However, Qi Guze's injury affected his performance, and his movements gradually became sluggish.
Seizing the opportunity, the enemy swarmed forward and surrounded him.
Qi Guze took a deep breath, preparing for a final stand.
"Surrender! You are no match for us!"
"Heh, if you want to catch me, you'll have to cultivate for decades!"
The enemy sneered and swiftly attacked Qi Guze!
"Go to hell!"
Qi Guze raised his sword to resist, constantly defending!
However, his injuries were too severe, and his strength gradually diminished. As attacks rained down on him, he felt himself becoming increasingly unable to withstand them.
At that moment, a whooshing sound rang out, and an arrow flew in, accurately striking an enemy in the throat.
The enemy screamed and collapsed to the ground.
The other enemies all looked in the direction from which the sound came, and saw an archer dressed in black appear in the darkness. His face was covered by a mask, revealing only a pair of cold eyes.
"Do you still dare to continue the pursuit?" the archer asked coldly.
The enemy looked at each other, hesitant and undecided.
A powerful aura emanated from the archer, and the enemy was so intimidated by the archer's aura that they dared not move for a moment.
Qi Guze also looked at the archer in surprise. He realized that this person had come to save him.
The archer walked up to Qi Guze, extended his palm, and a warm power flowed into Qi Guze's body.
His injuries began to heal slowly, and his strength gradually returned.
"Are you alright?" the archer asked.
Qi Guze nodded, looking gratefully at the archer, "Thank you for saving me."
Just then, the sound of horses' hooves came from afar, and a cavalry force charged over.
"Lord Zhang's men are here!" the archer shouted. "Quick, follow me!"
Qi Guze did not hesitate and immediately followed the archers to escape the battlefield.
Soon after, they arrived at a secluded cave. The cave was pitch black, with only a faint light coming from the entrance.
"Thank you for saving me." Qi Guze bowed to the archer in gratitude. "May I ask your esteemed name, hero?"
The archer waved his hand, "No need to be polite, I saved you for Miss Xu's sake."
"Miss Xu?" Qi Guze was taken aback. "What is your relationship with her?"
"I can't tell you that," the archer said indifferently.
"My only responsibility is to protect your safety."
"All right."
Qi Guze took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. "So what should we do now?"
"You stay here and recover from your injuries. I'll go find some herbs," the archer said, turning and walking out of the cave.
Qi Guze watched his retreating figure, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes.
He leaned against the cave wall, closed his eyes, and pondered his next plan.
He must recover his strength as soon as possible, find Xu Yuehuai, and then work together to find a way to leave this dangerous place.
While waiting in the cave, Qi Guze began to wonder if the archers' appearance was related to Xu Yuehuai.
He recalled that Xu Yuehuai had mentioned a mysterious person who had been secretly helping them.
Qi Guze was shocked. Could this archer be the mysterious person?
If that's the case, is Xu Yuehuai also in danger now?
Qi Guze was extremely anxious; he had to find Xu Yuehuai as soon as possible to ensure her safety.
Not long after, the archer returned with some herbs.
He skillfully processed the herbs, crushing them and applying them to Qi Guze's wounds.
“These are medicinal herbs for healing; they should help with your injuries,” the archer said.
Qi Guze nodded. "Thank you. I still don't know how to address a hero."
“My name is Ling Feng,” the archer replied simply.
"Lingfeng? What a nice name," Qi Guze praised.
There was a moment of silence between them, and the atmosphere became somewhat awkward.
"I wonder why Brother Ling is here." Qi Guze tried to ease the tension.
“I already said I can’t tell you,” Ling Feng replied.
Qi Guze smiled slightly, "I understand. I'm just a little curious."
He stopped pressing the matter and instead asked, "So what should we do next?"
"Once your injuries have healed a bit, we'll go find Miss Xu," Ling Feng replied.
"Okay." Qi Guze nodded in agreement.
The atmosphere between the two became quiet, but neither of them said anything more.
They all knew that the most important thing now was to find Xu Yuehuai and leave this place together.
Night fell, and the cave was completely silent.
Ling Feng sat at the cave entrance, cautiously observing the situation outside.
Qi Guze leaned against the cave wall, closed his eyes to rest, and tried to recover his strength.
During his recovery period, Qi Guze kept thinking about the ins and outs of the whole incident.
By the next morning, Qi Guze's injuries had improved considerably.
He and Ling Feng left the cave and began searching for Xu Yuehuai's whereabouts.
They proceeded along the mountain path, carefully avoiding Lord Zhang's men along the way.
After a search, they finally found Xu Yuehuai in a dense forest.
She was hiding behind a large tree, her face pale and looking very tired.
"Yuehuai!" Qi Guze rushed over and helped Xu Yuehuai up.
"Aze, you're here." Xu Yuehuai's eyes flashed with joy when she saw Qi Guze.
"Are you alright?" Qi Guze asked with concern.
Xu Yuehuai shook her head. "I'm fine, just a little tired."
Ling Feng walked over to them. "Let's leave here first."
Suddenly they saw a large group of people heading towards the high mountain.
“Those people must be the Crown Prince’s men!” Qi Guze said. “Should we go back and check the situation?”
"OK!"
Xu Yuehua nodded and followed them back to the place where Lord Zhang had just imprisoned her.
The battle situation had changed by then. The melee lasted for a long time, and eventually Lord Zhang and his men were surrounded by the Crown Prince's troops.
Seeing that the situation was hopeless, Lord Zhang was unwilling to give up. Suddenly, he spotted Qi Guze and Xu Yuehuai hiding in the crowd. He glared at them and said, "Do you think you can beat me like this? Let me tell you, you're still too green!"
Qi Guze looked at him coldly, "Do you think your scheme will succeed? I have already arranged for people to surround us, you have no chance."
Lord Zhang's expression changed, clearly not expecting things to develop this way. "No! This is impossible! I had arranged for many people beforehand, how could I have been surrounded by you?"
However, the facts were already laid bare, and no matter how unwilling he was, he could not change the situation.
The eldest prince breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Qi Guze and Xu Yuehuai were safe and sound. "It's good that you're alright."
"You are surrounded! Surrender now!" the First Prince shouted.
He walked up to Lord Zhang and said, "Lord Zhang, you have colluded with foreign enemies and plotted treason. Now the evidence is irrefutable. What else do you have to say?"
Lord Zhang's face was ashen as he stared at the eldest prince without uttering a word. He knew his fate was sealed.
