"Ah Qi, have you forgotten your dream? You once said you would protect the Great Zhou Kingdom, so why are you doing this now?" Xu Yuehuai asked loudly.
Ah Qi's body trembled slightly, as if touched by her words.
“The Great Zhou Kingdom is no longer the Great Zhou Kingdom it once was, and I am no longer the true crown prince of the Great Zhou Kingdom. None of this has anything to do with me.” A Qi’s voice was choked with emotion. “I didn’t want to come to this, but now I have no way out.”
Xu Yuehuai took a deep breath. "I know what you're thinking, but if you're willing to give up resisting, there might still be room for maneuver."
Ah Qi remained silent for a moment, seemingly deep in thought. Suddenly, the carriage jolted violently, as if it had struck something.
Xu Yuehuai looked outside and saw that the leader of the men in black had fallen to the ground.
"It's Pei Xuan!" Xu Yuehuai was overjoyed, knowing that they might be able to escape.
Sure enough, as the men in black fell one by one, the carriage finally shook off its pursuers.
Xu Yuehuai turned to look at Aqi and found him silently bowing his head, seemingly contemplating his future.
“Ah Qi, you’re a smart person. You should know what you should do next,” Xu Yuehuai said slowly. “I hope you can think carefully about your future and not do anything foolish again.”
Ah Qi didn't speak, but the murderous intent in his eyes had vanished. He sat there silently, seemingly lost in thought. The carriage slowly drove into the distance, disappearing into the horizon.
Pei Xuan chased after the carriage, a strange sense of urgency welling up inside him. He had to catch up with Xu Yuehuai and A Qi, no matter the cost.
Finally, in a desolate wilderness, he caught up with the carriage. "Stop!" Pei Xuan shouted, his hands gripping the carriage door, panting heavily.
Ah Qi sat at the front of the carriage, turned around expressionlessly, gripped the dagger tightly in his hand, and immediately pressed it against Xu Yuehuai's neck, who was sitting next to him. Xu Yuehuai's eyes were calm as still water.
"What do you want to do?" Ah Qi asked coldly.
Pei Xuan took a deep breath, trying to calm his inner turmoil. "I want you to stop. I have something to say."
Ah Qi's lips curled up slightly, revealing a mocking smile. "Say what you have to say, and then leave."
Pei Xuan's heart tightened as he looked at the dagger in A Qi's hand.
He knew this man was no pushover, but he still forced himself to speak, "I want you to stop and let Xu Yuehuai leave safely."
Ah Qi burst into loud laughter, a hint of madness in it. "Who do you think you are? To order me around?"
Xu Yuehuai spoke calmly, "Pei Xuan, you should go back. I'll be fine."
Pei Xuan was shocked. Looking into Xu Yuehuai's eyes, he knew that she had already prepared for the worst.
A bitter feeling welled up inside him, but he still shook his head firmly. "I promised my master I would protect you. I can't let you be in any danger."
Xu Yuehuai smiled gently, "Go back and tell Aze that I will be back in a while. Tell him not to worry."
Ah Qi glared at Xu Yuehuai, tightening his grip on the dagger in his hand.
Pei Xuan took a deep breath. He knew the situation was tense and that a single misstep could lead to unpredictable consequences.
"Fine," Pei Xuan said through gritted teeth, "I promise you I'll go back."
He glared at Ah Qi, "But I need you to promise that you won't do anything to harm the lady."
Aqi looked at him, a complex emotion flashing in her eyes, "Don't worry, Sister Yuehuai was my savior before, I won't do anything to her."
Pei Xuan was silent for a moment, then finally nodded. "I'll trust you this once." After saying that, he turned around and slowly walked away.
His figure looked particularly lonely in the setting sun. Xu Yuehuai looked at his back, her heart filled with conflict. She knew Pei Xuan had gone to great lengths to catch up, but she also understood her own situation.
She couldn't let Ah Qi leave like this! She had to do something!
The carriage slowly started moving, and Ah Qi drove it towards the Kingdom of Dark Moon. Night fell, and the wind in the wilderness became somewhat chilly.
Xu Yuehuai leaned against the carriage, gazing at the starry sky with a dreamy look in her eyes. She didn't know what fate awaited her, but she knew she had to keep moving forward.
In the stillness of the night, Ah Qi drove the carriage, the sound of it cutting through the air particularly jarring. In the deep silence, only the monotonous yet powerful sound of the carriage wheels rolling on the ground broke the stillness of the night.
However, the silence was suddenly shattered by a violent cough. Ah Qi's body trembled violently as he gripped the carriage reins tightly, as if trying his best to suppress the pain in his body.
He used too much force, twisting and deforming the reins in his hands. Amidst coughing, he suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood, the crimson blood standing out starkly in the moonlight.
However, Ah Qi did not seem to stop. He simply wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and continued driving the carriage forward.
Inside the carriage, Xu Yuehuai was startled awake by the sudden noise. He rubbed his sleepy eyes and asked in confusion, "Aqi, what's wrong?"
However, Ah Qi did not answer him, but silently continued driving the carriage.
Xu Yuehuai frowned. She smelled a faint scent of blood, which made her somewhat worried. But Aqi said nothing, and Xu Yuehuai didn't react either, continuing to rest inside the carriage.
However, the carriage suddenly lurched violently and then crashed heavily into a tree in front of it.
Xu Yuehuai was so shocked that she almost fell over. She quickly steadied herself and stepped out of the carriage.
She was stunned. She saw that Ah Qi was unconscious and collapsed on the ground next to the carriage.
Xu Yuehuai chuckled softly, then squatted down, picked up Aqi, and placed him inside the carriage.
Next, she untied the horse from the carriage and tied it to a tree. Then, she began to examine Ah Qi's wounds.
Xu Yuehua carefully examined Aqi's wounds and found multiple sword wounds on his body, some of which had already begun to fester. Her heart tightened, knowing that Aqi's condition was extremely bad.
If left untreated, he could very well die from an infected wound. Xu Yuehuai quickly took out some wound medicine and gauze from her bag and wrapped Aqi's wound with the gauze to prevent the infection from worsening.
After doing all this, she breathed a sigh of relief. She knew that the most important thing now was to find a safe place as soon as possible so that Ah Qi could receive better treatment.
The carriage slowly drove away from the accident scene and headed forward. Xu Yuehuai sat inside the carriage, occasionally observing Aqi's condition.
His face was pale, and his breathing was weak, but at least he was out of immediate danger. Xu Yuehuai knew that the journey ahead would be extremely difficult.
