Chapter 672 The Time of Parting

Xu Yuehuai then spent some time organizing her things.

Wu Xue escorted them outside the mansion, her worry evident in her words.

She stared intently at them and said, "I didn't expect you to leave so soon. Please be careful on your journey!"

“This area has been a bit unsettled lately, so please be careful not to encounter any dangerous situations,” Wu Xue emphasized again.

"If you encounter any difficulties, remember to contact me anytime. If you miss me, you can come back to me." Wu Xue's voice trembled slightly, clearly showing how reluctant she was to part with them.

During this time together, Wu Xue has become very familiar with them.

Now that they're parting ways, she can't help but feel a little worried.

She didn't want to be separated from them, but the time for parting had come.

"Don't worry, we'll take good care of ourselves and won't let ourselves get into any danger," Xia Sen promised. "Once things settle down, we'll definitely find a way to contact you."

"Don't miss us too much. We will definitely come back and see you again."

Xia Sen's words comforted Wu Xue.

With no other choice, Wu Xue said goodbye to Xia Sen and the others.

Then Xia Sen helped Xu Yuehuai leave the Wu family.

Their next destination was in the direction where Qi Guze was.

The world is in chaos now, and they don't know where Qi Guze and the others are.

They could only head in the direction of Qi Guze to find them.

In the days that followed, Xu Yuehuai's body fully recovered and she was no longer as weak as before.

Xia Sen stayed by her side the whole time, and they chatted as they traveled, getting along very well.

However, a group of people suddenly rushed out from the side and surrounded Xu Yuehuai and Xia Sen.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Xia Sen asked warily, looking at the people around him.

"What we're planning to do? You'll find out soon enough!" The group sneered mysteriously.

In the dead of night, that mysterious figure walked up to Xia Sen.

He reached out and grabbed Xia Sen by the collar, lifting him up like a chick.

"Who are you? Why are you treating us like this?"

Xia Sen was bound by this sudden power, his mind filled with doubt. He had no idea who these people were.

"Who I am is not important; what's important is that you've messed with someone you shouldn't have messed with."

Xia Sen answered coldly.

The man threw Xia Sen aside roughly and then walked up to Xu Yuehuai.

“You’re the woman who got the plague, aren’t you?” he threatened. “I’ve seen your portrait.”

Xu Yuehuai was not a woman to be manipulated; she nimbly dodged the man's attack.

Then, she grabbed the man's hand and subdued him with lightning speed.

"Ah! How dare you treat me like this! Do you want to die? Do you know who I am?"

The man roared in exasperation.

Xu Yuehuai replied nonchalantly, "I don't care who you are. What does it have to do with me?"

After saying that, she tossed the man aside and ignored them completely.

The next group of people tried to capture them, but Xu Yuehuai's attacks were particularly fierce, and he knocked them all down in an instant.

They dared not gather around anymore, especially worried about what Xu Yuehuai might do to them.

"Oh, please, please don't lay a hand on me!"

"We know we were wrong, we shouldn't have come to arrest you!"

"This is not what we wanted to do! Please, let us go!"

Xu Yuehuai gave them a cold smile, "Heh, now you want me to let you go? It's not that simple."

As she spoke, she launched another attack on them until she had knocked them all down and they were unable to retaliate, at which point she finally let them go.

Next, she and Xia Sen decided to leave this dangerous place. They had to get away from here as soon as possible, otherwise they didn't know if more people would come to arrest them. They didn't want to waste time here and put themselves in danger.

On the rest of the journey, they sped up to escape the area. Xu Yuehuai and Xia Sen chatted happily as they traveled. After they ran out of the food they had brought, Xu Yuehuai grilled fish and some wild vegetables for Xia Sen.

"Sister, your cooking is really good. These dishes are especially delicious. I really like them."

"I wish I could eat my sister's cooking every day!"

Xia Sen praised Xu Yuehuai for her cooking.

Xu Yuehuai smiled and said, "My cooking isn't that delicious. Only you would say that."

After finishing their food, they found a place to rest.

While they were resting, Xu Yuehuai suddenly noticed a problem.

“Xia Sen, don’t you think that old doctor is strange?” she asked. “He seems to know who we are, but he won’t tell us. Don’t you find that strange?”

Xia Sen also felt something was wrong after hearing this. "You're right, he does know who we are, but he won't tell us. And look at him, he seems very afraid of the government."

"I feel like I've seen him somewhere before, but when I asked him, he denied it."

“He said we had never seen it at all, and I don’t know why I had that feeling.”

"We've already left that place, and he's probably gone too. I guess we'll never see each other again."

Xu Yuehuai still felt that the old doctor was very strange, and always felt that he was lying.

"There's definitely something fishy going on here!"

As Xu Yuehuai and Xia Sen discussed, they also cautiously scanned their surroundings.

Xia Sen said to Xu Yuehuai, "Sister, don't overthink it. Maybe it's just your imagination."

"Anyway, we've already left that place, so even if he has nothing to do with me, it's no use now."

"Sister, you should rest well. You've finally recovered from your illness, don't let yourself get sick again."

With these questions in mind, they didn't say anything more and then rested.

The next day, they immediately set off, eager to find Qi Guze as soon as possible.

But as they walked forward, they suddenly felt as if someone was following them from behind.

Xu Yuehuai and Xia Sen exchanged a glance, both seeing a hint of doubt in each other's eyes.

There were some faint noises behind them; they wondered if they were made by animals.

But as they walked slowly, those sounds suddenly disappeared.

Only when they quickened their pace could they hear the faint sound appear once again.

They felt increasingly that something was amiss, but after a thorough investigation, they found absolutely no clues.
