Chapter 727 Bizarre Ritual

Xu Yuehuai broke out in a cold sweat. She looked up and saw a mechanism on the cave ceiling. If Qi Guze hadn't saved her in time, she would have been a pincushion.

"We shouldn't stay here any longer," Qi Guze said, pulling Xu Yuehuai towards the cave exit.

The two had just left the cave when a loud crash was heard, and the entire cave collapsed.

They helped each other up and quickly moved away from the cave.

At this moment, Qi Guze suddenly remembered something, "We need to hurry up and notify the others not to enter the secret realm."

Xu Yuehua nodded. "It's too dangerous here. We should definitely tell them."

The two immediately set off, speeding back in the direction they had come from.

On their way out of the secret realm, they encountered the other lost people.

Qi Guze and Xu Yuehuai told them about the dangers of the cave and persuaded them to leave the secret realm.

At first, they were unwilling to leave and wanted to stay by Qi Guze and Xu Yuehuai's side. But when they saw the collapsed cave behind them, they suddenly realized the seriousness of the situation.

With the help of Qi Guze and Xu Yuehuai, Duan Nian and the others successfully left the secret realm.

They went back again, carefully avoiding one treacherous trap after another, and ventured deep into the secret realm.

Along the way, they also discovered some rare herbs and precious minerals, which greatly excited the two of them.

However, they did not forget their main task—to find Pei Xuan.

They followed Pei Xuan's trail and eventually arrived at a huge cave.

Deep roars echoed from the cave, indicating that an extremely powerful creature lived inside.

Qi Guze and Xu Yuehuai exchanged a glance; they both knew the danger of this cave.

However, in order to find Pei Xuan, they decided to venture into the cave.

They gripped their weapons tightly and slowly peered into the cave.

The cave was pitch black, with only a few faint lights shining through the entrance.

They could only rely on their own senses and courage to venture deeper into the cave.

Suddenly, a huge beast burst out of the darkness and launched a fierce attack on them.

Xu Yuehuai quickly dodged and launched an attack on the beast at the same time.

Qi Guze then leaped down from a nearby rock and thrust his sword into the beast's ribs.

After a fierce battle, they finally defeated the beast.

However, when they entered the depths of the cave, they found that Pei Xuan was not there.

Qi Guze and Xu Yuehuai felt very frustrated. They knew that it might be a long time before they could find Pei Xuan.

However, they also understood that as long as they searched the vicinity, they would eventually find Pei Xuan's whereabouts.

They left the cave and went to other places in the surrounding area.

They arrived at a desolate valley, filled with a gloomy atmosphere.

The valley was filled with rocks and thorns, and there seemed to be no sign of life.

Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze both felt a strong sense of crisis. They proceeded cautiously, trying to find any valuable clues.

Just as they were about to lose patience, a strange noise suddenly came from the depths of the valley.

The two immediately hid warily behind a nearby rock, holding their breath and observing the situation. Suddenly, a figure darted out of the valley—it was Pei Xuan, the one they were looking for.

His face was contorted with madness, and he gripped a sharp dagger as he raced off in a certain direction.

Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze exchanged a glance and immediately followed Pei Xuan's footsteps.

During the chase, they discovered that Pei Xuan seemed to be deliberately leading them deeper into the valley.

The valley grew increasingly desolate, as if it had reached the end of the world.

Suddenly, they came to a desolate ruin. Scattered among the ruins were ancient inscriptions and architectural remains, suggesting that this place had once been an ancient village.

Pei Xuan rushed into the ruins and disappeared into a dilapidated building deep within them.

Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze followed closely behind and arrived in front of the building.

The building was pitch black inside and exuded a musty smell of decay.

They stood back to back, surveying their surroundings to avoid being ambushed, as they ventured deeper into the building.

As they groped their way forward in the dark, they suddenly heard a strange sound.

The sound seemed to be coming from deep within the building, sounding like someone whispering. Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze gripped their weapons tightly, cautiously approaching the direction of the sound.

As the sound became clearer, they finally saw a bizarre scene.

Deep within the building, on the ground, a group of black figures gathered together, performing some kind of mysterious ritual.

The leader was an old man dressed in a black robe, with a terrifying mask on his face that sent chills down one's spine.

The old man held a stone staff in his hand and was chanting some kind of incantation. Other dark figures surrounded him, seemingly waiting for something.

Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze observed from the shadows, a strong sense of unease rising within them.

They realized that the purpose of this ritual was not simple; it was likely to summon some kind of evil power.

“We have to stop this ceremony,” Xu Yuehuai said in a low voice. Qi Guze nodded, “But we must proceed with caution to avoid alerting them.”

The two quietly approached the shadowy figures, preparing to strike at the opportune moment.

However, just as they were about to launch their attack, the old man suddenly looked in their direction. Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze were terrified, but they had nowhere to escape.

Just as Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze thought they had been exposed, they quickly turned around and retreated, while looking for something to cover themselves.

In the darkness, using the faint light, they quickly hid behind a pile of broken stone pillars.

The old man coldly watched the direction in which they had hidden, a strange smile curling at the corner of his mouth.

He waved for his men to stop the ceremony, and a series of dark figures left their positions and surrounded the area where Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze were located.

Qi Guze whispered to Xu Yuehuai, "It seems we've been discovered. You'd better take good care of yourself later."

Xu Yuehuai gripped the short sword tightly, her eyes flashing with determination: "This time, we cannot let their ritual succeed no matter what."

"This is not something you can handle. You should leave here immediately, or we'll guarantee your safety."

"If you try to stop us, don't blame us for being ruthless."

"Why aren't you leaving yet?"

The old man in the very center spoke in a cold voice.

Qi Guze replied, "You sent people to lead us here, how can we leave so easily?"

"Stop your ceremony right now, or we won't be so polite."

Xu Yuehuai also said, "Since we've run into you today, you can forget about continuing the ceremony."

"If you're going to do it, then hurry up and stop wasting time talking."

No sooner had the words been spoken than the shadowy figures closed in, and a fierce battle instantly erupted between the two sides.
