Chapter 1737 Violent Demonic Energy

Uncle Shen left first to bring people over from the Sheng family. Old Master Sheng followed them to the entrance of the Zhentian Clan.

Xu Yuehuai glanced up and saw Qi Guze standing beside her, silent and still. But as she took a step, Qi Guze followed, never falling behind.

Looking at the Zhentian Clan, Xu Yuehuai had to admit that the construction of each sect was very similar. One of the essential features was the long staircase leading into the sect, which could be considered a way to identify whether a sect was a product of a sect.

"This is the Zhentian Clan. Remember, if anything happens, pull the firework at your waist. When you see the firework, I will lead my men to rush in." Old Master Sheng's face was serious. He would not antagonize the Zhentian Clan unless absolutely necessary.

Although the Zhentian Clan's status is not as high as that of the Sheng Family in Cangwu City, it still has a certain influence. It is not something that can be diminished simply because a sect leader has died.

Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze walked up the long staircase together without looking back. When they reached a certain point, two disciples dressed in Zhentian Clan attire blocked their way.

After asking around and learning that it was Xu Yuehuai, the two looked at each other strangely. In the end, they didn't announce it and let the two in directly.

Xu Yuehuai walked along this road without any discomfort. Her face was calm and composed as she strolled leisurely, as if she were visiting her own backyard.

She thought that Senior Brother Quan Cang might not be so lucky and was probably still lingering in the outer sect, so she didn't hesitate. After entering, she grabbed a disciple's sleeve. The disciple was in a hurry and turned his head in confusion when he saw someone grabbing him. The moment he saw Xu Yuehuai, a suspicious blush crept onto his face, and he began to stammer.

"You...you need something from me?" The disciple blushed, his eyes darting around, looking somewhat embarrassed. Anyone with eyes could tell that this disciple was probably experiencing the stirrings of first love.

Qi Guze, watching from the side, had a dark expression. Was this disciple blind or something? He was such a grown man standing right next to him, yet the disciple didn't even glance at him and completely ignored him!

"Excuse me, how do I get to the outer gate?" Xu Yuehuai asked.

The disciple blushed for a long time before finally pointing in a direction, "Just keep walking along this road until you see the archway; that's where the outer gate is."

"Is there something important for you to do at the outer sect, young lady? Why don't I take you there?" The disciple mustered his courage, wanting to go with Xu Yuehuai.

Qi Guze, who was standing to the side, couldn't stand it any longer. He stepped forward and stood between the two of them. "There's no need to trouble yourself. We're here to find someone. Judging from your clothes, you're probably an inner disciple. You probably can't be of much help to us."

The inner and outer sects of the Zhentian Clan are so clearly separated; it would be strange if this young man in front of him could be of any help.

The disciple looked up at Qi Guze, then suddenly realized that such a person existed. Then, remembering what he had just done, he lowered his head and stammered, "You...you should be careful when you go. Recently, there's been a lot of hostility in the sect. I'm sure you've all heard about Sect Master Zhi's passing. With Sect Master Zhi's death, there's been a lot of demonic energy leaking from the sect for some reason. This demonic energy isn't aggressive; it's just temporarily lingering. The elders have checked it, and it will disappear on its own soon."

"But this demonic energy makes people irritable and easily angered. The elders felt that this matter would be troublesome to resolve and would require a lot of effort. In addition, this thing only appeared in the outer sect, so they didn't pay much attention to it," the disciple kindly explained.

Xu Yuehuai nodded, indicating that she understood, and Qi Guze pulled her away from there.

After he left, the disciples behind him kept looking back at Xu Yuehuai's departing figure, filled with deep reluctance.

He recognized the person in front of him at a glance, never expecting that Xu Yuehuai in real life would be so beautiful.

After walking for a while, Qi Guze snorted coldly, looking at Xu Yuehuai with an expression that said, "You finally noticed something was wrong with me."

"Why do you look like that?" Xu Yuehuai asked the question Qi Guze wanted her to ask.

"I'm fine. I was just watching how other men were eyeing you," Qi Guze said in a strange tone.

Xu Yuehuai knew what was going on, rolled her eyes, silently cursed him as crazy, turned around and walked ahead, ignoring what Qi Guze was doing behind her.

Following the disciple's instructions, they walked a few steps and came to an archway. They walked through the archway together, and were greeted by a wave of demonic energy. However, this was just the most ordinary aura left behind by demons who had passed through the area, and it was not aggressive at all.

There was clearly a barrier between this archway and the outside world, a testament to the painstaking effort put into preventing this aura from leaking out. Thinking this, Xu Yuehuai lifted her foot and continued walking inside.

They walked for quite a while without finding anyone. As they continued walking, they soon came across several ghost-like figures wandering outside. Xu Yuehuai looked on warily and did not approach them easily. Instead, she stood still and waited to see what was going on.

Xu Yuehuai and his companion arrived so quietly that they didn't notice and continued to wander around.

Qi Guze stopped making a fuss and positioned himself half a position in front of Xu Yuehuai, shielding her behind him.

Xu Yuehuai looked at those people. She had no intention of going over to provoke them, but this place was sparsely populated, and finding Quan Cang would not be an easy task.

They changed their route and continued walking towards the outer gate. The Zhentian Clan's territory was vast. As the number one sect, many disciples came for its reputation, so it was naturally not to be underestimated.

After walking a short distance further inside, the demonic energy was much weaker than outside, and the signs of human habitation were much stronger. Before even entering, Xu Yuehuai heard a murmur of discussion: "This lousy place, I'll leave sooner or later. Once the demonic energy at the entrance has dissipated, I'll grab my things and leave. I came to this sect thinking it was the number one sect, but now they've done something like this, it's absolutely disgusting!"

“Oh dear, who says otherwise? We’ve been trapped here for so many days and not a single person has come to take care of us. It’s outrageous!” another person wailed.

Everyone was filled with resentment. Xu Yuehuai had been standing there for a short while when she heard countless complaints about the Zhentian Clan. What chilled them the most was that the sect ignored them, the outer disciples. Several of their brothers had already died because of the demonic energy, but the sect turned a blind eye.

They also used a barrier to turn the outer gate into a place where one could only enter and not leave.
