Chapter 791 Desperate Poisoning

Xu Yuehua nodded and stepped into the palace, feeling a sense of oppression wash over her.

The palace was lavishly furnished, but this luxury carried a sinister atmosphere.

Xu Yuehuai couldn't help but feel a chill. She saw Wu Hanqing, who was sitting on a huge dragon throne, looking at her with cold eyes.

Xu Yuehuai stepped forward, bowed, and said, "This servant greets Your Majesty."

Wu Hanqing didn't speak, but simply waved his hand to signal her to get up.

He picked up the glass of wine in front of him, took a small sip, and said, "Do you know why I asked you to come here?"

Xu Yuehuai shook her head. "I don't know."

Wu Hanqing sneered, "You don't know? Then do you know why the Seventh Princess Consort came to see you today?"

Xu Yuehuai was startled, but still firmly replied, "This servant does not know."

Wu Hanqing's eyes turned sharp. "You don't know? Don't you know your own identity? You are the one I have chosen. Even if you don't submit to me now, the Seventh Princess will not let you go. She will do everything she can to deal with you."

"Therefore, if you are a wise person, you should know who to seek refuge with!"

In the solemn atmosphere, a hint of alertness flashed in Xu Yuehuai's eyes.

She stood in the deep palace, Wu Hanqing's words echoing in her ears, deliberately pretending not to understand anything. A stubborn look appeared on her face, and her eyes shone with an indomitable light, as if telling Wu Hanqing that she would not easily give in.

Wu Hanqing looked at Xu Yuehuai's expression and a cold smile curled at the corner of his mouth. He took a step forward, getting closer to Xu Yuehuai, and said with a hint of threat in his tone, "Don't you want to be second only to the emperor? As long as you behave yourself, I will naturally give you everything that all the women in the world want."

Xu Yuehuai was filled with anger. She suppressed her rage and stared coldly at Wu Hanqing. "I am not like those other women. All I want is to be with one person for life."

Upon hearing this, a ruthless glint flashed in Wu Hanqing's eyes.

He grabbed Xu Yuehuai's wrist with such force that it caused her pain. He pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly.

Xu Yuehuai felt a sense of panic. She tried to struggle, but found that she could not break free from Wu Hanqing's restraints at all.

She was secretly anxious and reached for the dagger at her waist.

Seeing Xu Yuehuai's actions, Wu Hanqing assumed she was offering herself up as a bedmate, and a wicked smile crept onto his lips.

He reached out to pick up Xu Yuehuai and walk towards the bedside. Xu Yuehuai was startled; she knew she couldn't just sit and wait to die.

She quickly drew her dagger and, taking advantage of Wu Hanqing's momentary lapse in attention, pressed it against his neck.

Wu Hanqing was stunned for a moment, not expecting Xu Yuehuai to be so decisive. Looking at Xu Yuehuai's firm eyes, he couldn't help but feel a little apprehensive.

Taking advantage of the situation, Xu Yuehuai knocked Wu Hanqing unconscious and dragged him to the bed. She cautiously looked around, and after confirming that no one else was around, she immediately began searching for the imperial edict in the palace.

The palace was silent, save for Xu Yuehuai's rapid breathing and heartbeat. She hurried through the rooms, carefully searching every corner.

However, just as she was about to find the imperial edict, she suddenly heard the voice of the Seventh Princess outside the door.

Xu Yuehuai was startled; she knew the Seventh Princess Consort was not someone to be trifled with. She had no time to continue searching for the imperial edict and had no choice but to hide.

She quickly hid in a concealed closet and held her breath.

The Seventh Princess Consort pushed open the door and entered, a cold smile on her face. She glanced around, not finding Xu Yuehuai, and then went to the bedside to check on Wu Hanqing's condition.

The Seventh Princess looked at the unconscious Wu Hanqing and a smile appeared on her lips.

Xu Yuehuai wondered why the Seventh Princess Consort would be here. Had she noticed something unusual about her?

She felt a vague unease, but couldn't quite put her finger on why.

Xu Yuehuai felt uneasy. She didn't know whether she should stay here or leave this place of trouble as soon as possible.

But just as she was about to leave, she suddenly heard a strange sound.

Xu Yuehuai took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.

After carefully leaving the cabinet, she opened the window, preparing to leave quietly.

However, just then, she heard another strange sound. The sound was coming from Wu Hanqing's room, and Xu Yuehuai's heart tightened; she knew this was definitely not a good thing.

She quietly approached Wu Hanqing's room and peeked inside through the crack in the door.

The room was dimly lit. The Seventh Princess slowly took off her outer garment, revealing her snow-white skin.

She climbed onto Wu Hanqing's bed and leaned down to whisper something in his ear.

Xu Yuehuai couldn't hear what she was saying, but she could feel an eerie atmosphere permeating the room.

The Seventh Princess's breath gently brushed against Wu Hanqing's cheek, and a strange light shone in her eyes.

She slowly unbuttoned Wu Hanqing's clothes, revealing his muscular chest.

Xu Yuehuai's heart trembled. She didn't know what the Seventh Princess Consort wanted to do, but she could feel an unease spreading through her heart.

Just then, Xu Yuehuai suddenly heard footsteps. Startled, she immediately headed towards a deserted corner ahead.

Suddenly, a figure quietly walked in.

Xu Yuehuai thought the other party was an enemy and immediately prepared to fight him.

But then, a familiar voice rang out, "It's me!"

Upon closer inspection, Xu Yuehuai realized that the person who had come was none other than A Qi.

With a mysterious smile on his face, Ah Qi led Xu Yuehuai into an empty room next door and then closed the door.

Xu Yuehuai was filled with doubt. What was Ah Qi doing here?

She took the medicine, her heart filled with mixed emotions. She knew that this was a plan devised by Ah Qi to protect her safety, but she also knew that if this was discovered, neither she nor Ah Qi would escape disaster.

However, she was even more unwilling to take it off.

"I will definitely be careful and won't let you down," Xu Yuehuai said firmly, taking a deep breath.

A hint of relief flashed in Ah Qi's eyes. He patted Xu Yuehuai's shoulder and said, "I believe in you, Yuehuai. You've always been the person I trust the most."

As night fell, Xu Yuehuai secretly went to the imperial kitchen. Her hands trembled slightly as she slowly poured the packet of powder into Wu Hanqing's dinner.

This process seemed to have exhausted all her strength; after finishing, she felt her heart was about to leap out of her throat. Carefully handling everything, Xu Yuehuai quickly returned to her courtyard.

Qin'er emerged from the shadows, her eyes filled with worry. "Miss, are you alright?"

Xu Yuehua forced a smile. "It's alright, everything went smoothly."

In the dead of night, Xu Yuehuai tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.
