Immediately afterwards, a group of people rushed towards the woman in white, who stared at everything in bewilderment.
The group took her back and explained to her where she was. "Every ten years, one person enters this place. We searched for you for several days and couldn't find you. We thought you were dead."
"By the way, what's your name?" The woman warmly led the woman to the relief center. "You can just call me Aunt Pu."
The woman looked around and noticed that the woman in front of her was dressed very well. Although it wasn't the finest silk clothing, it was much better than what most women wore in coarse linen. "My name is Xu Yuehuai."
Xu Yuehuai didn't remember what exactly happened. Her last memory was of the moment she fought bravely and successfully defeated all the aliens, and then she saw Qi Guze. After that, she opened her eyes to find herself by a stream.
She thought she had traveled through time again, but it seemed that she hadn't.
But she had never known that such a place existed on this continent. Xu Yuehuai was puzzled and naturally asked, "Where is this place? Which of the four kingdoms does it belong to?"
Aunt Pu seemed not to have heard such words in a long time, and smiled, "This place doesn't belong to any part of the four countries."
Xu Yuehuai didn't understand, "Then do you also cultivate supernatural power?"
"Ghost Power? Ten years have passed. Do people outside still call spiritual power 'Ghost Power'? That's quite a novelty." Aunt Pu chuckled, her eyes burning with excitement, as if she had discovered something interesting.
Xu Yuehuai didn't say anything more. After she walked out onto the street, she found that it was no different from the outside world, but she could feel that the aura of magical power... no, the aura of spiritual power was even stronger in the air.
Thinking back to the fantasy novels she had read before, could it be that there really are people and places in this world who cultivate immortality? With this question in mind, Xu Yuehuai settled down here.
She decided to put aside thoughts of Qi Guze for the time being. She had done everything she could in her lifetime, and the rest was no longer her concern.
We've all died once, so now we should enjoy the world to the fullest.
After chatting with Xu Yuehuai for a while, Aunt Pu became very curious about the outside world and took her directly to her own house, settling Xu Yuehuai in the remaining rooms of the house.
“The house is only so big. If you want to stay in a nicer place, you can leave now. I won’t force you. You can find a place to stay and food on your own.” Aunt Pu had obviously been busy for a while when she heard the news that she had come to this place and went to the stream.
After returning, Aunt Pu continued to busy herself with the medicinal herbs.
Xu Yuehuai walked around the house. It was very simple. There were only three living rooms, a guest room, and a woodshed in the small house. The rooms were arranged in a circle, forming an open space in the middle. Aunt Pu usually used some racks to dry some medicinal herbs and food.
"I kept you at home because I felt that I had lived for so many years and it was really boring. I wanted to experience some things outside." Aunt Pu said to Xu Yuehuai beside her while she was busy. "You don't need to do any of these things at home. Just tell me what it's like outside."
Xu Yuehuai walked over to Aunt Pu and helped carry the things into the woodshed. "Then why don't you go out and see for yourself? Listening to what others say is so boring. It's much more interesting to go out and see for yourself."
Aunt Pu seemed to have heard something funny, and her gaze towards Xu Yuehuai changed. "No one has ever left this place. They can't leave, and no one wants to leave."
"Why?" Xu Yuehuai asked.
“Here, strength is everything. There’s no such thing as the powerful oppressing others. As long as you have the strength, you’re in charge. Everyone respects the strong. But what about outside? If you were just an ordinary person, wouldn’t you be the one being suppressed and beaten by those high-ranking officials and nobles? No matter how hard you try, in the end, someone less capable than you but born into royalty can end your life with just a word.” Aunt Pu seemed to have thought of something, paused, and looked at Xu Yuehuai.
"It's alright, you'll love this place soon." Aunt Pu said, continuing her work and ignoring Xu Yuehuai behind her. "If you have nothing to do, go out and explore. It's good to see more of the world."
Xu Yuehuai thought for a moment and decided to go out and take a look. On the way here, she hadn't had a chance to properly observe how the rules of this world differed from those outside.
Also, she wanted to know why she was there.
Once outside, the streets were bustling with people, and vendors were calling out their wares in lively chatter.
She walked up to a vendor and said, "Little girl, what would you like? These things are very cheap; you can buy them with just a little spiritual energy."
"I dare say, there's no vendor around here more conscientious than me!" The owner was a middle-aged man with dark yellow skin, clearly someone who was exposed to the sun all year round. The items on his stall were mostly medicinal herbs and the like.
It looks much better than the herbs that Aunt Pu is drying.
"How will I give you the spiritual energy?" Xu Yuehuai spread out her hands, wanting to know exactly how the spiritual energy was given away.
The boss, seeing that the woman in front of him didn't even know what spiritual power was, immediately became interested. "You...you look unfamiliar. Are you new here?"
“Yes, I think your things are quite good. How can I give you this spiritual energy value?” Xu Yuehuai didn’t hide anything and readily admitted it.
"That's easy!" The shopkeeper pointed to a smooth, glass-like object on the table. "Just channel some spiritual energy into it, and I'll fill it up." A smirk spread across the shopkeeper's face, his eyes filled with ill intent.
Xu Yuehuai immediately sensed something was amiss. This ball looked unusual, and filling it completely would probably be no easy task.
Just then, a man passing by heard the conversation and came over. He scanned back and forth between the vendor and Xu Yuehuai, finally fixing his gaze on Xu Yuehuai. "Don't listen to his nonsense. He's trying to drain your spiritual energy."
"You're new here, aren't you? I've never seen you before. Why don't you go to the relief center? Didn't anyone tell you?" The man was also dressed in white, with an elegant demeanor, and he was holding a fan in his hand.
Xu Yuehuai could tell at a glance that the fan was no ordinary object.
"I'm temporarily staying at a woman's house." Xu Yuehuai could tell that the person in front of her meant no harm, so she was interested in explaining a few more words.
"Then how do I give this spiritual power?" Xu Yuehuai looked at the boss and the ball again.
