Chapter 1003 Unable to Confront

She quickly put on her dress amidst the splashing water, trying her best to conceal her body from the man. Her movements were nimble and graceful, as if she were performing a beautiful dance.

Seeing Xu Yuehuai's actions, the man burst into laughter. He walked up to Xu Yuehuai, his eyes revealing a cunning and greedy look. He reached out, trying to grab Xu Yuehuai's wrist.

Xu Yuehuai quickly dodged his touch and ran away into the distance.

"Little lady, don't run away, I'm coming!" the man laughed loudly, his voice full of confidence and arrogance. He didn't seem worried that Xu Yuehuai could escape his grasp.

Xu Yuehuai was anxious; she knew she couldn't let this man capture her like this. She looked around, trying to find a way to escape.

"Swish! Swish! Swish!"

However, a large number of guards suddenly appeared in the bamboo forest, armed with weapons, blocking Xu Yuehuai's path.

Xu Yuehuai's heart sank; she knew she had nowhere to run. She could only watch helplessly as the man approached her step by step.

His eyes were filled with desire and possessiveness, as if he wanted to devour her whole.

Xu Yuehua bit her lower lip, trying to remain calm. She knew that in the face of such danger, only by staying calm could she escape unscathed.

"I'm tired, I need to rest!"

The man angrily said, "Don't even think about it! Come with me to the room right now!"

Deep within this dense bamboo forest, Xu Yuehuai's heart, like the bamboo forest shrouded in mist, was filled with confusion and unease. She looked around, her eyes revealing helplessness and vigilance.

The guards in the bamboo forest were as silent as shadows, their presence a silent testament to Xu Yuehuai's current predicament.

The man had already reached her, a sly smile on his face. He grabbed Xu Yuehuai's wrist with such force that she could barely resist.

A flicker of panic crossed her eyes, but she quickly regained her composure. She knew that the most important thing now was to stay calm.

The man didn't speak, but simply held Xu Yuehuai's wrist tightly and led her away from the bamboo forest.

Xu Yuehuai was forced to follow behind him. Although her steps were controlled by the man, her eyes were firm and resolute. She knew she had to find a chance to escape.

They arrived at a room, the man pushed open the door, and pulled Xu Yuehuai inside.

The room was luxuriously furnished, but Xu Yuehuai had no interest in appreciating it. Her gaze was fixed on the man, awaiting his next move.

The man closed the door, turned to look at Xu Yuehuai, and his eyes gleamed with lewd light.

He approached Xu Yuehuai step by step, a smug smile playing on his lips: "Little lady, you are so beautiful!"

Xu Yuehuai's heart tightened, but she didn't show it. She secretly gripped the hairpin in her hand; it was her only weapon. She had to strike the man the moment he got close.

The man drew closer, and Xu Yuehuai's heart pounded faster and faster. Just as he was about to touch her, Xu Yuehuai suddenly moved.

"call out!"

With lightning speed, she thrust the hairpin into the man's pressure point, causing him to faint.

"Um……"

The man let out a muffled groan and collapsed onto Xu Yuehuai. His eyes were filled with surprise and resentment; he never imagined that he would be defeated by a weak woman.

Xu Yuehuai pushed the man away, panting heavily, feeling both relieved and terrified.

She knew she had just escaped death, but she also understood that now was not the time to let her guard down. She had to leave this place as soon as possible and find a safe place to hide.

Xu Yuehuai looked around and saw that the furnishings inside the house were simple and elegant, yet luxurious. Some exquisite calligraphy and paintings hung on the walls, showing the owner's refined taste.

A faint fragrance filled the room, mingling with the aroma of burning incense, creating a pleasant and refreshing atmosphere.

However, Xu Yuehuai knew that there was danger hidden in this fragrance.

She cautiously walked to the window and peered out through the fine curtains. All she could see was darkness outside, with only the occasional bark of a dog in the distance adding to the mysterious and tense atmosphere.

However, she could sense that there were many powerful guards hidden in the darkness.

Xu Yuehuai knew that he was in danger and had to get rid of the guards outside in order to escape.

She returned to the center of the room and carefully observed the burning incense. Suddenly, she realized it was a peculiar, exotic spice, emitting an alluring aroma.

Xu Yuehuai had a sudden inspiration and came up with a plan. She found a bouquet of flowers in the room, picked one of them, and gently placed it into the burning incense.

Instantly, the fragrance became even more intense, transforming into an intoxicating and alluring aroma.

Xu Yuehuai's heart felt like it was hanging over an abyss. She knew that the slightest mistake could lead to utter ruin. She covered her mouth and nose, her eyes flashing with determination and vigilance. Every movement was cautious, for fear of attracting the attention of the fat, big-eared man.

She walked to the window, gently pushed open the window frame, and a cool night breeze swept in, carrying the faint moonlight and the fragrance of the distant woods.

Then, she used her sleeve to slowly disperse the sleeping incense from the room, letting it drift away on the night breeze. She knew this was the only way she could have a chance to escape.

She glanced back at the man still fast asleep on the bed, his face still bearing the lingering scent of intoxication.

Xu Yuehuai gently pushed open the door, and the night outside enveloped her like a huge piece of silk.

She saw that the guards at the door were indeed unconscious on the ground, and now was a good time to escape.

She moved as nimbly as a cat, trying to escape quietly.

However, at that moment, the fat, big-eared man on the bed suddenly woke up. His eyes gleamed with ferocity and cunning, like a hungry wolf eyeing its prey.

He grinned, revealing a row of yellowed teeth, and said with a smile, "Little lady, there are very few people who can hurt me these days, you are the first one in all these years!"

Xu Yuehuai's heart sank. She knew she had nowhere to escape. She immediately picked up the guard's knife from the ground, gripped it tightly in her hand, and the blade gleamed coldly in the moonlight.

Upon seeing this, the man burst into laughter, as if he had witnessed something amusing. He strode towards Xu Yuehuai, his hands forming claws, and pounced on her fiercely.

"Young lady, since you want to play, I'll play with you!"

Xu Yuehua reacted instantly, dodging the man's attack by sidestepping, and slashing her knife fiercely at his arm.

The man quickly withdrew his hand, but did not stop his attack. Instead, he lunged at Xu Yuehuai even more fiercely. The two fought in the cramped room, their swords flashing and their clashes deafening.
