In the days that followed, Xu Yuehuai and Bai Yu fought side by side to uncover the mystery of the Ghost Doctor's disappearance.
Like hunters in the dark, they quietly contacted secret guards in various places to gather clues about the Shadow Sect.
Whether in bustling markets or remote villages, the figures of those secret agents searching for the truth can be found everywhere.
On a dark and windy night, an important message pierced the darkness like lightning and reached the ears of Xu Yuehuai and Bai Yu.
It turns out that the Ghost Doctor was kidnapped by a mysterious force and imprisoned in an underground palace hidden deep in the mountains!
Upon learning the news, Xu Yuehuai and Bai Yu's eyes flashed with determination, and they decided to go to the rescue immediately.
However, Bai Yu was too weak to go along.
Looking at Bai Yu's pale face, Xu Yuehuai felt a lingering fear that he might go berserk again, but she also knew the urgency of the situation. She resolutely decided to lead a team of elite guards to the underground palace alone.
Deep in a dense forest, sunlight could barely penetrate the layers of leaves, casting only dappled shadows on the ground.
Xu Yuehuai led a team of bodyguards, moving silently through the dense forest. Their target was the legendary underground palace hidden deep within the woods.
"Your Highness, the entrance is just ahead," a guard whispered, pointing to a patch of ground covered in vines and weeds.
Xu Yuehua nodded, her gaze sharp as an eagle's, fixed intently on the seemingly ordinary ground. She knew that beneath this seemingly peaceful forest lay countless traps and mechanisms. A single misstep could lead to utter destruction.
She took a deep breath, signaled her guards to disperse, and cautiously approached the entrance. The entrance was riddled with intricate mechanisms and traps, some hidden underground, others suspended in mid-air. Every step required utmost care.
“Your Highness, there is a pressure plate here,” a guard said, pointing to a seemingly ordinary stone slab on the ground.
Xu Yuehuai observed carefully and saw that the stone slab was covered with fine cracks, clearly indicating that it had been carefully designed. She gently tapped the edge of the stone slab with a stone, and the slab sank slightly, but it did not trigger any mechanism.
"This should be a trap trigger point, but it has been deliberately sabotaged," Xu Yuehuai said. "Everyone be careful, there may be other traps here."
She led her guards forward, skillfully avoiding all the traps and mechanisms with her exceptional wisdom and courage. Finally, they stopped before the entrance to a dark cave.
"It seems this is the entrance to the underground palace," one of the guards said.
Xu Yuehua nodded, took a deep breath, and stepped into the cave first. The cave was dark and cold, filled with a suffocating sense of oppression. The torchlight flickered in the darkness, illuminating their path.
"Everyone, stay close to me and don't get separated," Xu Yuehuai said.
She led her guards cautiously forward, searching for any trace of the Ghost Doctor. They traversed narrow passages and climbed steep staircases. Finally, they stopped before a dark, gloomy cell.
Inside the cell were two people, the long-lost Ghost Doctor and Aze. Both were ragged and haggard, clearly having suffered inhuman torture.
Seeing this, Xu Yuehuai's anger flared instantly. She strode forward and pushed open the iron door of the cell.
"Aze! Ghost Doctor! Are you alright?" she asked anxiously.
When Ghost Doctor and Aze saw Xu Yuehuai appear, a hint of surprise and joy flashed in their eyes. They struggled to their feet and nodded to Xu Yuehuai.
"Miss Xu, what brings you here?" the Ghost Doctor asked.
“I’m here to save you,” Xu Yuehuai said. “I’ve found the entrance to this underground palace, and now we’ll leave this place.”
As she spoke, she turned to the guards and ordered, "Go and unlock the cell doors immediately. We need to leave here as soon as possible."
The guards immediately sprang into action and soon unlocked all the cell doors.
Xu Yuehuai helped the Ghost Doctor and Aze out of the cell, where they saw a group of enemy guards had already gathered.
"Hmph, trying to leave? Not so easy!" one of the guards sneered.
Xu Yuehuai didn't speak. She drew her long sword and charged towards the guard leader. A fierce battle ensued.
Xu Yuehuai moved with agility and her swordsmanship was fierce; every swing of her sword accurately struck the enemy's vitals. The guards, not to be outdone, worked in perfect coordination, quickly forcing the enemy into a retreat.
After a fierce battle, Xu Yuehuai and his guards finally defeated the enemy and successfully rescued the Ghost Doctor and Aze.
When the three regained their freedom, Xu Yuehuai finally breathed a sigh of relief. Looking at the tired but grateful eyes of the Ghost Doctor and Aze, she felt an indescribable sense of accomplishment.
She knew that all the hardships and dangers were worthwhile because she had finally found the long-lost Ghost Doctor and Aze.
"Miss Xu, thank you for saving us," the Ghost Doctor said gratefully. "I will do everything in my power to repay your kindness."
"You're welcome," Xu Yuehuai said. "The most important thing now is to leave here and get back to a safe place."
At this moment, Qi Guze stood quietly to the side, his figure almost blending into the night, only his sharp eyes shining with a firm light in the darkness.
He was filled with mixed emotions, never expecting to drag Xu Yuehuai into this unknown adventure once again. He sighed softly, his heart overflowing with gratitude and guilt towards Xu Yuehuai.
"I didn't expect to drag you into this adventure again," Qi Guze said softly, a hint of apology in his voice.
However, Xu Yuehuai smiled nonchalantly, looking at him with a firm yet gentle gaze.
In Qi Guze's vision, Xu Yuehuai's figure seemed to carry a power that pierced through the darkness, reaching the deepest part of his heart.
She gently raised the corners of her mouth, her smile as warm and bright as the rising sun. She said, "Aze, as long as you're alright, I'm at ease. We're husband and wife, and no matter how many thorns lie ahead, I will fight alongside you until the final victory."
Xu Yuehuai's words were like a spring breeze caressing Qi Guze's heart, making him feel incredibly at ease and warm.
"You should stay in the capital and recover from your injuries for now. I need to take the Ghost Doctor to the palace."
“Okay,” Qi Guze said, “Be careful on your journey.”
Xu Yuehuai smiled and nodded, then turned away reluctantly.
Qi Guze watched her leave with the Ghost Doctor, his heart filled with complex emotions. He only hoped that she would be well and that they could reunite then.
The guard suddenly said, "Master, we should go."
Qi Guze finally came to his senses; Xu Yuehuai and the others had been gone for quite some time. He gave a bitter smile and walked away...
