Chapter 1142 Swift Action

The two exchanged a glance, a resolute glint in their eyes. They decided to act immediately and destroy the cult's stronghold in one fell swoop.

As night fell, the temple's outline loomed in the moonlight. Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze led an elite team, quietly approaching the temple. They divided their tasks: one was responsible for perimeter security, while the other infiltrated the temple to investigate.

The temple was dimly lit, and an eerie atmosphere filled the air. Xu Yuehuai moved forward cautiously, afraid of alerting the enemy.

Suddenly, a slight noise came from the source of the sound, and she immediately looked alertly towards it.

Several corpse-drivers were sitting together, seemingly discussing something.

Xu Yuehuai's heart stirred. She held her breath and quietly moved closer, wanting to hear their conversation.

The night was hazy, the moonlight like water. A dilapidated temple lay hidden deep in the dark forest. Xu Yuehuai pressed herself tightly against the corner of the wall, her heart pounding like a drum. She knew all too well that if her whereabouts were exposed, the consequences would be unimaginable.

However, at that moment, one of the corpse-drivers seemed to sense her presence and abruptly looked up in the direction where she was hiding. His empty eyes gleamed with an eerie light, as if they could see through any disguise.

Xu Yuehuai thought to herself, "This is bad!" and moved to rush out.

But just then, a familiar voice came from outside: "Ah Yue, be careful!"

Xu Yuehua felt a warmth in her heart, knowing that Qi Guze had arrived. She took a deep breath, calmed her emotions, and waited for the best opportunity to make her move.

"Whoosh—!"

Immediately afterward, a flurry of flashing swords and shadows appeared as Qi Guze charged into the temple, engaging in fierce combat with the corpse-driver. His longsword moved with impenetrable speed, each swing accompanied by a sharp whistling sound.

"superior!"

Seeing this, Xu Yuehuai no longer hesitated, drew her longsword, and joined the battle. Her swordsmanship was equally superb, and she and Qi Guze cooperated perfectly. The two of them, one in front and one behind, forced the corpse driver to retreat step by step.

"Who exactly are these guys? Why are they here?" Xu Yuehuai asked while brandishing his sword.

“They should be members of a cult,” Qi Guze replied. “I’ve heard some rumors in Beijing that a cult uses drugs to control living people, turning them into zombie-like beings to carry out evil missions.”

Upon hearing this, Xu Yuehuai was filled with rage. She couldn't believe that there were such wicked people in the world who would exploit living people for their own selfish gain.

“We must destroy this cult as soon as possible!” she said through gritted teeth.

Qi Guze nodded in agreement: "That's right, these corpse drivers are just the tip of the iceberg. There's an even bigger conspiracy waiting for us to uncover."

Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze held longswords, their tips pointing towards the ground, radiating a chilling aura. Their faces bore resolute and ruthless expressions, as if they were already prepared for the fierce battle to come.

"These corpse drivers are really cunning," Qi Guze said in a low voice, his gaze as sharp as a hawk's as he scanned his surroundings.

“Yes, but they will ultimately not escape the punishment of justice,” Xu Yuehuai responded, his voice firm and powerful.

Suddenly, a gust of cold wind blew by, and the "corpse men" slowly emerged from the darkness like zombies, their eyes vacant and their steps stiff.

Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze exchanged a glance, nodded in tacit agreement, then drew their longswords and charged toward the enemy.

The flashes of swords and the clanging of metal echoed incessantly. Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze's swordsmanship was incredibly fierce, each swing seemingly carrying the force of a thunderbolt. Their figures intertwined in the moonlight, like two bolts of lightning dancing in the air.

With a "thud," Qi Guze's longsword pierced the chest of a corpse-driving man, and blood splattered out. He quickly pulled out the sword and turned to face the next enemy.

Xu Yuehuai leaped onto the back of a corpse-driver, swung his sword, and decapitated him. His movements were swift and ruthless, giving his enemy no chance to catch his breath.

After a fierce battle, the corpse drivers fell one after another, and the corpses themselves lost their ability to fight, leaving the dilapidated temple in ruins. Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze stood on the ruins, panting heavily, and smiled at each other.

"We've finally taken them down," Qi Guze said, a rare look of relief on his face.

“Yes, but this is just the beginning,” Xu Yuehuai replied, her gaze fixed on the distance, as if she were contemplating her next plan.

During the interrogation, they learned that these corpse drivers were indeed members of a cult.

Those "corpse people" were controlled by drugs, lost their self-awareness, and became "zombies" who obeyed orders.

The leaders of cult organizations have used this method to control a large number of people to carry out various evil tasks.

Upon learning the truth, Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze became even more determined to destroy the cult. They decided to take immediate action and completely eradicate this evil organization.

The two left the dilapidated temple and returned to the capital. They reported the matter to Emperor Qi Hanlin and requested military assistance to destroy the cult.

"This is outrageous! We'll have to ask you, my uncle and aunt, for help with this!"

Upon hearing this, Qi Hanlin was furious and immediately ordered the mobilization of elite troops to cooperate with Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze's actions.

The night was as dark as ink, and the figures of Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze were faintly visible in the swaying shadows of the trees.

Their elite soldiers approached the cult's base silently, like ghosts.

A gentle breeze swept by, bringing with it a sense of unease, as if foreshadowing an impending storm.

"It seems these cult members are plotting something sinister again," Qi Guze said in a low voice, his brows furrowed and his eyes flashing with a sharp light. Dressed in a black bodysuit, he stood tall and straight, like a cheetah in the night, ready to pounce on its prey at any moment.

“Whatever they want to do, we must stop them,” Xu Yuehuai replied, her voice firm and powerful. She wore silver armor, held a longsword, and her eyes gleamed with courage and determination. She took a deep breath, as if inhaling all the darkness of the night, transforming it into her own strength.

The two men led their soldiers silently toward the cult's base.

The base was brightly lit, and the busy figures of the corpse drivers swayed in the light, as if performing some mysterious ritual. They muttered incantations, and their movements were eerie and swift, sending chills down one's spine.

"Take this!"

Suddenly, Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze launched an attack. Their figures rushed towards the corpse driver like lightning, their long swords gleaming coldly in the moonlight.

In an instant, amidst the flashing swords and glints of blades, the corpse drivers fell one after another.

"Charge!" Xu Yuehuai shouted, leading his soldiers into the base.

They were like tigers descending the mountain, unstoppable.

The cult members fled in panic, but no matter where they ran, they could not escape the pursuit of Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze.
