"Third brother, is there another newcomer? Quickly spread out, let me see what this newcomer looks like! All of you, get out of the way, quick, quick!" Before they could see the person, they heard the voice, which was a bit sharp. The next second, a person descended from the sky and landed in front of them. He looked up at Xu Yuehuai's face with this gesture, which was incredibly comical. However, no one around him found it strange and they all stopped to watch the scene. When Fu Ziyi saw that the man's face was about to touch Xu Yuehuai's, he stepped forward and separated the two of them.
"Speak up if you have something to say, and stand still," Fu Ziyi said impatiently.
The man stood there, his eyes filled with surprise. "You're not a monster. How could you tell what I am? Do you have some kind of magic?"
Fu Ziyi looked at this not-so-bright creature with a hint of speechlessness in his eyes. Xu Yuehuai didn't mind and walked out to look at the tree spirit, "Why are you here?"
The situation in the south of the city was far different from what they had imagined. Where were the original inhabitants of the human world? They didn't see a single person. At a glance, Xu Yuehuai could tell that most of the people on the scene were not human, but ghosts and monsters.
For a moment, everyone fell silent.
Nangong Yu curiously stepped forward and glanced at the man in front of him, then looked at the monster with amusement. The tree spirit took two steps back, looking at Nangong Yu with fear, feeling that he was not a good person and that he had a feeling that he was going to eat him up.
"This is our territory. If we're not here, where else would we be?" The tree spirit looked at Xu Yuehuai with a strange expression, his eyes filled with confusion. He also glanced at the people behind her, who all seemed odd.
"Isn't this the south side of Cangwu City?" Xu Yuehuai looked around, beginning to wonder if she had unintentionally entered another space after leaving that place.
But the tree spirit nodded, "Yes, what's so strange about it?"
Xu Yuehuai's face was serious. "When did the area south of Cangwu City become a place for demons? What about the humans who live here?"
People outside don't know what's going on inside. They won't let anyone out until things inside are resolved, so everyone just thinks everything is proceeding as usual. They even throw food in every now and then to make sure the people inside don't starve.
She had a vague suspicion in her heart, but she didn't dare to turn it into something concrete yet. Her eyes held an unreadable expression.
The tree spirit in front of her was startled. He looked at Xu Yuehuai in a daze and took a step back. The fairies around her, seeing the killing intent emanating from Xu Yuehuai, all began to look at her warily, no longer playing around. "Human, what human are you looking for? How would I know where the human you're looking for is!"
The tree spirit roared in retort, finding Xu Yuehuai utterly inexplicable. After being scolded by this strange human, he was now being asked incomprehensible questions.
Xu Yuehuai's spiritual energy surged. She was still in her original position, but in the next second, she teleported to the tree spirit's side. One of her hands was on the tree spirit's neck, and her eyes were full of threat. "If you don't tell me, I have a hundred ways to make you regret not telling me now."
Her words alerted the surrounding demons, who drew their various weapons and pointed them at Xu Yuehuai, shouting, "Release the tree spirit! What do you want?! You ill-intentioned human!"
The other fairies all rebuked Xu Yuehuai. Ying Ziping stretched out a hand, placed it on Xu Yuehuai's arm that was pinching the tree spirit, patted her arm, and advised, "Miss Xu, why don't you let him go? It's not good to keep going like this. Besides, there are so many of them. If a fight breaks out, we won't gain any advantage."
Xu Yuehuai glanced at him, the coldness in her eyes not diminishing at all, but rather becoming even more domineering. Ying Ziping was intimidated by her gaze. "Don't forget the mission we came in with. If the people here were all killed by them, then these monsters should all die too."
Fu Ziyi slowly walked forward and said to Ying Ziping with a smile, "Have you ever heard the saying, 'A life for a life'? It's a matter of course."
The tree spirit flailed its arms, trying to break free, but no matter how hard it struggled, it remained unable to move in Xu Yuehuai's grasp. Just as it was about to give up, Xu Yuehuai suddenly let go, and it fell to the ground without warning. It sat on the ground in a disheveled state, panting heavily, while touching its neck where it had been choked.
He felt his physical form was being squeezed and deformed. The first thing the tree spirit did when he could speak was point at Xu Yuehuai, his eyes filled with accusation, "You vicious woman! You started scaring us to death right from the start! You're a bad person!"
The tree spirit's words not only failed to harm Xu Yuehuai, but also made others want to laugh. Xu Yuehuai sneered, remaining vigilant. For the person in front of her, every action she took could potentially provoke their murderous intent.
She didn't think that her actions would make the tree spirit in front of her grateful and wouldn't take the opportunity to kill her.
In the shadows, Bai Sha couldn't contain his delight at seeing Xu Yuehuai like this. He excitedly rubbed his hands together in front of him, exclaiming, "Did you see that? Did you see that? She's so beautiful! I love her personality so much!"
Hei Sha stood with his arms crossed, holding a sword in his hand. Compared to Bai Sha's excitement and fascination, he appeared much calmer, his face expressionless as he gazed calmly ahead. Only when Xu Yuehuai did something beyond his expectations would he reveal a different expression.
Bai Sha couldn't wait to step forward and take Xu Yuehuai away. If it weren't for Hei Sha stopping her, she felt that she would have already won the beauty's heart by now!
Xu Yuehuai was unaware that she was being targeted. She glanced around at the fairies present and said, "This is the south of Cangwu City. Where have all the people who used to live here been taken?"
