"What's going on? Why isn't there any reaction?" one of the guards asked in confusion.
"Perhaps this door requires a specific method to open," Xu Yuehuai pondered.
She examined the runes and patterns on the portal more closely, trying to find a way to open it. Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind, and she seemed to have come up with something.
"I understand!" Xu Yuehuai suddenly exclaimed excitedly, her eyes sparkling as if she had already grasped the secret of everything before her. All eyes immediately turned to her, anticipating her explanation.
“These runes are actually an ancient incantation,” Xu Yuehuai explained rapidly, pointing to the complex symbols on the portal. “We need to arrange the incantation in a specific order to open this door.”
Qi Guze frowned, carefully examining the runes, trying to understand their mysteries. He turned to Xu Yuehuai, a hint of admiration flashing in his eyes: "Yuehuai, do you really understand these incantations?"
Xu Yuehua nodded, a confident smile on her face: "I once saw similar runes in an ancient book. Although they are somewhat different, the basic principle should be the same."
Everyone was delighted to hear this and crowded around. Under Xu Yuehuai's guidance, they carefully moved the runes, afraid of making a single mistake.
As the incantation was recited, the runes on the portal began to flash, emitting a dazzling light. Everyone held their breath, anxiously awaiting the portal's opening.
With a loud bang, the door slowly opened, revealing a deep and mysterious space. A chilling wind blew out from inside, causing everyone to shiver.
"We've arrived!" Xu Yuehuai shouted excitedly, stepping through the doorway first. The others followed closely behind, cautiously entering this unknown world.
A group of thugs were gathered deep within the secret room, plotting some conspiracy. When they saw Xu Yuehuai and his group suddenly burst in, their faces showed expressions of terror.
"Who are you? How dare you trespass on our territory!" A burly gang leader stood up and glared at Xu Yuehuai and his group.
Xu Yuehuai glanced at him coldly and said disdainfully, "We're here to eliminate you villains! The bad things you've done should have been punished long ago!"
Enraged by this, the gang leader brandished his broadsword and charged at Xu Yuehuai. Xu Yuehuai dodged the attack with ease.
"Everyone, attack together and drive these uninvited bastards away!" the gang leader roared.
Instantly, shouts of battle erupted from the secret chamber. The guards rushed forward and engaged the villains in fierce combat. The chamber was filled once more with the sounds of intense fighting and screams, as if it were a life-or-death struggle.
Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze headed straight for the leaders of the thugs, intending to subdue them in one fell swoop. They were agile and swift, quickly cornering the leaders.
"You villains, today is your end!" Xu Yuehua shouted, thrusting his sword into the chest of one of the leaders.
The leader's eyes widened in terror, but it was too late to dodge. Xu Yuehuai's sword pierced his chest accurately, and blood gushed out.
Upon seeing this, the other leaders all showed expressions of fear. They knew that they had encountered a formidable enemy today, and escape would likely be difficult.
After a fierce battle, the villains were finally wiped out. Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze stood in the secret chamber, looking at the fallen corpses, their hearts filled with emotion.
"Fortunately, we succeeded, otherwise we don't know how these people would have harmed those innocent people." Xu Yuehuai sighed softly, her voice revealing a sense of exhaustion and relief.
Qi Guze slowly walked to Xu Yuehuai's side, gently patted her shoulder, his eyes full of praise: "Ayue, you did a great job. Your wisdom and courage were indispensable in successfully eliminating these villains this time."
Xu Yuehuai smiled slightly and gently shook her head: "No, this is the result of our joint efforts. Without your assistance and support, I would not have been able to succeed on my own."
Qi Guze secretly sighed inwardly. If it weren't for Xu Yuehuai, he might have already handed the matter over to someone else. But he didn't express his gratitude verbally; he simply gazed at Xu Yuehuai silently, his heart filled with respect.
The two men exchanged a smile, a resolute glint in their eyes. They knew that while the evil forces had been temporarily defeated, they were not truly gone. They had to remain vigilant to prevent the villains from making a comeback.
Xu Yuehuai said softly, "We can go back to that village now."
Qi Guze nodded in agreement, then led his guards back to the village to deliver the news of the victory to the villagers.
The news spread, and the entire village was in an uproar. Villagers flocked to the streets, laughing, singing, and dancing. They raised their glasses, drinking the fine wine, cheering and applauding Xu Yuehuai and his guards for their heroic deeds.
Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze stood on high ground, overlooking this land filled with joy, their hearts filled with pride and satisfaction.
As night fell, the celebrations gradually came to a close. Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze led their guards back to their residence.
They saw Feng Wuhen sitting at the stone table in the courtyard, looking at them with a resentful expression. He complained, "You didn't take me with you again this time," his tone tinged with dissatisfaction and disappointment.
Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze exchanged a glance, their faces showing remorse. They knew that Feng Wuhen had longed to participate in this operation, but his injuries had not yet healed, so they had to leave him in the village. Xu Yuehuai gently comforted him, "I was afraid you would get hurt again, so I didn't let you go." Her words were full of concern and apology.
She walked over to Feng Wuhen and gently patted his shoulder: "We know you really want to join us, but your injuries still need rest. Once you're better, we'll definitely take you with us."
Upon hearing this, Feng Wuhen's resentful expression softened slightly. He nodded, indicating his understanding: "I know you mean well, and I will take good care of myself. Once I recover, I will definitely protect our homeland with you!"
Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze exchanged a smile. They knew that every member of this team was indispensable. They would continue to work hand in hand to safeguard the peace and tranquility of this land.
In the days that followed, life in the village gradually returned to peace and harmony.
Sunlight shines on every green leaf, and a gentle breeze blows across the rice paddies, bringing with it the faint fragrance of rice.
The villagers were busy in the fields, their laughter echoing throughout, as if the whole world was enveloped in this warm atmosphere.
The young villagers gathered in the open space at the village entrance, diligently practicing martial arts under the guidance of Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze.
