Sect Leader Zhan choked, still a little unaccustomed to Zi Sangyi's attitude. He turned his head strangely to look at him, his brows furrowed, his eyes filled with oddity, as if he were looking at a monster. "You must have been provoked to say something like that."
"Hey, Sect Leader Zhan, you're mistaken. Qingtao Valley has already voluntarily given us their spot, so why are you complaining about them? Isn't that a bit unfair?" Sect Leader Yan hadn't said much until now, as most of his disciples were at the back and he couldn't speak. His face turned pale and then red. Now that he finally saw some hope, he finally found an opportunity to make a sarcastic remark.
These words, thrown at Zi Sangyi now, had no effect whatsoever. He genuinely wanted to see what expressions these people would have after learning the truth. He didn't think it was excessive or unethical of him not to tell them the truth now.
In this dog-eat-dog world, the weak face a much greater challenge to survive than the strong. Since they make choices, they must pay a price. They should have considered the consequences of their actions and words before making such statements.
Zi Sangyi didn't reveal the truth. First, he worried that if everyone asked him how he knew the information, Xu Yuehuai, the only suspect, would become the target of public criticism. To ensure Xu Yuehuai's safety, he couldn't say it. Second, even if he did reveal it now, it would only anger the person behind it, and might even lead them to order the deaths of all the disciples in the secret realm.
This would be a losing proposition. After all, they didn't know the true strength of their opponent, and acting rashly would only alert them. All Zisangyi could do was to be vigilant and keep track of the number of his disciples eliminated in the secret realm. At this moment, he desperately wished that his disciples wouldn't hold on and would all come out.
It's unclear whether the disciples and sect leader were on the same wavelength, but they all came out one by one. Or perhaps there was some team targeting Qingtao Valley, which is why none of the Qingtao Valley disciples passed the second round and were eliminated.
When they saw that apart from Xuan Chi and a few other people whose names they recognized, everyone else had been eliminated, they realized that this place was cruel. Many people tried desperately to get in, but to no avail; they could only watch others go.
The eliminated Qingtao Valley disciples had no idea what their sect leader was thinking. They all felt ashamed and couldn't face anyone. They walked with their heads down. With Qingtao Valley having the highest number of eliminations, the other disciples wanted to kick them while they were down.
"It seems you disciples aren't all that great. I knew the disciple who was ranked last before couldn't amount to much. Now it seems you're nothing special, not even as good as us. The reputation of Qingtao Valley was built by your senior sister. What are the rest of you?"
"Xu Yuehuai is truly wasting her talents in Qingtao Valley. She should come to my Wanzhang Sect. With so many talented people in my Wanzhang Sect, she can definitely grow much better! Look at you all, so underdeveloped. If I didn't know better, I would think that Qingtao Valley is starving!"
"You've gone a bit too far. Isn't it my freedom to do what I want? Besides, what does our failure have to do with my senior sister? No matter what, she's still a member of Qingtao Valley. Don't even think about showing her any disrespect." Many disciples of Qingtao Valley have said they're weak along the way, but they haven't paid any attention to it. The main thing is, they can say whatever they want, but they can't say anything about Xu Yuehuai.
This commotion left everyone speechless. It wasn't because they thought the people from Qingtao Valley were particularly powerful; they were simply giving Xu Yuehuai face and not continuing the conversation.
Xu Yuehuai had already considered this situation. She had thought about what would happen after Qingqingtao Valley eliminated so many people. Her eyes were fixed on the direction the disciples left in. As long as she didn't clash with those people at this time and got through this period safely, there would be nothing to worry about.
Inside the secret realm, Ji Yaocen looked around, trying to find Ming Qing, but everyone was gathered together and she couldn't tell who was who. She could only grit her teeth and keep walking forward, her head down and her face showing some other expressions.
Ji Yaocen walked with the others when Zhan Qi suddenly spotted her in the crowd. He walked up to her and said with a malicious smile, "Oh, isn't this Second Senior Sister Ji Yaocen? Why didn't the others take you with them when they left? You're all alone here. Could it be that you and the others have some kind of disagreement?"
Zhan Qi spoke in a sarcastic tone, his face filled with smugness and arrogance, and he looked at her with disdain as he spoke.
Ji Yaocen's face showed no particular expression. She glanced at him, then turned her head away and said, "Don't bark like a dog in front of me."
Zhan Qi's smile froze instantly. He had become so smug that he had forgotten his own status and position, and he started to mock everyone. This was the first person to dare to defy him after he lost his temper.
He gritted his teeth, his face filled with mockery and incomprehension. He tapped the air twice with one hand and sneered, "Well, so smug, huh? You'd better watch out on your journey, or I'm worried your life will be in danger."
Ji Yaocen wasn't one to swallow her anger. She grabbed Zhan Qi's hand, which was pointing at her, her face contorted with displeasure, and the next second she snapped it. Zhan Qi had initially intended to make a few crude remarks, but after his arm was broken, only fear and pain remained on his face. Clutching his arm, bent over, he cried, "You! Do you know what you're doing?!"
Zhan Qi's eyes were filled with anger as he looked at Ji Yaocen. Ji Yaocen, on the other hand, appeared much calmer. She looked at Zhan Qi with a nonchalant gaze and said, "I hate it when people point fingers at me. Since you've made a mistake, it's my responsibility to help you correct it."
Ji Yaocen spoke with a relaxed expression, as if she was not surprised at all that Zhan Qi's hand had been broken. After recovering, Zhan Qi attacked Ji Yaocen, his eyes filled with malice. "Today, here, is your death day. You dared to lay a hand on me. There is only one outcome for you, and that is that you will suffer the consequences!"
Ji Yaocen glanced at him indifferently, her eyes filled with disdain and coldness, and quickly blocked his attack as he approached.
