Xu Yuehuai nodded perfunctorily in response to Yuan Shui's words. No one knew whether she had truly taken them to heart. Yuan Shui watched her intently from the side, and as the sky began to lighten with the first hint of dawn, Xu Yuehuai still showed no sign of moving. Finally, he started to get anxious. "Hey! Get up! Don't lie there anymore. If you keep lying down, I really don't know what to do!"
Xu Yuehuai was abruptly pulled out of bed by Yuan Shui. She glanced helplessly at the anxious Yuan Shui, but finally got up. She stood there, closed her eyes, and her mind was filled with the last moments she had seen Brother Pu, Second Brother Pu, and Grandpa Pu. She frowned, trying to suppress these emotions for the time being.
But the more she did this, the faster these emotions surfaced, endlessly and relentlessly, becoming incredibly irritating. Yuan Shui watched her with worry in her eyes, not this time concerned about whether she could return, but rather whether Xu Yuehuai would go mad because of this, given that her current state was truly appalling.
Xu Yuehuai struggled with herself, and slowly, she realized that everything was her fault. Why was the Pu family being targeted? If it weren't for Ji Yuanchi's death, and Pu Erge and the others returning to the third floor, giving up their promising future on the second floor, none of this would have happened.
Everyone assumed they were sent back, which is why they were looked down upon and why things turned out this way.
Seeing that Xu Yuehuai was not in a good state, Yuan Shui reached out and shook her. When she did not wake up, Yuan Shui panicked. "Wake up! Stop thinking about those things! Don't let your nightmare hold you back! Those things are not your fault. Everyone has their own destiny. They made their own decisions, and it has nothing to do with you! You don't need to blame yourself."
Xu Yuehuai felt as if she had fallen into a void, with nothing around her. This was very similar to when she first met Zisangyi, except that the fog here was thicker. She had never before discovered that such a thing existed in her sea of consciousness.
She cautiously surveyed her surroundings, trying to find some clues. She was puzzled; shouldn't she be outside casting spells at this time? Why had she entered this place?
She looked around warily, but found nothing. Just as she was about to meditate and leave, several figures suddenly floated through the air. She summoned her silver sword and watched the shadowy figures flashing before her with suspicion. "Who is it?"
The shadowy figure didn't respond to her, but instead silently stabbed her when she wasn't paying attention. Before Xu Yuehuai noticed, she suddenly felt something unusual behind her. When she turned around, she saw that the shadowy figure was flying behind her, and there was a bloody mark on her arm. She covered her bleeding hand, her eyes filled with confusion.
Yuan Shui, who was outside, was startled when he saw the bloodstains that suddenly appeared on Xu Yuehuai's arm. His eyes widened as he looked around, but there was no unusual fluctuation. This meant that the fluctuation came from Xu Yuehuai herself. Yuan Shui turned his gaze back to Xu Yuehuai in front of him, curious to know what had happened to her to cause this. However, no one had answered him yet.
Xu Yuehuai became increasingly vigilant. When a dark figure approached her, she instinctively raised her sword to block the attack. However, the next second, what was originally just a dark shadow suddenly transformed into Pu Erge's face. Her sword moved a fraction of a second slower, allowing the ghostly thing to add another wound to her body.
And so it went. Every time Xu Yuehuai was about to raise her hand to hurt someone, the faces of the Pu family would appear in front of her. There were Ji Yuanchi's, Grandpa Pu's, and Pu's eldest brother and second brother. They were all people who had died. She was shocked and confused. In order to avoid being hurt, she could only resist these things and not let them have a chance to hurt her.
Yuan Shui could do nothing but worry from the outside. He wandered around for a bit, then pulled Xu Yuehuai's arm and sat down on the edge of the bed.
Yuan Shui was protecting Xu Yuehuai from the side. He was so surprised that he didn't realize what had happened before things turned out this way, and Xu Yuehuai's injuries were getting worse.
Half an hour later, she finally opened her eyes. A powerful surge of spiritual energy erupted around her, and then a void gate appeared in front of her.
Yuan Shui looked at Xu Yuehuai with a hint of astonishment in her eyes. She stood up from the bed, looked at the entrance in front of her, and stepped inside. Yuan Shui returned to the space, but she was still a little confused. She looked at Bai Ze beside her and asked, "What just happened? Did you see it? Why did such a strong spiritual energy wave suddenly erupt? Why did a void gate appear immediately after the spiritual energy wave erupted?"
"What has Xu Yuehuai just been through?" Yuan Shui asked, voicing her questions that had been troubling her for a long time.
Bai Ze was also unsure. She shook her head and said, "I don't know. I was trapped here and couldn't get out. I have no idea what happened."
The two looked bewildered, while Xu Yuehuai, who was walking in the void, felt a tremor in her heart at what had just happened. At first, she was constantly being attacked. Even though she knew that these shadowy figures were doing it on purpose, she still wanted to know why it had turned out this way, and why these shadowy figures had their faces.
That's why she suffered so many injuries.
This is Xu Yuehuai's sea of consciousness. When she casts a spell, she has to mobilize all her mental energy, and mental energy exists in her sea of consciousness, which is why she was sucked in by a suction force.
The person in the sea of consciousness was Xu Yuehuai's inner demon, but Ji Yuanchi was not. Ji Yuanchi sensed the fluctuation of Xu Yuehuai's spiritual power on the Pu family members, so she wanted to come out and find out what had happened.
She saw Xu Yuehuai as soon as she came out and noticed that Xu Yuehuai's Dao heart was unstable. When she saw that the dark figures were actually members of the Pu family, she was shocked. She did not expect that it was her family members who were causing Xu Yuehuai's Dao heart to be unstable. She stepped forward and joined the fight. However, since the others were still there, she could not speak and could only let Xu Yuehuai keep attacking her.
Once there's a first attack, there will be a second. Gradually, she'll realize that these people in front of her aren't real, they're not the real them at all, and there's nothing to worry about. Just go ahead and attack.
