"No, no, we were just discussing how to rescue you, that's why we didn't hear you knocking on the door." Qi Guze was the first to react, and then stepped inside again.
"Yes, yes, we were just about to set off to rescue you, how did you end up coming back on your own?" Third Sister also realized what was happening and followed Qi Guze inside.
"Did that Princess Yinshan overhear my plan and get so scared that she let Manager Xu go?" Tie Xiong finally realized what was going on, and then said this with a silly smile before stepping inside.
Zhou Wan was still inside and hadn't gone out. The moment she saw Xu Yuehuai, she was so excited that tears welled up in her eyes, and she rushed forward and hugged Xu Yuehuai tightly.
“Ah Yue, we were discussing with the Prince and were planning to rescue you tonight.” Zhou Wan directly stated their original arson plan.
Xu Yuehuai's lips twitched slightly. She never expected Qi Guze to join in the nonsense. Turning around, she scolded, "Your Highness, have you lost your mind? Isn't that like taking everyone on an adventure? Luckily, I came back, otherwise who knows what kind of trouble you would have caused?"
As she spoke, she stared intently at Qi Guze, but Qi Guze touched his nose and said nothing, only asking calmly, "How did you get out of there? I don't believe Princess Yinshan would be so kind as to let you out."
Xu Yuehuai spread his hands and said with a smile, "Well, who can blame me for being so good at cooking? Princess Yinshan had been suffering from water and soil incompatibility for days, and today she was vomiting non-stop. The imperial physicians were helpless, but after eating the cake I made, she felt better instantly, so we reached an agreement."
"What do you mean, 'consistent'?" Qi Guze's jaw nearly dropped to the ground in shock. He never imagined it would turn out so dramatically.
“I bring her pastries every day, and she lets me come back.” She shrugged as she spoke, indicating that she was also helpless.
Qi Guze frowned upon hearing this. It wasn't that he didn't trust Xu Yuehuai, but rather that he didn't trust Princess Yinshan. After all, Princess Yinshan had said that they would join forces to seize the throne that day. She didn't seem like someone who could be easily appeased with a cake. Moreover, she had even used Xu Yuehuai as leverage back then. So why would she let Xu Yuehuai go so easily now?
Qi Guze felt increasingly uneasy as he thought about it, and his heart began to pound. He feared it was some kind of trickery, so he took two steps forward and said, "A-Yue, I think you'd better go out and hide for a while. After all, Princess Yinshan is unpredictable. What if she decides to kidnap you again one day?"
As he spoke, he stared intently at Xu Yuehuai, his eyes brimming with heartache.
San Niang and Zhou Wan nodded in agreement, but Tie Xiong muttered something indifferently. Although no one heard him clearly, it didn't sound like a nice remark. Xu Yuehuai waved his hand at them.
"Don't worry, I'm perfectly safe. And I should go back to the palace now. Princess Yinshan can't do anything to me there, can she?" Xu Yuehuai said, giving them a reassuring smile. Although she said that, no one could predict the future, and everyone was still very worried.
Qi Guze's eyes flickered slightly, but he didn't say anything more. He knew that Xu Yuehuai had made up her mind, and it would be a waste of breath for him to say anything more. He might as well save his energy. Meanwhile, San Niang and Zhou Wan surrounded her with tears in their eyes.
"Ah Yue, it's better for you to go back to the palace; it'll be safer there," Third Sister said, stroking Xu Yuehuai's hair. After all, this incident had worried her terribly, and it seemed like she had even sprouted a few white hairs.
Zhou Wan didn't know at first, but after she found out, she was extremely worried and chimed in, "Yes, Yue, I was so worried when I heard the news. You should be careful in the future; who knows who might kidnap you one day?"
Upon hearing this, Xu Yuehuai quickly reassured the two of them: "Don't worry, I'm fine. See, I'm perfectly alright."
After speaking, Xu Yuehuai circled around in place to indicate that she was indeed alright.
Seeing this, San Niang and Zhou Wan forced a smile, but the smile looked even worse than crying. However, Xu Yuehuai couldn't comfort them anymore. She had to hurry to the Duke of Zhenguo's mansion to tell them that she was safe and sound. They must be very worried.
"I'll go to the Duke of Zhenguo's residence first to tell them about the recent events, and then I'll go straight back to the palace. We can talk about anything else when I get back." Xu Yuehuai waved his hand and left.
Qi Guze wanted to say something, but in the end he only opened his mouth but said nothing. Instead, he silently followed her out, worried that she would be kidnapped again.
Xu Yuehuai naturally sensed that someone was following her. Although she couldn't see who it was, she felt it must be Qi Guze. She chuckled and then hurried towards the Duke of Zhenguo's mansion.
"Ah Yue, you've been negotiating this deal for quite a while now," Xu Yuehuai said with a smile as she greeted the Duchess of Zhenguo, who had just stepped inside.
Xu Yuehua frowned slightly upon hearing this, but immediately realized that this must be Qi Guze and his group's excuse. Not wanting her to worry about it, she rolled her eyes and said with a smile, "It's all my fault, godmother. I didn't expect that shopkeeper to be so eloquent, offering me a 10% profit right away. Do you think I can agree to that?"
She then spoke indignantly to the Duke and his wife, venting all her dissatisfaction with Princess Yinshan. The Duke and his wife listened in a daze, as they didn't know much about business matters.
As the two were talking, a servant came in to report, "Master and Madam, a woman has arrived outside and specifically asked to see Miss."
Upon hearing this, Xu Yuehuai frowned. She knew that only a few people from Tianxiang Tower knew her and that their servants would not address her by this name. Therefore, it was clear that she was a stranger. However, she had only just arrived and hadn't even settled in yet, so it was likely that she had ill intentions.
"Ah Yue, you can stay here. We'll go out and take a look first." The Duchess of Zhenguo told Xu Yuehuai to stay put, while the two of them followed the servant out to take a look. She noticed Xu Yuehuai's frown and knew what she was worried about.
Upon hearing this, Xu Yuehuai put down her teacup and decided to get up and go out to see what was going on. After all, if they were really after her, not seeing her might be disadvantageous for both of them. As soon as they reached the door, they saw a familiar figure.
