Another tiger pounced. Xu Yuehuai's eyes sharpened, and the dagger in her hand drew a perfect arc, accurately piercing the tiger's eye.
The tiger let out a piercing scream and collapsed to the ground. Xu Yuehuai remained vigilant; she knew that more tigers were waiting for their chance.
She swiftly drew her dagger, preparing for the next attack. Qi Guze, perched on Xu Yuehuai's back, witnessed everything.
His heart was deeply moved. He had never seen such a brave woman; every movement she made was full of strength and determination. He wanted to share some of her burdens, even if it was just a little.
"Yuehuai, I..." Qi Guze's voice trembled slightly, and tears welled up in his eyes.
Just then, a gust of wind howled past, and a tiger descended from the sky, pouncing straight at Xu Yuehuai. A flicker of fear flashed in her eyes, but it was quickly replaced by determination.
She gripped the dagger tightly, preparing for the final battle. However, at this critical moment, Qi Guze suddenly struggled to his feet.
He clenched his fists and swung them at the tiger with all his might. The tiger was knocked back a few steps, revealing an opening.
Xu Yuehua seized the opportunity and plunged the dagger in her hand into the tiger's heart. The tiger let out a shrill scream and collapsed to the ground.
Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze, panting heavily, exchanged a glance and smiled with relief. They knew that this illusion could no longer hold them captive.
"That's wonderful! We've finally broken this illusion!" Xu Yuehuai said with a smile.
As the illusions around them shattered, all they could see were some poisonous plants that had been burned and turned black.
Everything that just happened was a figment of those poisonous plants!
"Yes! We have to thank you so much!" Qi Guze looked at Xu Yuehuai with affection. "You've worked so hard!"
"I'm fine. I should thank you properly for clearing the toxins from my body, otherwise you wouldn't be in this state."
Xu Yuehuai felt incredibly moved whenever she thought about everything he had done for her.
"You are my wife, of course I have to protect you well." Qi Guze rubbed her head.
"Let's hurry up and find another place to stay! Maybe there are houses over there!"
Xu Yuehuai blushed and lowered her head, then hurried forward. Qi Guze smiled faintly and hummed in agreement, but he suddenly fainted again on the way.
When she discovered this situation, she was extremely worried, and her pace immediately quickened considerably.
As time passed, the moonlight gradually brightened. Xu Yuehuai finally saw the path, and at the end, the faint lights of houses could be seen.
At the foot of a desolate mountain, a dilapidated little thatched hut stands forlornly in the wind.
A warm feeling welled up in her heart, and tears streamed down her face again. Finally, she arrived at the door of that house and Xu Yuehuai knocked loudly on the door.
Suddenly, the silence was broken by light footsteps. A young man with flowing white hair appeared at the door of the thatched hut. The door opened, and the white-haired young man peeked out. Seeing Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze, he immediately let them in.
Xu Yuehuai anxiously waited inside the room, her eyes fixed on Qi Guze lying on the simple wooden bed.
Qi Guze's face was pale, his eyes tightly closed, as if he were isolated from the world. Xu Yuehuai felt a mix of emotions, her eyes reddening, but she forced back her tears.
The white-haired youth's eyes were deep and bright, as if he could see through everything in the world. He slowly walked into the house, his gaze shifting between Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze before settling on Qi Guze.
Seeing a glimmer of hope, Xu Yuehuai rushed forward and pleaded, "Please, save him! He's been poisoned and is unconscious."
The white-haired youth frowned slightly and asked in a cold tone, "Why should I save him?"
Xu Yuehuai was stunned, not expecting him to ask such a question. She composed herself and tried to appear resolute: "If you save him, I'm willing to pay any price."
The white-haired youth smirked coldly: "Any price?" He glanced around, his gaze finally settling on Xu Yuehuai. "The environment here is so harsh, what will you offer to repay me?"
Xu Yuehuai's heart tightened; she knew this mysterious young man was testing her. She took a deep breath, her mind made up: "If I ever have money in the future, I will give you a lot and provide you with everything you need."
The white-haired youth shook his head, seemingly uninterested in the silver.
A sly glint flashed in his eyes: "I don't want gold or silver treasures, I just want you to stay here and stay with me for three years."
Xu Yuehuai's heart sank. She looked at Qi Guze's unconscious state, then at the mysterious white-haired youth in front of her, and nodded helplessly: "Okay, I promise you."
As Xu Yuehuai agreed, a hint of satisfaction flashed in the white-haired youth's eyes. He took out a pill from his pocket and gently placed it in Qi Guze's mouth.
The pill seemed to carry the power of life, slowly flowing into Qi Guze's throat and seeping into his body.
Xu Yuehuai stared nervously at Qi Guze, silently praying. Time seemed to slow down, each second filled with anticipation and anxiety.
Finally, Qi Guze's eyelids twitched slightly, and then he slowly opened his eyes.
Xu Yuehuai was so excited that tears welled up in her eyes, and she hugged Qi Guze tightly: "You're finally awake!"
Qi Guze looked at Xu Yuehuai and the white-haired youth, somewhat bewildered: "How did I get here? Did you save me?" he asked, pointing at the white-haired youth.
Xu Yuehua nodded: "Thanks to this white-haired young man for saving you."
She turned to the white-haired young man and said, "Thank you."
The white-haired youth waved his hand and said, "No need to thank me. It's enough that you've stayed here with me for three years."
His tone remained indifferent, but it revealed a subtle hint of gentleness.
And so, Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze began their three-year companionship with the mysterious white-haired youth in this desolate little thatched hut.
Xu Yuehuai followed the white-haired youth every day, obeying his orders to collect various rare herbs.
This white-haired young man was well-versed in medicine. He carefully prepared a medicinal bath for Qi Guze to help remove the remaining toxins from his body.
Qi Guze initially didn't have high hopes for the medicinal bath, but as time went on, he found that his previously incurable internal injuries were showing signs of improvement.
This shocked him greatly! He couldn't believe it!
That night, the moonlight bathed the earth. Qi Guze and Xu Yuehuai sat in the courtyard, a gentle breeze carrying the faint fragrance of flowers.
Qi Guze was deeply moved and told Xu Yuehuai that his internal injuries were about to heal. Xu Yuehuai was overjoyed and knew that this news was of great significance to Qi Guze.
