Chapter 1165 The Mysterious Ghost Market

Xu Yuehua nodded: "That's right, this is the Ghost Market."

Qi Zixin looked around curiously and asked, "So this is the Ghost Market! Mother, what are we doing here?"

Xu Yuehuai said with a smile, "I came to find something."

She didn't say much, and the children didn't ask any more questions.

Qi Guze led Qi Zixin, while Xu Yuehuai led Qi Ziang and Tie Chunsheng, and they walked forward together.

They moved through the crowd, sometimes stopping to look at the items on the stalls, sometimes haggling with the stall owners.

Qi Zixin was attracted by the toys at a small stall. She took Xu Yuehuai's hand and said, "Mommy, look how cute that toy is!"

Xu Yuehuai looked at it and smiled, "Then buy it if you like it."

Qi Zixin happily picked up the toy and asked the stall owner about the price.

The stall owner was a middle-aged woman. She glanced at Xu Yuehuai and her group, a strange look flashing in her eyes, but she still said politely, "Young lady, you have good taste. This toy is the best I have here. How about this, I'll give you a discount."

Qi Zixin happily paid and skipped ahead with the toy in her hand. Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze continued searching for what they needed.

They arrived at a stall selling medicinal herbs. Xu Yuehuai carefully examined the herbs on the stall, occasionally exchanging a few words with the stall owner. Qi Guze, on the other hand, vigilantly observed the surrounding situation.

Suddenly, a deep voice sounded in my ear: "Mrs. Xu, it's been a long time."

Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze were both startled and looked up to see a tall, stern-faced man standing not far away, staring coldly at them.

Xu Yuehuai's heart tightened, but she remained calm on the surface and said with a smile, "So it's Lord Li. What a coincidence."

The man addressed as Lord Li walked up to them, his gaze sweeping over Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guzhe as if searching for something. He said coldly, "Madam Xu, what are you doing here? As far as I know, this is not a peaceful place."

Xu Yuehuai's heart tightened, but she remained calm on the surface. She smiled and said, "Lord Li is joking. We just brought the children to see this legendary ghost market."

Lord Li snorted coldly, seemingly not believing her words. He turned his gaze to Qi Zi'ang and Qi Zixin, a strange light flashing in his eyes. He suddenly reached out and grabbed Qi Zi'ang, saying, "This child looks somewhat familiar to me."

Qi Guze reacted quickly, grabbing Lord Li's wrist and saying coldly, "Lord Li, please have some self-respect."

Lord Li was forced back a step by Qi Guze's power. He looked at Qi Guze in surprise, seemingly not expecting that this seemingly ordinary man would have such strength.

He said coldly, "So it's Lord Qi here too. The people of your Regent's Palace are really in high spirits, actually coming to a place like this."

Xu Yuehuai's heart tightened; she knew that Lord Li had recognized them. But she remained calm and smiled, saying, "Lord Li is too kind. We were just here for a stroll. Since we've run into you, we'll take our leave now."

After saying that, she took Qi Ziang and Qi Zixin's hands and turned to leave.

However, Lord Li showed no intention of letting them leave. He blocked their way and said coldly, "Madam Xu, are you just going to leave like this? Don't you intend to explain why you came here?"

Xu Yuehuai's heart sank; she knew that things were unlikely to end well today. She took a deep breath, looked up at Lord Li, and a resolute glint flashed in her eyes.

She said, "Lord Li, we do have our reasons for coming here. However, it is none of your business. If you insist on interfering, then don't blame us for being impolite."

Lord Li sneered, "You're not being polite? People from your Regent's Palace are quite arrogant. But do you think I'm afraid of you?"

Having said that, he raised his hand to attack Xu Yuehuai. However, at that moment, a figure suddenly appeared from the side, blocking Xu Yuehuai's path. It was Qi Guze.

Qi Guze looked coldly at Lord Li and said, "Lord Li, this is the Ghost Market, not a place for you to run wild. If you don't want to cause trouble, please step aside."

Lord Li was intimidated by Qi Guze's imposing presence. He took a step back, but his eyes still gleamed with resentment.

He sneered, "Fine, fine. The people from your Regent's Palace are indeed formidable. But don't forget, this isn't your territory. You'd better be careful, or you'll get yourself killed here."

After saying that, he turned and left, disappearing into the crowd.

Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze exchanged a glance, both seeing the gravity in each other's eyes. They knew that today's experience was probably just the beginning, and they would need to be even more careful from now on.

They continued to browse the ghost market for the rest of the time, but were noticeably more cautious than before.

They constantly observed their surroundings, fearing they might encounter further trouble. However, despite their caution, trouble seemed to always find its way to them.

A short while later, several suspicious-looking people approached them silently.

These people were clearly not good people, and Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze immediately became alert and prepared to fight.

Just then, a biting cold wind suddenly swept in, carrying a chilling aura.

Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze noticed something was wrong almost simultaneously. They quickly shielded the children behind them and scanned their surroundings warily.

Sure enough, several dark figures silently surged in from all directions, surrounding them completely. These figures were agile and skilled, clearly highly trained assassins.

Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze exchanged a glance, a cold glint in their eyes. They knew these assassins were after them.

"Don't be afraid, we're here," Xu Yuehuai whispered to the children.

Qi Ziang and Tie Chunsheng nodded nervously, but under the reassurance of Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze, their emotions gradually stabilized.

Qi Guze was already prepared for battle. He moved swiftly and attacked one of the dark figures. His swordsmanship was sharp and swift, each strike aimed directly at the opponent's vital points.

Xu Yuehuai wasn't idle either. She wielded her longsword and engaged in a fierce battle with the other two dark figures. Her swordsmanship was equally exquisite; each strike contained immense power, making it difficult for her opponents to parry.

Seeing this, Qi Zi'ang and Tie Chunsheng also drew their weapons and bravely joined the battle. Although their strength was still limited, under the tutelage of Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze, they had already acquired a certain level of combat ability.

In an instant, the entire ghost market was alarmed by the sounds of their battle.

People quickly moved away, afraid of being drawn into this life-or-death struggle.

However, these assassins didn't seem to have any intention of giving up easily. They continued to besiege Xu Yuehuai and his group, trying to find a way to break through.
