Everyone raised their weapons to express their discontent, but in Quan Cang's eyes, it was nothing more than a struggle before death.
On the other side, on the first floor, Shui Xia sat upright in the study, her face showing anxiety and worry, constantly looking towards the door, waiting for Qi Guze to return.
"Why have you been blocking this place?! I have business with the Venerable One, and you are obstructing me. What are your intentions?!" The Grand Elder at the door suddenly came over. Shui Xia's face showed a hint of panic, but she quickly calmed down.
But the Grand Elder hasn't calmed down yet.
"Elder, we are only acting under orders. His Majesty said that no one is allowed to disturb him. If we let you in, and His Majesty holds us accountable, none of us can bear that responsibility!" The man spoke with a scrutinizing and probing look on his face.
Sure enough, the Grand Elder calmed down a bit after hearing this, but his displeasure remained on his face. "Then let me have a few words with His Excellency at the door, is that alright? You can't even do that?"
The elder's gaze remained fixed on the person in front of him, scrutinizing and probing. If this person were to utter a single word of disapproval, the elder would likely burst through the door by now, putting the guards at the door in a difficult position.
Shui Xia sat there, her mind racing. If he were allowed in today, the fact that the Venerable had gone up to the second floor would be exposed, and Miss Xu might even be threatened. So she absolutely couldn't let him find out about this.
Just as the guards hesitated, the Grand Elder approached step by step. Shui Xia watched the shadow outside the window getting closer and closer to the door. He stood up, walked to the door, and reached out to open it when another voice came.
"Dad, what are you doing here? Is there something good here? Did you give this guy something good again but not me? Are you really biased towards Qi Guze? I'm going to get angry!" Shui Xia breathed a sigh of relief when she heard this voice, her face showing obvious relaxation.
The elder looked at his son, his eyes filled with confusion, "What are you doing here? This is not a place for you. Go back right now and don't cause any trouble!"
“My dear father, you’re not right about that. How could I be here to cause trouble? I’m here to help! You just want to see my elder brother, right? Oh, why don’t you just come in? Why are you waiting at the door?” With that, the man in the purple robe pushed open the door and stood there with his arms outstretched, saying to the elder outside, “Father, look, he’s in! What good has waiting at the door done?”
The man had a smug look on his face. Shui Xia was hiding behind the door. The door was completely blocked by the man's outstretched arms, so nothing could be seen.
The Grand Elder looked at him with suspicion and was about to step inside when the guard in front of him reached out to stop him again, saying tremblingly, "Grand Elder, you cannot go in. His Majesty has given orders that no one is allowed to go in and disturb him. If anyone disobeys his orders, no one will get away with it."
The elder pointed at his rebellious son in the room and said, "You stopped me but not him. What does that mean? Do you think my status is lower than his?"
Clearly, the elder was angry when he said this. The guard in front of him trembled twice, then smiled and said, "Elder, what are you saying? Of course you are important, but I dare not forget your orders. The young master went in directly, and I had no choice but to stop him. But if I could stop him, I would have done so."
The eldest son and Shui Xia exchanged a glance through the door. Shui Xia drew her silver sword from her waist and pressed it against his waist, her face carrying a threatening look. The eldest son saw through her, chuckled twice, and then said to his father, "Father, I won't wait for you anymore. I'm going to find my eldest brother first. Since you can't come in, don't force it. Some things can't be forced. Bye-bye!"
As he spoke, the eldest son closed the door, a hint of relief on his face. After closing the door, he glanced at Shui Xia, who was still pointing her sword at him, and said, "I said you're always here brandishing your sword, but I've never seen you do anything serious. Now you've turned your weapon on me. You're really something."
Shui Xia still held her weapon, looking at the person in front of her with seriousness and intent. Only then did the young master realize the seriousness of the matter. He stared into Shui Xia's eyes for a while, and finally gave in, saying, "Alright, alright, I give up, okay? I'll just stand here, not say anything, not do anything."
As he spoke, the eldest young master lifted his clothes with both hands and sat down on the ground, his face relaxed and carefree, showing no sign of nervousness. After sitting down, he glanced at Shui Xia twice, smiled, and said, "Look at you, why are you so nervous? Do you think I'm a monster? That I'll eat you? Besides, don't forget who just helped you block my father. It was me who came all the way here to support you. You can't be the kind of person who forgets kindness!"
The eldest young master pointed at the person in front of him and spoke, his eyes filled with resentment. Shui Xia put away her weapon when she heard this, but her face still showed some disgust and dislike. "You have nothing to do all day but come to see my master. Now look what you've done, you've come, and you're so self-righteous about it."
"If you dare to reveal even a single word about what happened inside today, I'll make sure you lose your life!" Shui Xia brandished her weapon in front of him for a long time.
The eldest son moved the object aside and said, "Alright, alright, these little tricks of yours, who are you trying to scare? Don't you know what kind of person I am? Don't worry, I definitely won't go around saying anything!"
"But where did this eldest brother go? He hasn't shown up for several days. Could he be keeping someone on the side?" the eldest son joked, placing his hands on his thighs with a look of curiosity on his face.
Shui Xia glanced at him with disdain and speechlessness in her eyes, ignored him, and sat back down in her previous seat.
When the eldest son saw that Shui Xia avoided answering the question, his eyes immediately became interested. He stood up from the ground, came to Shui Xia's side, and looked at her with a curious and inquisitive gaze.
