Qi Guze asked the villagers who were following them in a low voice.
"Didn't this family keep these livestock before?"
The villager replied, "Yes, he was very reclusive. All his family members had died, so he didn't keep any other animals."
“He usually keeps to himself and doesn’t interact with other people in the village at all.”
"So many years have passed, and he's still the same."
"He only gathered together with everyone now that something big has happened in the village."
“In the past, people might not have seen him for a long time.”
After hearing what the villagers said, Qi Guze felt that this young man was particularly strange.
The villagers around him weren't inherently bad; they probably even wanted to help the young man. But because of his eccentric temperament, he was far removed from everyone in the village.
People got used to it and stopped paying attention to the young man.
Now that strange things are happening in the village, the young man's previous unusual behavior seems rather normal, and the villagers around him no longer suspect him.
The two villagers who were following Qi Guze and his group found it strange that they suspected this young man.
Qi Guze and the others didn't say much, but instead carefully observed the young man's family situation.
After they sneaked into the young man's yard, they thoroughly searched the area but found nothing unusual.
This young man is not only extremely fastidious about cleanliness, but he also keeps everything around him exceptionally clean and arranges all things in a very neat and orderly manner.
Just like those piles of firewood in the corner, each one has its own unique way of being arranged, making them exceptionally neat and tidy, looking like unique works of art.
They carefully inspected the area but found nothing else unusual.
Xu Yuehuai is starting to have some doubts. Could it be that they're just overthinking things because they think there's something wrong with this young man?
But this young man did behave very strangely during the day!
It was a stark contrast to the people around him; he was truly unique.
They simply couldn't believe that the young man was without fault.
Xu Yuehuai asked Qi Guze, "Have we gone in the wrong direction?"
"Maybe there's nothing wrong with his family at all, but the problem lies elsewhere."
They have now searched many places in the young man's home, even some of the empty rooms, but have not found anything unusual.
However, they didn't enter the young man's room. If they had barged in, they probably would have alerted him.
Qi Guze said, "Since we haven't found anything unusual here, let's take a closer look at the places this young man usually frequents. Maybe the unusual places are the places he usually goes."
Upon hearing this, the two villagers nearby immediately recalled the places the young man frequented.
After thinking it over carefully, they immediately came up with several places.
Then the two villagers said, "He does seem to frequently go to places with few people, such as a small hillside around here, the burial place of his deceased relatives, and a stream nearby with poisonous snakes and insects."
Upon hearing this, Qi Guze and the others quickly asked the two villagers to lead the way and take them to those places.
When they reached the hillside, they took torches and thoroughly explored the surrounding area.
Qi Guze used his internal energy to fly up to a tree and carefully surveyed the surroundings.
Xu Yuehuai stood under the tree and asked, "Aze, is there anything unusual around here?"
After carefully examining the area, Qi Guze said, "I checked the surroundings and found nothing unusual."
"This shouldn't be the place. Let's go somewhere else."
Then Qi Guze and the others had the villagers take them to the young man's ancestral graves.
Upon arriving at the ancestral graves, Qi Guze and Xu Yuehuai immediately sensed that this area was somewhat unusual.
They seemed to smell something peculiar in the surroundings, a particularly pungent odor.
The scent had dissipated considerably with the surrounding wind, but upon closer inspection, one could detect something unusual mixed within it.
"This area looks particularly strange. Could there be something else buried around here?"
Xu Yuehuai smelled something in the air that seemed to be deliberately concealing its scent.
The smell was extremely pungent, but the two villagers nearby didn't smell it.
"Could we dig up the land around this grave?"
Xu Yuehuai asked the two villagers.
The two villagers immediately retorted, "Weren't you looking for the murderer who killed those livestock? Why did you dig up A-Dong's ancestral graves?"
“This area of ancestral graves was affected by flash floods, and some of them have been displaced. We don’t know where the real graves are underground.”
"However, this whole area is the ancestral graveyard of the Dong family. If you dig up this area, you might end up digging up their graves."
"If you can't find any clues by then, how are we going to explain this to Ah Dong?"
The two villagers stopped Xu Yuehuai and his group, not wanting them to dig up A Dong's ancestral graves.
Qi Guze and Xu Yuehuai exchanged a glance but did not refute the two villagers.
Since these two villagers don't want them to do that, then they'll just have to do as they say.
Then, pretending to be very compliant, they conducted a brief investigation and left Ah Dong's ancestral graves.
They then had two villagers lead them to the stream that Adong frequented. They casually checked the stream but found no clues, so they had the two villagers take them back.
The two villagers, seeing their confusion, took them out for a walk in the middle of the night, but they found nothing and went back, both feeling rather down.
After escorting Qi Guze and the other person back to the courtyard, they immediately left.
However, after these villagers left, other villagers continued to guard the courtyard where Qi Guze and his group were, preventing them from leaving easily.
However, Qi Guze was skilled in light-footed kung fu, so even with so many villagers guarding him, it was no problem for him at all.
