Chapter 1333 Mirror Opens Another World

"Let's go." Xu Yuehuai's voice echoed in the long corridor, and she strode forward.

Upon hearing this, Bai Yu didn't say anything more, but stayed close to her side, the two of them very close.

Bei Ye immediately stood on the other side of Xu Yuehuai. His steps were steady, and he exuded an undeniable composure.

The passageway twisted and turned, each bend seemingly concealing an unknown danger. The moss on the stone walls gleamed a pale green in the dim light, and an ancient, damp atmosphere permeated the air, involuntarily making one tense.

However, the three showed no fear; their heartbeats and steps were in sync as they strode together into the unknown depths.

"This passage is longer than I imagined," Bei Ye murmured.

Bai Yu kept his eyes glued to Xu Yuehuai's figure the whole time, not daring to relax for a moment.

Soon after, a glimmer of light pierced through the darkness ahead, heralding the arrival of the finish line.

As they stepped into the beam of light, a huge secret chamber came into view. The stone walls around the chamber were as smooth as mirrors, and an ancient altar stood in the center.

On the altar, the objects are arranged in a pleasing manner, and the incantations are complex and mysterious, as if they were relics left over from ancient times.

Xu Yuehuai slowly walked forward, looking directly at the core of those ancient secrets.

“This is very likely the core of the ruins,” she said calmly.

Bai Yu and Bei Ye's gazes swept across the altar, finally settling on a groove similar in shape to the Demon-Trapping Mirror. A flicker of excitement flashed in Bai Yu's eyes. He quickly took out the Demon-Trapping Mirror from his robes, his hands trembling slightly, and slowly placed it into the groove.

In an instant, the Demon-Trapping Mirror seemed to come alive, radiating a dazzling light. Under the illumination of this light, the objects and talismans in the secret chamber began to slowly rotate, emitting a deep and long rumbling sound. The entire secret chamber seemed to be awakened by this power.

"This..." Bai Yu's voice was tinged with disbelief as he stared intently at the changes on the altar.

“It seems we’ve triggered some kind of mechanism,” Xu Yuehuai said in a deep voice, as if he had grasped part of the truth.

Bei Ye, on the other hand, looked solemn and kept a close eye on the potential dangers around him.

Just then, a white light suddenly descended from the sky, and the three of them felt a blur before their eyes, as if they had traveled through a time tunnel and arrived in a completely new world.

They stood atop ancient ruins, surrounded by crumbling walls, the air thick with dust and the marks of time. In the distance, a majestic ancient building loomed, appearing both solemn and mysterious in the afterglow of the setting sun.

"Where are we?" Bei Ye asked, feeling utterly lost, as he had just regained his footing.

Xu Yuehuai looked up and around. "The Demon-Trapping Mirror not only led us to the core of the ruins, but also opened a passage to a secret realm."

"Everything here exudes antiquity and danger; everyone must not wander around carelessly," Bai Yu said.

"Now that we're here, there's no turning back." Xu Yuehuai took the first step and walked towards the ancient building.

Bai Yu and Bei Ye had no other choice but to continue following along.

Suddenly, a group of ancient people dressed in strange clothes appeared before them, chanting in broken Chinese.

The three held their breath, standing still, watching the ancient people's every move, afraid of missing any detail.

The ancient figures had solemn expressions. Their movements and incantations intertwined to create ancient and mysterious scenes. Every deep chant seemed to penetrate the barriers of time and space, touching the deepest resonance in people's hearts.

The heartbeats of Xu Yuehuai and the other two gradually synchronized with the ancient rhythm, as if they had become an indispensable part of this ceremony.

“The runes on those magical artifacts seem to have come to life!” Xu Yuehuai’s gaze was fixed on a magical artifact in the hand of an ancient person.

The magical artifact was crystal clear, with intricate and delicate runes engraved on it. With each swing of the ancient man, the runes seemed to be given life, shimmering with a faint glow.

These runes bear a striking resemblance to the inscriptions on the stone tablets and statues they found in the ruins, like fragments of an ancient language telling tales of a distant past.

“Indeed, these runes match some ancient incantations recorded in ancient books, and may also be related to the ‘Secret Canon of Medicine’.” Bai Yu also discovered this mystery. “If we can decipher these runes, we may be able to find clues to the ‘Secret Canon of Medicine’, or even directly comprehend its essence.”

As Bei Ye listened to the chanting, he could also feel a unique power. He clenched his fists, a strong desire surging within him.

As the ceremony gradually reached its climax, the ancient people's movements became increasingly excited. They swirled around the huge altar, their ritual implements colliding with each other, producing crisp and melodious sounds.

Suddenly, a crack appeared in the ground in the center of the altar, and a powerful internal force gushed out like a spring, instantly filling the entire space.

The three were startled by this sudden turn of events and retreated repeatedly, but their eyes brightened considerably in that instant, because they knew that this must be the clue they had been searching for for a long time.

“We need to get closer and see what’s hidden in that crack.” Xu Yuehuai made a quick decision and cautiously approached the altar.

Bai Yu and Bei Ye stayed close to her, remaining highly vigilant in case of any unforeseen circumstances.

When the three of them stood at the edge of the crevice, the sight before them left them in awe.

Hidden within the crack was an ancient book, its cover made of an unknown material that emitted a faint glow. The four large characters "Secret Manual of Medicine" were inscribed on it in the same ancient runes. The book seemed to possess a life of its own, swaying gently under the nourishment of internal energy, as if it had a life of its own.

"This is the legendary 'Secret Manual of Medicine'!" Xu Yuehuai's voice trembled slightly with barely suppressed excitement. She slowly reached out her hand, her fingertips trembling, longing to touch the ancient book sleeping in the ancient cracks.

However, just as her fingertips were about to lightly touch the pages of the book, a tremendous force erupted like a raging torrent, violently shaking her back and causing her to stagger.

"Watch out!" Bai Yu reacted swiftly, his figure flashing as he steadily caught Xu Yuehuai before he was about to fall. He stared at the book that emitted a faint, eerie light, his brows furrowed deeply. "This book is protected by an ancient and powerful seal. We must proceed with caution and not act rashly."

Bei Ye stood to the side, his face anxious, his eyes flashing with an extreme thirst for knowledge and a deep fear of the unknown. He asked urgently, "So, are we just going to give up like this?"

Xu Yuehuai took a deep breath, looked at the ancient figures who were meticulously performing the mysterious ritual, and said calmly, "Perhaps we can use their power to break this ancient seal."

She pointed to the ancient people immersed in the ritual and continued, "The ritual they are performing is very likely to maintain the balance and stability of this seal. If we can cleverly blend in, we might find clues to break the seal."
