

Xu Yuehuai bent down and gently sniffed the petals, taking a deep breath and feeling the freshness and beauty of nature. Qi Guze, on the other hand, was teasing the child, sometimes lifting him up, sometimes spinning him around. Their laughter floated in the morning breeze, like a beautiful melody.

"Do you know? With you all by my side, I feel that life is full of hope and beauty," Qi Guze said, looking at Xu Yuehuai with deep affection in his eyes.

“Me too,” Xu Yuehuai replied, her face beaming with a happy smile. “Let’s work together to make this family better and better.”

They continued their stroll along the path, enjoying this rare moment of tranquility. They talked about their plans and hopes for the future, and shared their dreams and aspirations.

On this ordinary day, they had an extraordinary moment: the reunion and happiness of the family of three.

As the sun rose higher and people who had been exercising in the morning returned home, Qi Guze and his family also went home.

Qi Guze was reviewing official documents in his study, his brows furrowed and his expression grave.

Outside the window, the spring breeze was gentle, and willow catkins danced lightly, but all this beautiful scenery could not alleviate his inner worries.

Suddenly, a letter from Yan Qing was placed on his desk. Qi Guze opened the envelope, and Yan Qing's familiar handwriting came into view.

"My lord, there is an urgent matter in the Great Zhou Kingdom recently, a matter of great importance. I cannot come in person to report it, so I can only inform you by letter. The situation in the Great Zhou court is turbulent. Many powerful ministers are plotting and causing trouble. I know you are busy with your affairs, but this matter concerns the safety of our country, so I have no choice but to write to inform you. Please make a decision quickly, my lord."

After reading the letter, Qi Guze's face darkened. He knew in his heart that although Yan Qing had put it tactfully, the matter was probably far more complicated than what was written in the letter.

He looked up at the window; the sky was overcast with dark clouds, and thunder rumbled. A storm was brewing.

At this moment, the door to the inner room was gently pushed open, and Xu Yuehuai slowly walked in. Her face was slightly pale, but her eyes remained firm.

She walked gently to Qi Guze's side and said softly, "Aze, what's wrong? You don't look well."

Qi Guze handed Yan Qing's letter to Xu Yuehuai and said in a deep voice, "Something terrible has happened in the Great Zhou Kingdom, and I must go back."

After reading the letter, Xu Yuehua frowned. She knew that Qi Guze had a special affection for the Great Zhou Kingdom; it was his homeland and the place where he had made great military achievements.

She gently took Qi Guze's hand and said, "Aze, you must be careful. The affairs of the Great Zhou Kingdom are important, but your safety is even more crucial."

Qi Guze nodded, his heart filled with worry, but even more so with determination and resolve. He knew he couldn't stand idly by; the affairs of the Great Zhou Kingdom concerned countless people. He had to return, he had to protect that land and its people.

"Yuehuai, I'll be careful." Qi Guze looked at Xu Yuehuai with deep affection. "You and the child wait for me to come back."

Xu Yuehuai's eyes reddened slightly; she knew this separation was different from the past. She gently hugged Qi Guze, as if trying to pour all her reluctance and worry into the embrace.

The two embraced tightly, and time seemed to stand still. Gradually, the storm outside intensified. Lightning flashed across the sky, and thunder roared deafeningly. Yet, inside the study, all was quiet and warm.

Two hearts were tightly bound together, facing the challenges to come. Qi Guze gently pushed Xu Yuehuai away, his eyes filled with determination and resolve.

He said softly, "I'll be back as soon as possible." With that, he turned and left, his figure disappearing into the wind and rain.

Xu Yuehuai stood by the window, watching the figure gradually disappear from sight, tears streaming down her face. Her heart was filled with reluctance and worry. Yet, she understood even more clearly that Qi Guze had gone for something more important. She silently prayed for his safety and success.

The storm continued to ravage the land. Yet, in the study, Xu Yuehuai's eyes were filled with anticipation and hope.

She knew her husband was fighting for the Great Zhou Kingdom, battling for their future. She would wait for him to return, waiting for the day their family would be reunited.

Since Qi Guze left, Xu Yuehuai has temporarily moved into the Wuling Kingdom's palace to better protect herself and her child.

The warm spring sun shone through the sheer curtains, quietly spreading across the magnificent palace floor, shimmering with a soft glow.
