Chapter 1217 Finding the Exit

The two walked side by side, even their breathing was in sync. They were extremely careful with every step to avoid triggering any traps in the ancient tomb.

At the end of the passage, a faint ray of light shone through, illuminating the faces of the two people.

They quickened their pace and finally emerged from the narrow passage, where a bright and open space appeared before them.

A wide-open space appeared before them, and several figures were standing there.

Xu Yuehuai looked closely and saw that it was Qi Ziang, Tie Chunsheng, and the guards!

Their faces lit up with surprise, as if they had seen a glimmer of hope.

"Are you all alright?" Xu Yuehuai quickly stepped forward and asked with concern.

Qi Ziang, Tie Chunsheng, and the others shook their heads to indicate that they were alright. They were all overjoyed to see Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze return safely.

At this moment, all the previous worries and fears vanished, leaving only the joy of reunion.

"Father, Mother, that's wonderful! Everyone is safely reunited!" Qi Zi'ang excitedly rushed into Xu Yuehuai's arms, his eyes glistening with tears.

Xu Yuehuai stroked Qi Ziang's head and said gently, "Alright, Ziang, we're fine now, aren't we? Next, we need to find a way out and leave this place as soon as possible."

Everyone nodded in agreement, and they searched for a way out along the edge of the open space.

The open space was surrounded by all sorts of strange symbols and patterns, as if they were some kind of ancient incantation.

Xu Yuehuai and Qi Guze exchanged a glance, both wondering if these symbols might hide some kind of secret.

But they cannot stay and investigate these secrets now, or they may encounter something even more dangerous.

After all, we still don't know where that old madman went. Right now, we can only leave as soon as possible. If we want to investigate the secret, we'll have to wait until more people gather to be safer.

Everyone withdrew their attention, keeping the matter to themselves for the time being. Then they split into two teams to search for other exits.

But after searching for two days, they still couldn't find an exit. If this continued, everyone's strength would give out.

Xu Yuehuai's lips were very dry. "Aze, we can hold on a little longer, but I'm afraid Zi'ang and Chunsheng, those two little ones, can't continue to suffer with us."

Qi Zi'ang said, "Mother, Father, you don't need to worry about us. If you can hold on, we definitely can too."

“Yes, don’t always treat us like children. We’re adults now.” Tie Chunsheng clenched his fist and pounded his chest. Like Tie Xiong, he was a very strong man.

Qi Guze remained very quiet, listening carefully to the sounds around him.

Suddenly, Qi Guze spoke up, "I seem to sense that there are other paths around us. Please be quiet and let me investigate carefully."

After he finished speaking, Xu Yuehuai and the others all held their breath and did not make a sound.

In an instant, the entire tomb became so quiet that it seemed devoid of any living creature, falling into a deathly silence.

"Follow me." Qi Guze waved his hand, signaling everyone to follow.

Xu Yuehuai held Tie Chunsheng's hand in one hand and Qi Ziang's hand in the other to prevent them from getting lost or getting into trouble, and then everyone followed.

After walking for a long time, they still hadn't seen any other exits. But they didn't stop, still trusting Qi Guze, and followed him as he wandered through the winding tomb.

"Father, Father, can we really find a way out?" Qi Zi'ang was getting impatient. He felt like they were going in circles and his head was spinning.

"Yes, Grandpa, didn't we just walk this way? Why are we coming back?"

Tie Chesheng couldn't understand why they were going around in circles when they had already been to these places before. Why didn't they choose other routes?

Qi Guze's eyes were deep, and his tone was indifferent: "But do you think the road we're walking on now is the same road we walked on before?"

"Oh! I see. We just walked across the paving stones here, but the path leading to us now is different." Qi Zi'ang quickly realized.

"Zi'ang, what are you saying? I don't understand." Tie Chunsheng scratched his head, confused and completely unaware of the sign language the two of them were using.

"In other words, the path we walk on is made up of different floor tiles. Although the floor tiles are the same, they lead in different directions."

“Look, we’ve marked this place, but there aren’t any identical marks in front of it.”

“We were taking an irregular route, and Aze helped us choose the safest option and led us toward the exit.”

"I feel like we'll be out of there soon!"

Xu Yuehuai led Tie Chunsheng and Qi Ziang along, explaining to them as they went.

Upon hearing this, Tie Chunsheng finally understood.

"Oh, I see. It seems we weren't going in circles. But why do I still feel a little confused?"

Tie Chunsheng stared at Qi Guze's retreating figure as if he were seeing a phantom. Qi Guze's movements were incredibly swift, leaving a long afterimage behind him.

The reason he couldn't see Qi Guze clearly was because Qi Guze had already chosen other paths, and after finding those paths impassable, he turned back. This process was too fast, so he only saw the final result.

Xu Yuehuai, however, was able to see things more clearly and thus understood them better.

"Anyway, following Grandpa is the right thing to do, Grandpa! Slow down!" Tie Chunsheng immediately jogged up and followed closely behind Qi Guze.

Seeing this, Qi Ziang quickly followed, and the two were evenly matched in speed.

Xu Yuehuai felt very gratified to see them competing in footwork.

These two little ones are different from others; they are always striving to improve and can always find ways to progress, which is a great strength.

After Qi Guze led everyone for a while, they finally saw a glimmer of light.

"We must have found a passage to the outside world, right?" Tie Chunsheng stopped, leaned against the stone wall beside him, panting heavily.

Qi Ziang stood on tiptoe, looking at the road ahead. "Yes, the air currents are strong in this area, and it's very likely that we've already reached a place connected to the outside world."

Qi Guze remained silent, resolutely walking forward. Xu Yuehuai followed closely behind, occasionally turning back to urge the children to keep up. The group traversed a maze of passages, the whistling wind echoing in their ears, a sound that sent shivers down their spines.

Soon, they finally arrived at the entrance to a spacious cave. The entrance was sealed by a huge stone slab, its surface covered with the marks of time, giving it an exceptionally heavy appearance.

Qi Guze stepped forward, gripped the edge of the stone slab tightly with both hands, took a deep breath, and pushed with all his might. Under everyone's gaze, the stone slab slowly moved aside, revealing a dimly lit passageway with faint light shining through.
