Chapter 435 The person is really dead

Zhang Ting was initially confused and didn't understand what Xu Yuehuai meant, but she heard a few clapping sounds coming from inside the room.

"Manager Xu, what are you doing... Ah! What are you doing?" Zhang Ting wanted to ask Xu Yuehuai what he was doing, but suddenly realized that she was being lifted up along with her blanket, and as the scene changed, she was actually carried out of the house.

"Manager Xu, what are you doing? I'm not wearing any clothes underneath, and I'm sick. You can't do this for any reason... Ouch!" Zhang Ting quickly clutched the corner of the blanket, worried that her underwear would be exposed. She kept yelling, but before she could finish her sentence, she was thrown into the carriage, and her forehead hit the carriage wall.

"Manager Xu, aren't you going too far?" she asked again after rubbing the wound a few times.

Suddenly, the carriage curtain was lifted, and Xu Yuehuai poked his head out. He stared at her for a moment, then threw all her clothes back in, and said with a smile, "If I remember correctly, you said earlier that you were weak all over. I think when I come back, I won't find that you got off the carriage."

After she finished speaking, Zhang Ting heard the footsteps outside gradually fade away. She put on her clothes and prepared to go back to her room, but then she remembered what Xu Yuehuai had just said and stopped what she was doing.

Those words seemed like concern, but they were actually a threat. Zhang Ting realized this, so she simply buried her head in the blanket and stopped talking.

At this moment, on the second floor of Tianxiang Tower, Zhou Wan and San Niang had been waiting for a long time. Xu Yuehuai sent someone to invite them, but he himself was late in arriving.

"Manager Xu isn't usually so unpunctual, is he?" Third Sister said, getting a little impatient as she stood up and stretched her limbs.

"Let's wait a little longer, they might have been delayed by something," Zhou Wan reassured him.

"I'm not in a hurry, it's just that I miss her terribly, since I haven't seen her for many days," Third Sister replied, waving her hand.

Just as Zhou Wan was about to speak, she heard familiar footsteps outside, so she stopped talking and the two of them looked towards the door at the same time.

"What? Don't you recognize me?" Xu Yuehuai asked the two people staring at her as she pushed open the door.

"Of course not," Third Sister replied with a laugh.

After exchanging pleasantries for a while, Xu Yuehuai steered the conversation to the events of the day.

"I need to go to the Underworld Kingdom right away. I'll be leaving soon. I'll leave the Tianxiang Restaurant to you two. As for the fried chicken shop, we'll talk about it when I get back." Xu Yuehuai said to the two of them, then emphasized the fried chicken shop.

"It's all my fault," Third Sister hurriedly said upon hearing this.

"It has nothing to do with you. It was my oversight. Luckily, Qi Guze was there at the time, but thankfully you're alright," Xu Yuehuai said, waving her hand.

"Is Your Highness going along this time as well?" Zhou Wan's eyebrows furrowed upon hearing this.

“He’s going too,” Xu Yuehuai nodded in reply.

"Let our family go with us too. It'll be good to have someone to look after us, and it'll be easier to explain the prince's identity to us," Zhou Wan suggested after thinking for a moment.

“We’re going to be gone for a long time this time…” Xu Yuehuai said with a smile.

He deliberately gestured with his chin towards Third Sister before finishing his sentence, and then said, "Can you handle such a long time?"

Zhou Wan realized that Xu Yuehuai was teasing her, and her cheeks quickly turned red. She said, "That...that's natural."

Xu Yuehuai and San Niang laughed heartily upon seeing this, and she agreed. The group then prepared to set off.

Before setting off, she looked at each carriage one by one. In the last carriage, she saw Qi Guze, who had already boarded. The two glanced at each other without saying a word, and she boarded the carriage.

The group set off, heading towards the Kingdom of Dark Moon.

The group walked quickly, but Zhang Ting, still sulking, refused to get off the carriage. However, she eventually got restless from the journey and couldn't resist getting out for some fresh air.

She then discovered that, in addition to Xu Yuehuai and Tie Xiong, there was also the so-called woodcutter cousin with them.

"Manager Xu, are we going back to Mingyue Kingdom just for sightseeing? Why did you bring along a useless woodcutter?" Zhang Ting's words were full of disdain.

Qi Guze was working on the horse when he suddenly heard this and couldn't help but frown slightly. In his impression, Zhang Ting was not that kind of person.

Xu Yuehuai glanced at Qi Guze before speaking, "He's used to chopping firewood in the mountains, so he's strong and healthy. We might encounter some ferocious beasts on our journey, so having his help will put us at ease."

Zhang Ting was still not very happy when she heard this.

"Manager Xu, I've discovered that you can be incredibly heartless at times. The prince's life is hanging in the balance, yet you still have the heart to travel to the Underworld Kingdom for sightseeing. I really don't know how he could be so blind as to fall for you." She was still making her last stand.

Xu Yuehuai couldn't help but shake his head, looked up at her, and smiled in a cryptic way: "Miss Zhang Ting, even though I have a deep friendship with the Prince, I can't let him make me lose my appetite. Besides, you came here because of the Prince, and now that the Prince is gone, I should send you back. Otherwise, the Prince will definitely blame me in the future. Tell me, when we get to Jiuquan, I'll have to give him an explanation, won't I?"

Her words were clearly implying, both overtly and covertly, that Qi Guze was already dead.

Only if Zhang Ting completely believes this will Marquis Ningyuan stop causing any more trouble.

"Is the prince really dead?" Zhang Ting asked in disbelief.

Her pupils dilated slightly, clearly showing disbelief.

Qi Guze is a man so capable that even the Marquis of Ningyuan considers him a thorn in his side. How could he possibly lose his life over a simple fire in the Ministry of Justice prison?

She didn't believe it.

Xu Yuehuai saw her serious doubts and couldn't help but say again, "His body has already been found in the palace, and even that jade pendant belonged to him. I also asked my godfather to search the entire capital, but we couldn't find any trace of him at all..."

“Miss Zhang Ting, tell me, given my relationship with the Prince, if he were truly still alive, wouldn’t he come to Tianxiang Tower?”

To convince Zhang Ting of her words, she pinched her thigh hard and squeezed out two tears.

As expected, when Zhang Ting saw those two tears, she completely dispelled her doubts: "So, you're going to the Underworld Moon Kingdom just to send me back?"

"Hmm." Xu Yuehuai raised an eyebrow.

Zhang Ting didn't get the answer she wanted. She just sighed, ate a couple of bites, and went back to the carriage.
